Chapter 2 - Chat Power

James' survival instinct immediately kicked in and without having time to think about anything, he dashed in the opposite direction of the T-Rex.

His body moved before his mind could catch up.

Dry leaves exploded under his feet as he sprinted through the jungle, pushing past hanging vines and ducking under low branches. His heart slammed violently inside his chest. The beat loud enough to drown out his thoughts.

He glanced at the side of his vision.

The chat was pouring in. No longer dry. No longer silent. It was exploding.

Messages were flooding so fast that he could barely read them.

RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN

HOLY SHIT THAT'S REAL

IS THAT A DINOSAUR???

MOVE FASTER

DON'T LOOK BACK

RUNNNNNN

And then he saw something else. A small floating symbol hovered near his head.

A tiny camera icon with an eyeball in the center, slowly rotating and following his movement like a drone.

It floated silently, tracking him from the side.

James' brain barely processed it but one thought flashed through his mind. The shooting is still going on.

"The streaming was still going on right now… The chat seeing what happened right now… to me… the t rex is behind me… a T fucking Rex… a dinosaur… what…"

His thoughts spiraled wildly as he ran.

Branches scratched his arms and face, leaves hitting his eyes, roots sticking out of the ground like traps waiting to kill him.

He kept running. And running. And running. Then his foot slammed into a giant root hidden under fallen leaves.

His body lost balance instantly.

"AH—!"

He stumbled forward and smashed face-first into the ground.

THUD!

Pain exploded across his mouth and nose. He tasted blood immediately. Something inside his mouth felt wrong. Loose.

Maybe… one of his teeth got knocked out.

But he didn't even check. He didn't even care.

Because behind him the ground shook violently.

BOOOOOOM!

The T-Rex was chasing him.

"AAAAAA!!"

James pushed himself up instantly and ran again without hesitation. Blood is still dripping from his lips. Fear had completely taken over his body.

He remembered something suddenly.

T-Rex size… T-Rex speed… T-Rex hunting ability…

And his heart dropped.

A T-Rex could run at terrifying speed.

Much faster than a normal human.

His legs felt weak for a moment.

I can't outrun it…

I really can't outrun it…

But he kept running anyway. Because stopping meant even more certain death.

Because slowing down meant being eaten.

Hell, thinking for a moment could even mean dying.

So he ran. He ran like his life depended on it. Because it did!

James didn't realize it. But his chat was going insane.

RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN

DON'T STOP

GO LEFT

FASTER

PLEASE DON'T DIE

THIS IS INSANE. WHAT AM I WATCHING….

MOVE MOVE MOVE

GO GO GO GO GO

Suddenly, one hundred viewers were now watching. And more coming.

Their hearts were pounding. Their adrenaline rises. Their fear, excitement, panic, and desperation compounded together.

All of it surged through the Prime Stream System like a massive wave of energy.

Emotion became fuel. Fear became power. Excitement became support.

And without James or the viewers knowing, the Prime Stream System absorbed it. Then converted it.

And released it back to the host.

Suddenly, notifications appeared in front of James' vision.

But he didn't read them.

He didn't even notice them.

He was too busy running for his life.

Still, the system continued working.

James kept running. Then something strange began to happen.

His legs felt lighter. His breathing became smoother. His body moved faster.

Much faster.

The jungle that once slowed him now seemed easier to pass through.

Roots became easier to dodge. Branches easier to avoid.

His speed was rising sharply.

But he didn't realize it.

He just kept running and running.

Behind him the T-Rex roared in rage.

ROOOOOOAAARRRRR

Massive trees shook as it charged forward, knocking smaller ones aside like toys.

BOOM

BOOM

BOOM

The ground trembled with every step.

James instinctively turned his head to look back.

And immediately regretted it.

His face went pale.

All he saw was the massive open jaw of the T-Rex with rows of sharp, dirty, enormous teeth. Covered with old blood stains.

The creature was much closer than he expected.

Too close.

Way too close.

"SHIIIIIT!" he screamed while running even faster.

He nearly tripped again from panic.

The roar echoed again behind him, but this time the distance was slightly increasing.

Step by step.nSecond by second.

The T-Rex was falling behind.

James didn't notice it.

He just kept running like a madman.

Until finally, his body couldn't take it anymore.

He dashed behind a gigantic ancient tree.

The tree was massive.nHuge enough to look like a tower.nIts trunk was wide enough to hide ten people.

James collapsed behind it and pressed his back against the bark.

"HAAAH… HAAAH… HAAAH…"

His lungs burned like fire.nHis chest hurt.nHis legs trembled uncontrollably. Sweat poured down his body like rain.

He slid down slowly and slumped onto the ground.

"I… can't… breathe…"

He tried to stay quiet and not to make any sound.

The rumbling footsteps were still there.

BOOM…

BOOM…

BOOM…

The T-Rex was still searching. Still moving somewhere nearby.

James covered his mouth and held his breath, afraid that even the smallest sound would attract it.

The jungle fell into tense silence.

Only distant footsteps and rustling trees could be heard.

Seconds passed.

Then minutes.

And slowly…

The rumbling began to change direction.

BOOM…

BOOM…

BOOM…

The sound moved away farther, and farther.

James slowly lifted his head. "…?"

The footsteps were no longer coming toward him.

Instead, they were moving deeper into the jungle.

Then another roar echoed in the distance.

ROOOOOOOOARRRRRRR!

But this time it sounded different. Like the T-Rex had found something else. Or something else had caught its aggression.

James stayed frozen for several more seconds before finally collapsing completely onto the ground.

"…I'm alive…" His voice trembled. "…I'm actually alive…"

His body shook from exhaustion and adrenaline crash as he stared blankly at the sky through the giant leaves above.

The floating camera-eye still hovered quietly beside him.

The chat was still flooding.

James looked dazedly at the sky above him.

Huge leaves covered most of it, forming a thick green canopy that filtered the sunlight into soft golden beams. The light felt warmer than it should be and the air smelled heavier, filled with damp soil, moss, and something he couldn't quite describe.

It felt different.

Everything felt different. The air… The light… The smell…. The sound of insects...

Even the silence of the jungle felt foreign.

James stared blankly upward. His chest was still rising and falling heavily.

"This feels wrong…" His voice came out weak and hoarse.

Everything feels and looks different…

And he still couldn't comprehend what the hell had just happened.

One moment he was walking beside a river in the city. The next moment he was running away from a T-Rex in a prehistoric jungle.

He blinked slowly.

His vision shifted slightly, and he noticed something.

The notification that had been floating earlier was gone.

The buff had disappeared.

Instantly, reality hit his body like a truck.

Pain.

Pure pain.

"Urgh…"

His legs screamed in protest.

His lungs burned.

His face hurt badly, especially around his mouth.

He touched his lips and winced.

"Ah… damn…"

Blood was still there..One of his teeth really might be gone.

His knees felt weak, and his entire body trembled from exhaustion.

Without the buff, he was just a normal human again.

And now his body was paying the price.

"Great… just great…" he muttered weakly.

Then his eyes slowly moved to the side.

The floating icon was still there.

The small camera with an eyeball symbol hovered quietly near his shoulder, rotating gently like a silent observer.

The shooting was still online. The streaming was still going. Somehow.

And judging by the chat that kept rolling endlessly in his vision, people were still watching him.

James slowly turned his head and looked at the chat.

Messages were still pouring in.

That was intense, man. I thought you were already dead!

That's a fucking t rex, where are you bro???

Is this real life?

Call the police bro oh wait, its useless cuz bro seems to be on the wrong planet!

This is the best stream ever..

I need water after watching that man almost become a dinosaur lunch.

And more.

Countless messages rolled upward without stopping.

James stared at them quietly.

His mind slowly began to calm down.

Okay… Okay… Think. He needs to think properly now.

Running and panicking wouldn't solve anything.

He needed to gather his shit together. He needed to use his brain.

He swallowed slowly and spoke.

"Chat… can you hear me?"

His voice trembled slightly.

The chat immediately responded.

Yes.

Loud and clear

We hear you

Bro you alive…

Yes we can hear you.

Talk to us.

James let out a small breath of relief.

Good.

At least he wasn't alone.

"Good…" James nodded slowly. "Good… that's good…"

He wiped the sweat on his forehead and leaned against the giant tree.

"Help me think, okay?" His voice was still shaky but more stable now. "So… I was walking down the road as always… then suddenly I got transported here."

He looked around the jungle again.

"I can still see you sending messages… so I think I'm not dreaming."

He paused for a moment.

"Except… you're all just my imagination."

The chat exploded instantly.

Bro if this is your imagination then your brain is crazy!

We are real dumbass.

I just saw you almost get eaten by a t rex who imagines themselves getting chased by dinosaurs?

If this is a dream then wake me up too…

Bro you almost lost your tooth and you say we are imaginary. we watched you run like a headless chicken

10/10 real stream experience

James blinked slowly. "Headless chicken?"

He did see a headless chicken could still run for a few minutes, though. But it was not important right now.

James sighed. "Thanks for the support."

More messages came.

we are real.

we are watching you live. you were running for your life.

This is not a dream. You got isekai'd bro!

Welcome to dinosaur land or whatever that place is.

James rubbed his face tiredly.

"So this is real…"

He looked at the jungle again.

Then at the floating camera.

Then at the chat.

"Urgh…"

He slowly pushed himself up from the ground.

His legs trembled, but he managed to stand.

Every muscle hurts. His face, mouth, and legs hurt. Everything hurts.

But he was alive. That was enough. For now.

He leaned against the giant tree and looked at the floating system interface again.

"Earlier…" He spoke slowly while thinking. "I received a speed buff when the T-Rex was chasing me."

The chat slowed down slightly, listening.

James pointed at the air.

"The system said something like viewer emotion surge and temporary buff."

He took a deep breath.

"And the buff came when all of you were spamming RUN."

The chat began reacting again.

Wait you mean we helped you run

Chat power. :D

We buffed him.

No way…

We are like his support class now.

James nodded slowly.

"Yeah." He looked at the chat seriously. "I think my survival depends on you guys."

Silence filled the air for a moment. Even the jungle seemed quiet.

James continued.

"When you panic… I get speed. When you react… the system gives me support. When you engage… I get stronger."

He swallowed.

"So basically, my survival is really depending on you all." He forced a weak smile.

The chat exploded again.

PROTECT JAMES AT ALL CAUSE!

James let out a small tired laugh.

"Yeah."

He looked at the jungle again. Then in the distant direction where the T-Rex had gone. Then back to the chat.

"So help me survive this world, okay?"

He wiped the blood from his lips.

The floating camera quietly recorded everything as the jungle wind slowly moved the giant leaves above him.

"Let's start moving again."

James starts walking.
