Galon bids farewell to Bran, his heart heavy with unspoken thoughts.
As he pondered the events of the previous night, he walked toward Winterfell's training ground.
" What Bran said is most likely true, but what are the old gods ' intentions?"
"And what I experienced last night..."
Galon felt uneasy whenever he thought about the strangeness in his soul.
He doesn't trust the old gods.
To be precise, Galon did not believe in any of the gods.
He only believes in himself!
Even if the protection granted by the old gods could make him immune to the influence and control of other gods.
" The protection of the old gods..."
Galon sighed. "Since we can't avoid it, we might as well accept it."
"Besides, with this thing, Melisandre shouldn't be able to use magic on me anymore..."
To seize the iron throne, Stannis is an enemy he must defeat.
But Stannis had Melisandre to assist him.
In Galon's eyes, this woman who believed in the Lord of Light and possessed various strange magic spells was more difficult to deal with than an army of ten thousand.
At this moment, Galon walked out of the guest room corridor and appeared on the training ground.
"Sir, the soldiers are ready to march, and Mihawk has already set off for the Baihe ferry..."
"Hey, I feel like you're... even more... energetic today, sir?"
Ron, who was originally part of the team, saw Galon appear and quickly ran up to him to report the situation.
But as soon as they met, he noticed that Galon's demeanor was more dignified than it had been the day before.
Especially when Galon's red eyes stared at Ron, it instilled in him an inexplicable sense of awe.
"oh?"
"It's probably because I got a good night's rest yesterday."
Galon didn't pay any attention, gave a casual reply, and then walked past Ron to inspect the army.
But when he turned his gaze, he found that on the right side of the training ground, Cley Cerwyn was also standing there with more than two hundred of his remaining soldiers from yesterday.
" Clay, what brings you here?"
Galon frowned and couldn't help but ask.
In last night's plan, he only agreed to let Sevon's two hundred remaining soldiers go with him, not including Cley Cerwyn.
But Clay's eyes were filled with the flames of revenge, and he pleaded with Galon with longing.
"Lord Galon, Sevon is my home. How can I hide in Winterfell and do nothing!"
"I want revenge!"
Galon's eyes flickered slightly, and after thinking for a moment, he agreed.
" Clay, you can come with me, but you must do everything according to my orders!"
Clay nodded. "Yes, everyone in Sevon obeys the master's orders!"
Upon seeing this.
Galon took the reins from the groom and mounted his horse.
"All troops, attack!"
At Galon's command, a thousand soldiers filed out of the main gate of Winterfell.
Sansa, Jon, and Maester Luwin stood on the wall to see Galon and the others off.
After all the soldiers had left Winterfell, Galon turned back and nodded to Jon, then spurred his horse and led his men toward Sevon.
Jon had the gate closed while watching Galon and the others leave.
Only after the army was out of sight did he accompany Sansa back to the inner fortress.
On the other side, Galon silently led his army forward.
They set off at dawn, and the thousand-strong army didn't arrive at the open fields north of Sevon until around 1 p.m.
As Sevon's outline became clearer, an ominous premonition quietly spread through Galon's heart.
"It's too quiet!"
Galon gestured for the army to stop, and then he took out his binoculars and looked at Sevon.
"How about it?"
Ron, who was standing nearby, rode up to Galon's right side and asked a question.
Galon handed him the binoculars and told him to look for himself.
" Euron has probably already run away!"
There were no sea monster flags or heavily armed guards in the entire Sevon.
There was only a deathly silence, and an indescribable stench of burning and decay wafting in on the cold wind.
"Damn Ironborn!"
Ron cursed angrily as he saw through his binoculars dozens of charred corpses hanging from the walls of Sevon.
"Have the cavalry spread out and be on high alert!"
"Send another small detachment into the city to scout ahead. Once we've confirmed that no one is there, then we'll go in!"
Galon was well aware of Euron's brutal nature and knew that Sevon had probably become a living hell.
As expected.
When the small cavalry unit that had been sent out returned, they were all pale-faced and looked terrible.
One of the soldiers had vomit residue on the corner of his mouth.
"grown ups.."
The captain of the ten-man squad felt nauseous at the thought of the situation inside the city and forced himself to report, "There are no enemies inside the city. Only... ruins!"
When Galon saw him like this, his heart sank.
"Enter the city, all troops!"
"Maintain battle formation and remain vigilant at all times!"
With a flick of his whip, the army slowly drove toward Sevon.
Half an hour later, the scene that came into view took everyone's breath away.
Sevon can no longer be called a castle; it is more like a huge, cold tomb.
Everywhere there are broken walls and ruins.
The castle courtyards and passageways were littered with uncollected corpses, including soldiers, but more civilians, men, women, and even children.
Their deaths were gruesome; many were clearly tortured and then carelessly abandoned.
The frozen blood on the ground congealed into dark red ice flakes, and the stench of the corpses permeated the entire castle.
Even the castle's blacksmith shop and kitchen were completely smashed.
There was nothing of value, no food, and not even any intact furniture.
Before leaving, Euron destroyed everything he could not take with him, leaving only despair and death.
"No, Cley Cerwyn's eyes widened, unable to believe that this was the home she had lived in for so many years."
He let out a whimper like a wounded beast, ran off his horse, and scanned every familiar yet unrecognizable scene with his eyes.
What was once a home is now a living hell!
He walked into the council chamber in a daze; it was a complete mess.
The family banners were torn and trampled, and the tables and chairs were used as fuel for the fire.
"Father...I'm sorry..."
"My home...is gone..."
Clay muttered to himself.
His body began to tremble uncontrollably, his face turned ashen, and his breathing became rapid. He was on the verge of fainting from extreme grief and anger.
Just then, a steady and powerful hand landed on his shoulder—it was Galon!
Galon offered no empty words of comfort. His gaze swept over the scene of carnage, his eyes burning with the same rage of shared hatred for the enemy.
He fixed his gaze on Seaworth, but his voice was unusually calm, carrying an undeniable power.
" Cley Cerwyn!"
Clay stared blankly at Galon, his eyes unfocused.
"Remember all of this!"
Galon's voice wasn't loud, but it carried an inspiring power.
" Crows Eye has given us a great gift, attempting to instill fear in us through his brutal methods."
"But fear can destroy a person, or it can forge a person!"
Galon squeezed Clay's shoulder hard, and the pain made Clay a little more awake.
" Seaworth, do you want revenge?"
"It's true revenge—the same methods that Crows Eye used on Sevon are being used against him in the same way!"
"Do you want to?!"
Clay's eyes finally focused, and Galon's words ignited an almost insane flame in his heart.
He nodded forcefully, choking back tears, and said, "I want to! I want Euron to pay for his crimes in blood!"
"Then shut your tears and your weakness!" Galon hissed. "Your father is still fighting for Robb, and you are now the lord of Sevon. These dead are your responsibility!"
"Take up your sword and wash away this shame with the blood of Euron and the sea monster!"
Galon's words greatly provoked Clay, making the flames of revenge in his heart impossible to suppress.
But in his anger, Clay surprisingly calmly realized that Sevon alone could not possibly carry out the revenge.
" Giant Bear Slayer is loyal and brave; he will definitely help me!"
Thinking of this, Clay bowed respectfully to Galon and said, "You are right, Lord Galon!"
"From this day forward, Sevon will obey your orders, my lord. I beg you to allow me to follow you and carry out my revenge!"
A hint of joy flashed in Galon's eyes as he helped him up and made a promise.
"The North will never forget!"
"Since I have been entrusted by Lord Robb, I will do my utmost to wipe out the Ironborn of the North!"
" Clay, now go do what you're supposed to do!"
He pointed to the corpses outside and said, "Collect the bodies, assess the losses, and gather the remaining Seaworth vassals!"
"Revenge requires strength, but it also requires patience!"
Clay nodded heavily, turned and left to carry out Galon's orders.
" Seaworth is mine!"
Galon watched his departing figure, a smile playing on his lips.
Seaworth was now at his disposal.
The only thing left to truly be devoted to you is a trivial act of revenge!
