After spending the entire day at the hospital with Ivy, Leo was finally sent home.
He had already missed school because he refused to leave his mother's side, insisting that he needed to stay and make sure she got better.
But Ivy had eventually sat him down and explained that taking care of her wasn't the only thing he needed to worry about.
"Leo, you have school for a reason," she'd told him gently. "You need to study too."
Leo had looked reluctant.
"But Mommy is still hurt."
"I'll be fine."
"You promise?"
"I promise."
Only after receiving that promise had Leo reluctantly agreed to leave.
However, before going, he had turned toward Xander with a deadly serious expression.
"Dad."
Xander had raised an eyebrow.
"What?"
"Take care of Mommy."
"I will."
"Don't let her feel uncomfortable."
"I won't."
"And make sure she drinks her medicine."
Xander's eyes narrowed slightly.
"I know."
Leo stared at him suspiciously for another few seconds before finally nodding.
"Good."
