A call from Julian Keaton came in, bringing Preston Keaton to a halt. He couldn't ignore his father's call; that was a matter of etiquette ingrained in him.
He answered nonchalantly. He had just spoken with him that morning, when he'd been berated and asked what on earth he was trying to do.
Preston Keaton had smiled, calm and composed. "It's rather obvious. I'm going to marry her."
The person on the other end had hung up in a flustered rage.
So when this call came in again in the afternoon, Preston Keaton guessed it was probably an order to go to Apex.
And indeed, that was what Julian Keaton wanted to talk about. His anger hadn't subsided, so his words were sharp and sarcastic. "You haven't been to the company in days. How do you plan to provide for your woman?"
"I'll go tomorrow," Preston Keaton said calmly.
'He had planned on going tomorrow anyway. If need be, he could just bring the girl along.'
