I was sitting in my office, smiling to myself as I rewatched the footage of a conversation between Elara and Kael.
"So all this while, we have been making things so complicated, not knowing that Elara was the key to unlocking Kael all along. What a remarkable twist. Imagine fate bringing Elara to us, making us hire her to do this job without us even knowing she was exactly what we needed. This will work out very well for me," I thought to myself as I smiled.
Then all of a sudden, my phone vibrated. It was the CEO, George, calling. I picked up immediately, barely getting through my greeting before he cut me off entirely.
"I need to see you in my office right now," he said before hanging up.
"What could he possibly want at this hour of the night? It is already late. Why is he calling me this late?" I thought to myself. I decided to go and find out.
The moment I entered his office, he hurled a cup directly at me, and I dodged just in time.
