The basketball court was eerily silent; you could hear a pin drop.
However, it quickly erupted into noise.
"Hey! Does he even know what he's saying?"
"Someone actually dared to provoke Ryu to his face! This is going to be interesting."
"Did you hear that? That guy said he'd steal the starting position from Ryu!"
"Hahaha... He doesn't know Ryu's strength!"
The court erupted in laughter.
Haizaki Shogo completely ignored the surrounding chatter.
He simply stared at Ryu with ill intent and said provocatively,
"Are you scared? If so, just be straightforward and give up your starting position."
Nijimura Shuzo's eyelids twitched uncontrollably, his lips twitching incessantly; he couldn't bear to look at him.
He tilted his head back, covered his face, and sighed bitterly inside.
'You big idiot, of all people to mess with, you had to pick on that monster, Ryu.'
Over the past few months,
he had personally witnessed Ryu's growth.
Ryu was constantly shattering his worldview.

Ryu smiled slightly at Haizaki Shogo.

He picked up a basketball from the ground and said to him.
"Didn't you want to take my starting position? Well then! I'll give you that chance, if you have the ability."
Hearing this, Haizaki Shogo smiled triumphantly, took off his school uniform, and tossed it aside.
He slowly walked onto the court, stood in front of Ryu, and adopted an arrogant, condescending posture.
Ryu simply tossed the basketball to him.
"You're the challenger, you go first."
Haizaki Shogo caught the basketball, paused slightly, then grinned.
"It doesn't matter, the result is the same anyway."
The surrounding crowd didn't stop him.
They walked to the sidelines, watching the duel with interest.
Bang...bang...bang...
Haizaki Shogo, a wicked smile on his face, dribbled the basketball, facing off against Ryu.
Ryu merely bowed slightly, his arms casually outstretched.
Seeing Ryu's blatant disregard for him, Haizaki Shogo's heart suddenly hardened, and a cold snort arose within him.
Haizaki Shogo took a step forward, attempting to break through to Ryu's right.
Ryu stepped to the right, easily blocking Haizaki Shogo's advance.
Haizaki Shogo was somewhat surprised.
He hadn't expected Ryu to be able to keep up with his speed.
Considering Ryu's status as a starting player, such speed was to be expected.
He looked at Ryu and said with amusement.
"Oh, not bad."
Ryu didn't speak, simply watching him quietly.
Feeling disappointed, Haizaki Shogo withdrew his movement, preparing to find another opportunity to attack.
Bang...bang...bang...
Haizaki Shogo lowered his stance, this time lunging towards Ryu's left.
Ryu, as before, simply took a step, blocking Haizaki Shogo's path.
Haizaki Shogo's lips curled into a smile.
"I knew you'd do this."
With that, Haizaki Shogo suddenly spun around, tracing a C-shaped curve to appear to Ryu's right.
The spectators were all surprised by this.
"I didn't expect that annoying guy to be so good."
"Someone the captain would choose couldn't be without skill."
"That rookie is strong, but compared to Ryu..."
At this point, everyone shook their heads.
He were far inferior.
At this moment, Nijimura Shuzo also arrived beside the group.
Upon seeing him, someone asked.
"Captain, is it really okay to just let them fight like this?"
"It's fine. You've all seen that guy's personality. I originally planned to use an intra-team match to put him in his place, but I didn't expect him to go after Ryu."
Nijimura Shuzo explained to the group.
Squeak...squeak...squeak...
The sound of sneakers scraping against the floor was incessant.
Haizaki Shogo was no longer as composed as he had been at the beginning.
His brows were furrowed, his eyes dark and menacing.
More than two minutes had passed.
No matter what breakthrough method he used, Ryu could easily defend against it.

"Is this the source of your arrogance?"
Hearing Ryu's words, Haizaki Shogo's face darkened even more.
