3rd Pov:
The African savanna, a hot open grassland that stretches almost infinitely with trees scattered around, perfect for animals to rest in the shade.
The herbivorous animals graze across its land like it was a normal routine for them with a few occasionally raising their heads up, keeping an eye out for any predators. These herbivores vary from gazelles, zebras, wildebeest and a family of elephants.
At the base of a tree is an egg, almost as large as an ostrich egg but slightly leaner. Its twitches slightly as something attempts to break free.
A crack begins to form and soon its grows as well as more cracks begin to appear around the egg before the top half of it was pushed up by a small head and the egg falls on the ground as the egg smashes open revealing the little baby inside.
The creature is about the size of a small dog or chicken, its skin is dirty brown with red patches on its head and even deeper red with hints of purple on its throat, it also has small stubs all over the top part of its body, its body is slim and lean, perfect for agility with long legs.
The head is long and slightly narrow with razor sharp teeth inside its mouth. Its arms are small and unusable for any purpose and finally a very long tail.
'Ugh...what the hell happened.... Did someone kidnap me or something' the little creature thought as it shook its side to side, shaking off the wave of dizziness as it surveyed its surroundings.
'What the fuck?' The creature thought blinking several times before it attempted to stand up but it felt its body, different than their usual one.
Looking down at their body, the creature let out a panicked screech, 'What the hell happened to me?!'
'This has got to be a dream, gotta be, I'll wake in my bed soon enough' the creature tried to reassure itself.
'Okay [Y/N] calm down, calm down, deep breaths' the creature or [Y/N]repeated mentally.
[Y/N] took slow and calm breaths before taking in his surroundings more carefully, 'if this is a dream, then it's quite a realistic dream'
[Y/N] took a bit to assess his new 'dream' body and 5 minutes he manages to stand up perfectly, his tail raised as well as his head, peeking out from the long grass.
'Okay, this looks perfectly like damn Africa' [Y/N]thought as he eyed each animal with a strange sense of hunger.
He shake his head before looking back the egg and the tree he hatched from, 'alright, let's wake myself up'
[Y/N] rammed his head into the tree. He stumbled back slightly, almost falling over before shaking his head side to side, 'okay that felt real for sure'
He shook his head as he registered he got hurt, 'this can't be real, I got bloody isekai'ed!?'
'Okay, deep breaths' he repeated in his mind.
'Alright, I'm in Africa and I'm in some weird body' [Y/N] thought as he turned to look at the rest of his body, 'looks like I'm a dinosaur, terrific'
[Y/N] tests his legs strength by flexing them and jumping up and down before nodding approvingly. His stomach grumbles for a second, 'looks like I need to go hunting'
[Y/N] stretches his neck above the long grass to view a potential meal but everything around him is too big for him to take on, 'great, what am I supposed to do look for a carcass or a bug'
At that very moment, the sound of soft chittering resounded behind him on the tree. Turning his head to source, he spots a cockroach moving rapidly before coming to a stop as its antenna move in the air, tasting it.
[Y/N] sighs, 'It's either I starve or I eat what I gotta eat'
Reluctantly, [Y/N] slowly moves closer to the bug before staring at it for a few seconds before sniffing it a bit and its surprisingly nice before bolts forward and scooping it in his mouth.
He crunched down on the juicy bug. Soon he swallows it and closes his eyes, awaiting his stomach to throw it up but nothing happens.
His stomach accepts it, 'not bad, not bad at all, I was expecting something more gross' [Y/N] thought as he looked at the spot where the cockroach was, 'looks like I eating bugs for a while until I can successfully make a kill.
His new bodies instincts over way his current human one, suppressing the mindset of his original one and slowly integrating a new one for his survival.
'Alright, first order of business what am I' [Y/N] thought as he looked down at his body, his eyes immediately went down to his tiny arms.
'Definitely an abelisaurid, judging from the tiny arms, I've got no horns so I'm no carno nor majunga but my head does feel stronger, either way I've got a gernal idea of what I am' [Y/N] thought before moving around the tree for more bugs to feast upon.
He nipped at the tree as well as scratch it with his clawed feet as several bugs moved and revealed themselves from the noise and vibrations that [Y/N] is making.
Each bug he saw he devoured, each one more savoury than the last.
Once none came crawling out, [Y/N] turned his attention to a large fallen branch nearby. [Y/N] attempted to push the branch with his foot but it barely budged.
Growling, he used his head to lift it away but that only did slight better, he subconsciously barked at the fallen branch before scoffing and begin to dig with his foot.
His movement was quick almost bird like, the way his head tilts to one side and the other, occasionally looking up and around his surroundings in case any predators try to stalk him.
As he dug a few insects crawled away but they were caught by his jaws and eaten. Suddenly a sharp cry reached his ears as he perked up and shot his head up to see what was happening.
There at a considerable distance away is a cheetah chasing a gazelle at high speeds that seeing it in real life is unbelievable.
The cheetah was about to catch the herbivore but its front paw slipped before it rolled across the ground as the gazelle got away.
The cheetah's breathing was heavy and quick, laced with exhaustion. Its body sat sideways on the ground as it watched its prey get away.
[Y/N] watched the carnivore, ensuring that he doesn't do anything to allow it to hear him but sooner or later, it will sniff him out.
Silently, he lowers his body to ground as possible and makes distance away from it. The sound wind and the tickling grass against his new skin.
He continues to go far from his original location before he comes across a large dense bush with no leaves, only a branches covering it.
[Y/N] finds a small enough hole he can fit through and slips in. As he makes his way through the dense bush he sometimes find small insects he can snack on as well as push some branches out of the way.
Soon he reaches a small space he can sleep in but its currently occupied by a brown rat, about the size of a large squirrel, the little critter perked up at [Y/N]'s arrival as it hissed and screeched at him, trying to drive this strange creature off its home.
It stood up right using its hind legs and back end to make itself look bigger but all it did was just annoy the small lizard it was trying to drive off.
'God its annoying, but it looks tasty' [Y/N] thought as he subconsciously lick the side of his lips before leaping forward at the rats neck.
The rat didn't expect the attack and was surprised at the little dinosaurs jaws clamp around its neck, its teeth sinking deep into its flesh.
The rat screeched and clawed at [Y/N], trying desperately to get him off but didn't work. The small sleeping space has become and kill room as growls and rat screech's echo off it.
[Y/N] shook his head side to side like a savage while using one of his long legs to pin the struggling pest down.
[Y/N] continues to increase the pressure on its throat as the rat struggles to breathe before its body goes limp in [Y/N]'s grip.
He doesn't let go for a minute but soon relents and lets out a breath through his nose. [Y/N] subconsciously sniffed the dead animal as his instincts screamed to devour it.
Without hesitation, [Y/N] gauged down on his kill ripping its stomach open and revealing its juice insides for him to devour.
Each organ has a specific nutrition and they'll be vital for his growth and health so he can't eat carelessly.
He ate like someone who hasn't eaten in weeks, his lips were drenched in fresh blood. He would occasionally glance around cautious of this free meal wouldn't be noticed.
[Y/N] gripped a piece of the rats liver and rip it out before throwing it in the air and snapping it whole down his throat.
He looked down at the body of his kill, its stomach wide open, revealing what's left of its insides and blood flowing around it with flies all over it either devouring some of the meat or laying eggs for their young to feast upon when they hatch.
[Y/N] subconsciously licks his lips of the blood around them, 'dang, I don't feel anything other than fulfilment'
With him having his full and gaining a new home, [Y/N] will need remove the body and wash the blood off his mouth to rid the scent from it but the blood on ground will inadvertently bring predators, with this dense bush acting as a protective shield he'll be protected from bigger carnivores.
Dragging the body out of the dense bush and out in the open, [Y/N] takes a few seconds to survey the land for any predators laying in wait.
Nothing, just the distant sound of animals and the faint wind blowing against his body.
[Y/N] dragged the body further out in the open before he ran back to a more secure spot, eyeing every possible ambush point.
Next stop is a water, [Y/N] sniff the air in different directions before catching the scent of water nearby. He checked his surroundings one last time before trotting to the water source he smells.
He stays hidden in the grass ensuring no one sees him, sometimes he would stop and poke his head out of the grass to peek around his surroundings before continuing his journey.
He continued to trot until the grass became unusable so he cautiously moved with him glancing around. He soon reaches a small drop where down below is a medium sized watering hole where other animals are drinking from.
Ranging from the usual gazelle and zebras with the extra baboons and vultures, jumping down with a skip in his steps.
Walking down cautiously like a chameleon, the other animals watch [Y/N] with curiosity and extreme caution due to the blood around his mouth and since they've never seen anything like him at all.
He moves through their curious gazes and goes to the waters edge but the thought of every animal in the savanna getting attack by crocodiles in documentaries he's seen replay in his mind.
But judging by how comfortable these creatures are drinking he doubts there are any.
'just in case' [Y/N] thought before picking up a pebble with his mouth and throwing it in the water close to where he would be drinking.
Nothing happens other than the pebble sinking into the water. Satisfied, [Y/N] moves forward and begins to drink the water as well as clean the blood off his mouth.
The cool water downs his throat, cooling his body slightly from the hot land. While he drinks he also eyes each creature here as he can't trust anyone here at the moment, especially humans.
Once he had his fill he straightens his body before going under the shade of a tree and lying down to gather his thoughts.
'Okay, I'm a dinosaur in Africa and in what time period, I don't know but I hope it's not in world war' [Y/N] thought before letting out a big yawn, showcasing his sharp teeth to the world with his tongue flicking around in his mouth.
Some the animals, mainly the herbivores instantly zero in on his teeth and recognised the features of a meat eater and huddle slightly to one another slightly.
[Y/N] shakes his head to shake off the drowsiness, he shifts his head as he nibbles on an itch on his stomach.
'Better head back and rest for today' [Y/N] thought as he got up, under the cautious gazes of the herbivores.
[Y/N] leaves the watering hole and uses the same trail to head back to his dense bush home, occasionally peeking out of the grass to survey his surroundings.
He reaches the edges of his coverage of the grass as he peeks out from his spot and glance around for any predators but nothing so far so he sprints to his bush and move in.
Once he reached the small space, [Y/N] immediately laid down and rest his head on the crunchy leaves which have a slight softness to them compared to the hard ground below.
'I wonder how my life's gonna turn out' he thought as he entered the worlds of dreams.
