/ POV Alice /
Alice sat beside Sana's bed, quietly typing her thoughts on her phone. Her hands trembled, tapping very slowly, like her mind had something stuck deep inside that she couldn't even understand herself. It really made her feel confused right now. The phone screen glowed in the dark room, her eyes feeling tired from staring at it for too long. A soft breeze drifted into the room, making the atmosphere feel calm and cool. But her mind wasn't stable. Her thoughts were just a mess.
[What should I do now…?]
She looked at Sana's face, her expression confused while her eyes wandered back and forth aimlessly. Her hand moved on its own, not by her will, while her mind stayed trapped inside her own world.
[I'm just a shy girl… I've never shown my feelings to anyone.]
She felt confused about her own emotions while clutching her hand against her chest. Her heart felt strange whenever she was around Sana. It made him feel like her fate, like the destined love stories from the old novels she used to read in her past life. Was this just an illusion created by her imagination? Or was it simply her desire to love someone so deeply that it made her fall for Sana this fast? Because of his kindness? The way he treated her like she was more than just a new friend. Like he somehow knew her before they even met...
[I can't trust people… I'm scared of everything… even my father…]
Her hand trembled. She hugged herself tightly while struggling not to let her hand move out of control and touch Sana. Alice felt annoyed by these feelings. She looked around the room, trying to calm herself, but her thoughts were still a mess. She didn't even understand herself anymore.
She let out a soft breath… then looked back at Sana. Her face slowly relaxed, and a gentle smile appeared on her lips. Her hand brushed through her messy hair before stopping when she noticed Sana smiling softly in his sleep. She shook her head.
[Why am I overthinking?]
She gently slapped her own cheeks with both hands, trying to control her emotions. Her cheeks became slightly red. But her face turned even redder when she realized what she truly felt toward her hero now.
[There's only one thing I'm sure about… this... My hero, I can't stop it,... you're my fate to be with me, right?]
She nodded softly, almost like she was pretending Sana had accepted her question… or maybe it was just another illusion to make herself feel better in this hellish world she lived in now. What a sad life for someone like her. So lonely… or maybe she was just overthinking. Maybe someone else had a worse life than hers. But she still hoped for happiness in this cruel world, even if everything felt like an eternal fake dream...
Her smile deepened as her out-of-control fingers slowly poked Sana's cheek. She hid her smile while watching Sana look slightly annoyed in his sleep from being teased like that... But Alice didn't stop. She truly wanted Sana to feel her presence more and more, even through all the suffering and pain in this cruel world.
With a conflicted expression, she finally stopped teasing him while Sana unconsciously rubbed his cheek like something had been bothering him.
[I need a plan… a perfect plan to make my dream come true.]
She moved closer to him, her face becoming unreadable. Her eyes glowed with something beyond understanding. With determined hands, she clenched them tightly while staring at Sana with intense eyes, like she was about to swear something deep inside her soul.
[First… make him fall in love with me.]
She paused… then smiled to herself. Her expression turned mischievous while countless plans formed inside her head.
[No… I don't even need to worry about that.]
[He's already falling for me.]
Her fingers tightened slightly around her phone.
[But his family… I still don't understand them.]
[Especially his sister… something is wrong with her.]
Her expression darkened as memories slowly surfaced.
That day…
When she visited his house.
No one cared about him.
And then—
A faint sound.
Crying.
His sister's voice.
And their mother's words—
"You shouldn't feel that way about your brother…
I won't let you fall into that darkness…"
Silence.
Alice's grip tightened.
[So that's it…]
[His sister… has feelings for him.]
A sharp pain stabbed her chest.
[What if…]
[What if he only sees me as a friend…?]
[Like Zure…]
Her expression twisted slightly.
[No…]
She shook her head.
[If he felt that way… he would want to see her.]
[But he doesn't.]
Her breathing slowly steadied.
[He made a promise with me.]
[That's enough.]
A faint smile slowly turned into something darker.
[Even if that girl loves him…]
[I'll destroy her.]
[Even if she's his sister.]
[He belongs to me.]
[Only me.]
A quiet, unsettling smile formed on her lips.
[Father…]
[I'll forgive you… one last time.]
[If you accept us.]
[If not…]
Her eyes turned cold.
[I'll never see you as my father again.]
[Zure…?]
Her gaze slowly shifted back to Sana.
[I'm not afraid anymore.]
[As long as I have him…]
[I'll destroy anything that stands in our way.]
She paused.
[But… I need to control this feeling…]
[If it grows too much… he might get scared…]
A small laugh escaped from her lips.
[Why do I sound like a yandere…?]
[But… I love this feeling.]
She looked at him again softly.
[My future…]
[I'll become someone worthy of you.]
[You sacrificed yourself for me…]
[So I have to deserve you… right?]
She slowly picked up her phone.
Then dialed.
"Dad… I need to talk to you."
Her voice was calm.
"This is your last chance."
"If you don't agree with me…"
"I won't see you as my father anymore."
A pause.
A nervous voice answered.
"Y-yes… my precious daughter… what do you want?"
Alice smiled.
Soft.
Dangerous.
"I want…"
