Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Attribute Growth, Water Pool Salamander

"Boom— Boom— Boom—"

A several-meter-wide white cascade of water thundered down from the cliff, smashing into the pool below and sending countless pearl-like splashes flying. The pool water was crystal clear, and the surrounding trees formed a dense forest. It was truly a picturesque and beautiful spot!

A ten-meter-long "crocodile" lay sprawled on the sandy ground beside the pool, comfortably sunbathing. Its eyelids were half-closed, its breathing steady, looking utterly relaxed and content!

"Crack—!"

However, at that moment, a deafening sound rang out as a lightning bolt as thick as an arm suddenly descended from the sky, striking the "crocodile" with pinpoint accuracy. The massive creature's body immediately began convulsing violently, twitching as if it had taken a massive dose of ecstasy!

"Move!"

The next second, three burly men burst out from the bushes and charged toward the convulsing "crocodile"!

"Milo, block its path! Don't let it get into the pool! Once it enters the water, it'll be much harder to deal with!"

"Yale, Bobby, you two distract it from the sides and keep it pinned down!"

"Got it!"

"Understood!"

The female mage Allison began chanting her magic spell!

That's right!

This group was none other than the four-person adventuring party that Monroe had encountered earlier. The only difference was that their team now had an extra member — the "lost" … Monroe!

"Hehe, another fight!"

Monroe hid in the bushes, watching Allison and the others engage in battle once again, his eyes flashing with anticipation!

This was the third battle he had witnessed since joining the four-person team!

The first was a fierce fight against eight Iron Fire Ants!

Iron Fire Ants were Level 1 fire-attribute magical beasts. They possessed immense strength and bodies as hard as iron. Eight of them working together could kill an ordinary Level 2 magical beast — they were terrifyingly powerful!

The second was a battle against a Swamp Poison Frog!

The Swamp Poison Frog was a Level 2 water-attribute magical beast. In addition to its water magic, it could launch deadly poison attacks and sonic waves. Its methods were endless, making it an extremely troublesome Level 2 magical beast!

The third was a fight against a Chrysanthemum Sky Pig!

The Chrysanthemum Sky Pig was a Level 2 earth-attribute magical beast skilled in earth magic. Its farts were incredibly foul-smelling, enough to knock out ordinary wild animals. While not particularly difficult to deal with, it was extremely disgusting!

The facts proved that Monroe's decision had been very wise!

After personally witnessing these three battles, Monroe had not only enjoyed three thrilling blockbuster-style spectacles but had also gained massive benefits!

And sure enough — his personal attributes had grown!

Host: Monroe Race: Human Wealth: 239 Gold Coins Physique: Apprentice Warrior (75/100) Spirit: Ordinary Person (9/10) Magic Power: Ordinary Person (7/10) Magic: Fireball Spell, Thorn Vine, Water Bubble Spell

Whether it was Physique, Spirit, or Magic Power, all had increased significantly compared to before. At the same time, he had also acquired a new spell — Water Bubble Spell!

Although it was still only a Level 1 spell, it was still magic, and its value was considerable!

As for the 239 gold coins in wealth, that came from Monroe delivering the killing blows to two Iron Fire Ants…

Cough, of course Monroe didn't have the ability to actually kill Iron Fire Ants by himself. But when the ants were already severely wounded and on the verge of death, he could still step in and deliver the final blow.

In the system's eyes, however, this was no different from him personally killing them.

Therefore, by finishing off two Iron Fire Ants, Monroe earned 200 gold coins. He had successfully exploited a loophole in the system — a pleasant surprise!

"I wonder what I'll pick up this time?"

Having gained experience from the previous fights, Monroe was full of anticipation for this battle. According to Allison and the others, the "crocodile" before them was actually a Water Pool Salamander!

It was said that this creature possessed a trace of water-type giant dragon bloodline. Not only was its physical body incredibly strong, but it was also skilled in water magic — a rather powerful Level 2 magical beast!

Especially since it was near the pool, which greatly enhanced the Water Pool Salamander's abilities. It wouldn't be easy to kill.

"Ding! Detectable loot detected. Would you like to pick it up?"

"Hehe, fierce battles always make it easiest for items to drop. What did it drop this time?"

"Pick it up! Hurry and pick it up!"

"Ding! Fusion successful. Host's Physique +8!"

"Tsk tsk, another Physique boost!"

"With this, my Physique is now at 83. I'm about to break through the 100 mark!"

Breaking through 100 meant becoming a Level 1 Warrior!

Although there was only one level difference between Apprentice Warrior and Level 1 Warrior, the gap in actual strength was enormous. Monroe couldn't wait to become a Level 1 Warrior!

"Boom— Boom— Boom—"

On the other side, the battle was extremely intense!

The Water Pool Salamander looked clumsy, but its movements were actually extremely agile and nimble. Its thick limbs moved quickly, and with the help of its powerful tail, it prevented Milo and the other two from gaining much advantage!

"By the God of War! This beast's scales are too tough! I can't even cut through them! What do we do? Think of something!"

"I can't either! Looks like we can only attack its weak points!"

"Allison, use your magic to paralyze the Water Pool Salamander! I'll go for its eyes!"

"Alright!"

Allison finished chanting her spell, and a lightning dragon descended from the sky, slamming viciously onto the Water Pool Salamander's body!

This lightning dragon was clearly much more powerful. The spot on the salamander's back that was struck turned charred black, exposing bright red flesh underneath. At the same time, the Water Pool Salamander began convulsing violently!

"Perfect opportunity!"

Seizing the moment while the salamander was paralyzed, the slim young man Bobby instantly appeared above its head. The dagger in his hand flashed like a streak of light as he stabbed toward the salamander's right eye!

"Die, you beast!"

Bobby's gaze was ice-cold, confident of victory!

But what he never expected was that, at this critical life-or-death moment, a wall of water suddenly appeared in front of the Water Pool Salamander, blocking his sharp dagger!

The dagger stabbed into the water wall as if it had sunk into a ball of cotton. Its speed abruptly stalled. The Water Pool Salamander seized the chance, tilting its head to the side and dodging the fatal strike!

The dagger grazed the corner of the salamander's eye and stabbed into its neck, sending sparks flying, but it failed to cause any real damage!

"Missed!"

Bobby was shocked. He immediately retreated explosively, no longer daring to linger.

"What a shame! Such a perfect opportunity!"

"If Bobby had hit it, this beast would have been dead for sure!"

Milo, who wielded a giant axe, and the other large swordsman Yale both looked on with deep regret. Missing this golden opportunity meant it would be much harder to kill the Water Pool Salamander. They would at least have to wait for Allison to prepare her magic again!

And in that short time, who knew how crazy the salamander might go!

"What a pity!"

The tall, freckled mage Allison also secretly lamented the missed chance.

However, what no one expected was that the Water Pool Salamander suddenly let out a miserable, shrill scream. Its massive body began thrashing violently!

"What's going on?"

Allison and the other three were shocked. They saw a person clinging to the salamander's back — it was Monroe! He was holding a dagger and frantically stabbing into the creature's back, causing blood to spray everywhere!

"This is…"

Milo, Bobby, and the others widened their eyes in disbelief. They realized the person was Monroe, and the dagger was stabbing precisely at the spot that had been blasted open by Allison's lightning dragon earlier — the charred area where the red flesh was now exposed.

"Die! Die for me!"

Monroe looked almost insane as he stabbed wildly at the Water Pool Salamander. But he wasn't stabbing randomly — he was targeting the creature's… spine!

In his previous life, he had watched many outdoor survival shows. There was a guy called Bear Grylls who had once severed the spine of a short-nosed crocodile and easily killed it!

Monroe wanted to test whether this trick would work on the Water Pool Salamander too!
