Elara's POV.
Because of the surprising result sitting on my desk, I decided to redo the test for the third time. I mixed the chemicals carefully, my fingers steady even though my heart was not. I watched the glass slides without blinking and checked every single detail with my magnifying glass, but the result stayed exactly the same. There was still no sign of any chemical in the blood.
Feeling desperate to find the truth, I packed my bag, my hands moving faster than my thoughts, and rushed back to the company as fast as my legs could carry me. I needed to take urine samples from the test subjects to see if the substance was hiding somewhere else in their bodies.
When I arrived at the testing facility, still catching my breath, Mr. James was standing near the observation room. He saw how fast I was moving and walked over to me with a worried look on his face.
