At the far end of the spatial orchard, the boundless stretch of land remained, but a wooden cabin now stood upon the barren earth.
The cabin seemed to have appeared out of thin air; she had never seen a house in the space before.
Olivia Wynne wasn't sure if this wooden cabin was a good or bad thing, so she walked slowly toward it.
Gently pushing open the door, Olivia Wynne stepped cautiously inside.
Once inside, her eyes fell upon a simple plank bed and a cabinet. There was nothing else.
Olivia Wynne strode to the bedside, glanced at the empty plank bed, and then looked toward the cabinet.
Her bright eyes filled with anticipation as she opened the cabinet door, and then they shone even brighter.
Inside the cabinet was a white bottle, and beneath it, a book.
Olivia Wynne carefully picked up the bottle. The words "Strange Fruit" were written on it. The back of the bottle described the fruit's properties.
"Sprouts in one year after planting. Bears fruit in three to five years... The fruit is edible after ten years."
"Strange Fruit: delicious and fragrant. Enhances beauty, removes impurities, and purifies the soul..."
Olivia Wynne's eyes filled with doubt after she finished reading the description.
'Purify the soul? What the hell?'
Placing the bottle back where it was, Olivia Wynne picked up the book to have a look.
Hundred Fruit Record
Olivia Wynne flipped it open and saw that the first page was an introduction to the Strange Fruit, exactly the same as the description she had just seen on the white bottle.
She flipped through the rest of the book, all the way to the end, only to find it was filled with descriptions of various fruits.
Olivia Wynne put the book back in the cabinet, a little disappointed. 'This book doesn't seem very useful to me.'
'Still, the book did say the Strange Fruit is delicious. That's something, at least.'
She opened the white bottle and glanced inside. The contents looked like peach pits; she guessed they must be the Strange Fruit seeds.
After scanning the room one more time and finding nothing else of interest, Olivia Wynne decided to take the seeds and plant them in the empty plot of land outside.
'But there's no water in this space,' she thought, 'which could be a problem. Fruit trees need watering.'
Just as Olivia Wynne was thinking this, a window on the side of the cabin suddenly opened.
Olivia Wynne quickly walked over and glanced outside.
She took one look and froze.
To her amazement, there was a circular pool of water outside, about fifty square meters in size.
Olivia Wynne tightened her grip on the porcelain bottle in her hand and walked quickly outside.
A smile lit up Olivia Wynne's eyes as she gazed at the clear water of the pool.
'My space is practically a cheat code,' she thought. 'It's amazing.'
After planting the Strange Fruit seeds, Olivia Wynne explored the space for a good while longer. She only left when she couldn't ignore her growling stomach any longer.
Opening her bedroom door, she poked her head out to look and immediately saw William Wynne sitting in the living room.
Olivia Wynne tried to act casual, straightening her back as she walked into the living room and greeted William Wynne.
"Uncle William, you're back."
William Wynne glanced at Olivia Wynne, his deep eyes darkening slightly.
"Mm, go change your clothes. I'll take you out to eat in a bit."
Olivia Wynne looked down at her clothes and instantly turned to leave in frustration.
"Okay."
'I was in that space for too long,' she realized. 'My clothes got covered in dirt. They're filthy.'
'I wonder if Uncle William suspects anything.'
After Olivia Wynne left, William Wynne immediately took out his phone, went to the window, and called the gate guard, Lawson.
Upon receiving a negative answer, William Wynne's eyes grew even darker.
He returned to the living room and waited. When the girl emerged from her room, William Wynne asked slowly,
"Did you go out this afternoon? How did your clothes get so muddy?"
