Chapter 154 - Venice

A month later…

March passed by in a blur. Dante awoke as the sun broke past the horizon. He sat straight and glanced at his watch. The clock struck six o'clock. Dante groaned and stood. He stretched his limbs and twisted his body. He entered the bathroom as Missio woke up. The breaker yawned and stood up as well. A flushing noise came from the toilet as Dante exited with his toothbrush. The supreme commander brushed his teeth while his brother slammed the door shut.

After a minute, Dante walked over to the front door and spat the toothpaste outside. He went back in as Missio also exited. He stepped into the bathroom, using the sink to clean his mouth. He placed the tooth brush back in its stand. He gazed at himself in the mirror, noticing his growing hair. Missio passed him and cleansed his mouth. Both brothers took off their pajamas and wore their casual clothes.

Dante wore a white shirt with a baggy, elastic navy-blue trousers while Missio wore a branded red shirt with black shorts. The supreme commander strapped himself to the driver's seat. The awning folded in as Missio brought in the chairs from outside. He slammed the door shut and headed over to the passenger's seat. Dante pressed the throttle and the RV powered up. The vehicle left its spot, heading outside.

They stopped near the front office. Dante leaned forward.

"Excuse me, sir. We're leaving now."

The man in the counter jolted up. "Okay. Please hold for a moment, sir."

The man typed in Dante's name on the computer, confirming his spot and arrival time. He also checked all the payments of staying throughout March and nodded.

"You're good to go, sir. You didn't forget anything did you?" The man spun around.

Dante chuckled. "I didn't. Anyways, thanks for the hospitality."

"I'm just doing my job." The man replied.

Dante smiled and straightened. He stepped on the accelerator. The man watched the RV leave, leaning back in his chair.

"The record of the King's stay is gonna skyrocket our visitors." He chuckled.

Missio leaned back, his fingers sliding through his long hair. He controlled his senses to a precise degree. Hearing the waves of the ocean, he smirked slightly. He opened his eyes, activating his X-ray. He blinked, seeing every person's skeleton. He turned the X-ray off and turned towards his brother.

"Where are we going now?"

Hearing Missio question, Dante couldn't help but smile. He turned a corner, exiting Verona.

"Venice." He replied.

Missio raised his brows. "Nice."

Dante exhaled, staring at the road. After a few minutes of driving, he entered the highway. He pulled out his phone, placing it in the middle. He tapped the smart panel built into the RV. He swiped to the GPS. Selecting Venice, he tapped to start the journey. Seeing the time to reach the city of water, the supreme commander sighed.

"A day? Really?"

He gazed at the road again. The RV drowned in silence. Missio pressed his Music Box. A melody blasted through his ears exciting his cells. Dante glanced at his brother then, at his mobile device.

'Has she calmed down yet? Should I do it?'

He contemplated for a few moments. He grabbed his phone and it brightened. He swiped down and deactivated 'Do not Disturb'. The device froze for a moment. Dante inhaled heavily, gazing at the highway. After a few seconds, a thousand messages and missed calls sprawled onto his screen. But before he could read any of them, his fiancé called him. Dante trusted his instincts and picked up the call.

"Hello?" he called out.

From the other side, a soft voice spoke.

"Dante… please, come back… I'm sorry…" Isabella whimpered.

Dante reeled back, clicking his tongue.

"I'm afraid I can't do that, baby."

Isabella's breath hitched, hearing Dante's words.

"B-Baby? You called me, baby?!" Isabella exclaimed excitedly.

Dante tilted his head, internally regretting his decision. "Yes… I did. Now, as I said I can't back right now."

"No – No – No, we're not moving on from this. You called me baby for the first time in our relationship. I'm not moving on from this!"

Dante laughed awkwardly.

'I'm gonna regret this…'

He drew a sharp breath and opened his mouth.

"Then, I believe you don't want to hear about our wedding plans?"

Isabella went silent before her voice exploded.

"Of course, I do!"

"Really?" Dante inquired in a sarcastic voice. "It seems you're more hung up on that 'baby' bit, babe."

Isabella's voice hitched. "Wha-? No – Yes, Um, Uh…No, I'm not! I want to – to – to – The Wedding!"

Dante burst into laughter. He glanced and saw a car ahead. He braked instinctively, barely avoiding a collision.

"That was close." He heaved a sigh.

"THE WEDDING FOR GOD'S SAKE!!! WHEN?!" Isabella screamed.

"I'm not liking that attitude, babe. I might cancel it." Dante reprimanded.

Isabella froze. A long silence took over the conversation. Dante coughed, looking over at the GPS. Right then, Isabella's spoke again.

"I'm sorry…" She whimpered.

"Good. Now as an apology for leaving you after proposing…" Dante said. "I'm giving you the green light to… spend as much money as you want for our wedding."

Isabella's breath hitched one more. She couldn't contain her excitement as she replied to her fiancé.

"Yes! Thank you!"

Dante smiled. "Don't worry."

"When is it going to happen?" Isabella asked excitedly.

"Mm…" Dante thought for a moment. "How about December?"

"Can we do it earlier?" Isabella inquired.

"No… I'm packed until November."

"Okay!" Isabella stated excitedly. "I'm gonna tell Mom and Dad – Bye!"

Surprisingly, Isabella hung up first.

"Wow…" Dante raised his brows, staring at his screen.

He placed the device back in the middle. Missio tilted his head, watching his elder brother with a slight smile on his face.

"Am I invited?" He inquired, chuckling.

"Of course, you are. Idiot." Dante laughed awkwardly as the realization of his marriage settled.
