By the time Xander returned after speaking with Edward, the first thing he noticed was the empty bed.
His eyes widened in alarm.
Without a second thought, he rushed out of the room, only stopping when he heard the sound of running water coming from the bathroom.
Just then, the bathroom door clicked open.
Ivy stepped out and paused when she saw Xander standing by the door, his hand still gripping the doorknob.
"Where are you going?" she asked, confused.
When she had woken up earlier, she'd noticed Xander talking to someone on the balcony. Not wanting to interrupt him, she had quietly gone to the bathroom instead.
But now, seeing him looking as though he was about to run somewhere, she couldn't help but frown.
The moment Xander saw her, relief washed over him.
Without wasting another second, he strode toward her.
"Where did you go?" he asked, his voice carrying an urgency that caught Ivy off guard.
She blinked in confusion.
"To the bathroom."
