Above the endless deep sea of the Sky Dome Continent!
"I, Meng Lei, sentence you… to death!"
A man bathed head to toe in crackling lightning stood proudly in the sky, gripping a spear of pure electric light. Twin wings of thunder and lightning spread from his back as he descended like a thunder god from the Ninth Heaven, his voice booming with majestic judgment!
Crack!
Two massive lightning dragons roared down from the heavens, carrying an aura of utter destruction as they hurtled toward the two colossal beasts ahead!
On the left was a golden dragon with a wingspan of over a thousand meters, its entire body shining with brilliant golden light.
On the right stood a Thunder Titan as tall as a mountain, wielding two enormous golden hammers.
"Damn it!"
"This madman!"
Sensing the annihilating power within the lightning dragons, both the golden dragon and the Thunder Titan's pupils shrank. They reacted instantly, surging with law energy—golden radiance and purple lightning forming protective barriers around them.
It was useless!
The lightning dragons smashed through the law shields like they were paper!
"AAAAHH—!"
The golden dragon and Thunder Titan screamed in agony as black smoke billowed from their bodies. Their scales and skin split open, charred black in an instant. They plummeted straight into the sea like two meteors, crashing with earth-shaking booms.
Meng Lei watched the scene, his heart surging with excitement!
He thought back to the past and savored the present.
He had done it!
He had finally done it!
In his previous life, he had been a nobody—an ordinary office worker glued to his keyboard, living a mundane, exhausting existence.
After crossing into this world, everything changed. From the very bottom, he had risen step by step, accomplishing one impossible miracle after another. Now he stood at the pinnacle of this world, trampling the oldest and most powerful beings on the Sky Dome Continent—the golden dragon and the Thunder Titan—beneath his feet!
Meng Lei swept his gaze across the surroundings, sword-like brows and starry eyes, looking down upon the world with contempt…
Thud—
A dull sound rang out.
The golden dragon vanished!
The Thunder Titan vanished!
Everything disappeared!
Meng Lei's eyes snapped open, his gaze blank.
Who am I?
Where am I?
What am I doing?
Oh… it was just a dream. No wonder it felt so fake!
Meng Lei gave a self-deprecating laugh. Maybe he still hadn't fully adjusted after arriving in this world—that was why he was having such a ridiculous dream.
Bam bam bam—
"Little Meng Lei, wake up! The beast tide is coming!"
The rickety wooden door shook violently as urgent knocking echoed through the room. Outside, the village elder Old Pete shouted anxiously, "Little Meng Lei, the beast tide is here! Hurry to the underground shelter! I have to notify the others!"
"The beast tide!!!"
Meng Lei jolted awake, scrambling out of bed and bolting toward the center of the village.
"Beast tide!!!"
"Shit! I actually ran into a beast tide right after arriving! I must've offended the gods in my last eight lifetimes!"
Meng Lei cursed inwardly as he sprinted.
Just days ago, he had been an ordinary salaryman on Earth—commuting between company and home, struggling to make ends meet.
Then he woke up and found himself inexplicably transported to this world, now an ordinary villager in Demon Beast Village.
Sky Dome Continent!
That was what the people of this world called their realm.
It was a magical, completely different world from Earth.
There were no computers, no internet, no high-tech gadgets—but there were sky-shaking dragons, giants strong enough to move mountains, bizarre beastmen, nature-controlling elves, and all kinds of terrifying magical beasts…
"And mysterious magic and powerful battle qi!"
"This is an unbelievable world!"
Everything here filled Meng Lei with fear and unease. But what crushed him most was how unfriendly this world was to ordinary humans!!!
Because…
The rulers of this world were not the human race. They were winged dragons, dozens-of-meters-tall titans, strange beastmen, forest-dwelling elves, world-destroying magical beasts, and countless other races.
Humans!
They were merely vassals to the greater intelligent races—without civilization, without empires, without culture, without freedom…
They had nothing!!!
"This world is extremely dangerous!"
"How am I supposed to survive?"
What made Meng Lei want to collapse even more was that he had only just transmigrated and already run straight into a beast tide. It was literally a hell-mode start!
"Quick! All able-bodied men, follow me outside the village to hold back the beast tide!"
"Elderly, women, and children—head to the shelter immediately!"
A tall, muscular man over two meters high stood on a large rock, directing the villagers. His name was Hades, captain of the village guard and the strongest fighter in the village. Everyone respected and trusted him deeply.
Under his orders, the young and strong men gathered around him, while the elderly, women, and children hurried toward the shelter at the village center. Though everyone was panicked, the evacuation remained orderly.
Clearly, this wasn't their first rodeo.
"Of course… Demon Beast Village sits right on the edge of the Demon Beast Mountain Range, so beast tides hit them more than anyone else. The villagers have survived this nightmare many times before," Meng Lei thought with a sigh.
The Demon Beast Mountain Range ran across the entire continent, almost splitting the Sky Dome Continent into eastern and western halves. Countless wild beasts and magical beasts lived inside it, earning it the title "Most Dangerous Place on the Continent."
The wild beasts in the forest would periodically go berserk and swarm the villages on the outskirts. Every attack brought massive losses and deaths. The parents of this body's original owner had died in a previous beast tide.
In this world, human lives were the cheapest thing imaginable.
"I wonder how many people will die this time?" Meng Lei thought grimly.
By the time he reached the village center, the elderly, women, and children had already formed a long line. Uncle Leo, who was guarding the shelter entrance, shouted, "Don't push! One at a time! Hold the ladder steady down there!"
The shelter was built dozens of meters underground—like a tunnel or bunker—connected by a ladder. A massive boulder sat beside the entrance, ready to be rolled over the opening to seal it.
The boulder was enormous, at least two or three meters tall and incredibly sturdy. Meng Lei breathed a small sigh of relief. With a rock that big blocking the entrance, the shelter should be pretty safe, right?
Wait… what if everyone outside died? Could a bunch of old people, women, and children even push that giant rock aside to get out?
Meng Lei's heart sank at the thought.
"ROOOAR—!"
"AWOOO—!"
"Kill them!"
"Slaughter these beasts!"
Distant roars of beasts and the sounds of fierce combat drifted over, making everyone's blood run cold. Though Meng Lei really wanted to see what the magical beasts of this world looked like, he knew it was only a fantasy. He was still just a scrawny teenager, part of the group that needed protecting. His job was to get into the shelter, not run out and cause trouble.
"What are you standing there for? Get down there now!" Uncle Leo barked.
Meng Lei snapped back to attention and quickly replied, preparing to descend. Just then, he noticed something white and glowing fall from Uncle Leo's body.
"Uncle Leo, you dropped something!"
Meng Lei paused to warn him. At that exact moment, a cold, mechanical voice suddenly rang in his ear:
"Ding! Discovered a dropped item. Would you like to pick it up?"
"(⊙o⊙)…"
Meng Lei froze. He glanced at Uncle Leo. In the short time it took, all the elderly, women, and children had already gone down. Only he and Uncle Leo remained outside.
"What are you looking at? Hurry up and get inside!" Uncle Leo snapped, his face stern. "Stop dawdling! I still have to go help defend the village entrance!"
Clearly, the voice had not come from Uncle Leo.
"Was that… my imagination?"
