Even as he asked the question, it sounded absurd.
Grand Master Dwayne had been born in this world and had grown up within the Flying Sword Sect. He had survived countless life-and-death battles before eventually reaching the Grand Master Realm. If he truly were a god, none of that should have been necessary. A god could not possibly be born as a weak mortal human.
"He was human," the Snow Empress finally answered. "Yet at the same time... he wasn't." She released a weary sigh. For a moment, she looked as though she had grown tired of carrying the burdens of the world. "I'm telling you this because Yvonne's soul lamp is still burning."
Caelis froze. "What?"
"I suspect something unimaginable happened when Yvonne entered the Underworld alongside Dwayne and your father. I've secretly hidden her soul lamp ever since I learned she never returned. Otherwise, too many people would have begun asking questions."
