Chapter 38 - The Reunion

Chapter 62 – The Reunion

Walter and Sarah walked toward the living room, her clinging tightly to his arm, trembling with fear. A thousand thoughts raced in her mind. Her inner voice did nothing to help her calm down.

Sarah's Inner Voice whispered, full of panic: What are you doing? Are you naive or stupid? Don't you see this is a trap? Don't go!

Sarah squeezed Walter's arm, speaking in her mind: Shut up, you know nothing. They're good friends.

The Voice laughed sarcastically: No, they're just playing with you, like everyone always has.

Sarah screamed silently, desperately inside her mind: Shut up! Shut up! SHUT UUUUUU!

The voice fell silent. Sarah allowed herself a small victorious smirk. I won, she thought.

Titus, Bruno, and Cristal, upon seeing Walter and Sarah entering the room, hurried toward her.

Bruno reached her first and gave her a hug so strong it lifted her off the floor.

"So good you're okay! I was really scared for you and the others."

Sarah was almost breathless, forcing the words: "Thaaank… youuuu…"

Bruno finally set her down. Sarah could breathe again.

She laughed nervously: "Hahaha! You're really strong."

Then it was Titus's turn. He hugged her—not as strongly as Bruno—but warmly. She hugged him back with equal intensity, yet holding herself a bit distant.

A pair of eyes watched her with hatred and disdain; jealousy boiling within.

Sarah spoke softly: "Thank you, Titus. I was really worried about you."

Titus replied: "I was even more. All of you are very important in my life."

Sarah began to smell that captivating scent that set her on fire from within. Something pushed her.

She gave him a long, soft, tender kiss. She pulled away very slowly, her eyes never leaving his.

Across the room, Cristal burned on the inside.

Cristal's Mind raged: Who does this stupid bitch think she is? He's mine, only mine! You'll see what happens for daring to flirt with my Alpha.

At that moment, the two girls gave each other a tight, sister‑like hug.

Sarah and Cristal spoke in unison: "I love you. I was worried about you."

A strong, long hug.

Sarah's Inner Voice reappeared, but now aligned with her ambition: This bitch thinks she's fooling us. But Titus is ours, no one else's. We have to eliminate her.

Sarah responded mentally to the voice: You're right, she's just in our way. Titus is ours.

Cristal's Mind seethed with a forced smile: You'll see, stupid. That smile won't last long. I swear it by the Two Moons.

They separated with big, bright smiles.

Cristal invited them to keep drinking tea and eating cookies. She served two cups of tea for Walter and Sarah.

Meanwhile, the boys were telling Walter, "Good job." Bruno hugged him with an intensity that made Walter feel something—something he didn't understand yet, but he liked it.

Bruno felt the same.

They all spent a couple of hours talking and laughing, preparing for the next day.
