Seven stopped walking, all the color draining from his face at Rodrigo's revelation.
"What do you mean… they want to be immortals?" Seven asked, staring at Rodrigo in utter disbelief. "How is that even possible?"
"It seems it is very well possible, seeing how far they've gone to get their hands on the Vothraki."
Goosebumps spread across Seven's skin. "The late Alpha's death, your kidnapping… everything…"
For a moment, Rodrigo said nothing. His gaze remained fixed somewhere beyond the courtyard, toward the dark horizon where the mountains vanished beneath the night sky.
Then he nodded.
"That's why Hades is here," Seven said, looking at Rodrigo with rising worry. "How many Alphas are with them? If there are more than you think, then… we're fighting a much bigger war."
The words settled heavily between them.
Seven shook his head slowly, refusing to accept the reality of it all. If the Alphas of the Northern packs were truly in support of Hades, they were in serious trouble.
