Chapter 100 - Chapter 100: "But, I Refuse!"

Everyone in the room stared at Gilgamesh, who had transformed at the speed of light, looking completely bewildered.

However, having witnessed the fact that King Arthur was a girl just yesterday, it didn't feel quite as shocking.

At this moment, Jean Stardust finally understood what Ai-chan meant when she said so mysteriously, 'It might be a good thing for you.'

However, after turning into a female Gilgamesh, her previous declaration was no longer so infuriating, and her overbearing attitude wasn't quite as annoying either.

But joining someone else's harem was absolutely impossible, and watching her sit on the main seat in a queenly posture, looking down at Jean Stardust, also made Jean Stardust very unhappy.

This displeasure didn't stem from being offended or anything like that, but rather from the deepest part of their heart—a nameless frustration.

So, Jean Stardust decisively expressed their refusal:

"But, I refuse! If you were to join my harem, I might consider it, but the reverse is absolutely impossible."

"Are you refusing the grace bestowed upon you by the King?!"

Gilgamesh frowned, and a biting aura burst forth. This was the terror of Charisma A+. An ordinary person would probably be groveling on the ground by now, begging for forgiveness.

But Jean Stardust was different; they had never bowed their head even when facing a true god, let alone before Gilgamesh's aura.

"The title of King only gains value because of the existence of the people by one's side. Calling oneself a King in front of irrelevant people is meaningless, nothing more than boasting."

"You!" Accompanied by Gilgamesh's anger, golden ripples appeared in the surrounding space, but then they suddenly vanished, and Gilgamesh's aura disappeared along with them.

As if having thought of something interesting, Gilgamesh's expression suddenly relaxed, and she said to Jean Stardust:

"Heh, remember what you just said. If you can say the same thing when you meet that guy, this King will acknowledge you."

Then, her body gradually turned into golden particles and dissipated, with her final words echoing in the space:

"Don't be so quick to refuse this King's proposal. Let me hear your answer again after the final battle."

---

After Gilgamesh had been gone for a while, everyone finally relaxed their battle stances.

"What 'final battle'? That Gilgamesh acts as if she's guaranteed to win." Rin complained, crossing her arms.

Hearing Gilgamesh propose to Jean Stardust made Rin feel very uncomfortable, but Jean Stardust's handsome, decisive rejection made her happy again.

Sakura, meanwhile, kept watching the way Rin looked at Jean Stardust, feeling a little discouraged inside; she feared she wouldn't be able to keep her Elder Sister's heart.

But soon, her fighting spirit reignited. As a girl who hadn't given up even after ten years of training under Scáthach, how could she be so discouraged? She resolved to save her Elder Sister from the clutches of this bad woman.

"You're right. Not only will she not make it to the end, but she's also about to be eliminated," Jean Stardust said seriously.

Gilgamesh's reaction wasn't normal; it was as if there was something in this Holy Grail War that she had to go all out for.

Analyzing her words just now, this enemy was also a King, so the first one to come to mind was undoubtedly King Arthur.

It's just that, although Lia is a top-tier Heroic Spirit, her strength is only slightly better than when Rin was her master in UBW. Even with the scabbard, she wouldn't be enough to fight a serious Gilgamesh.

That Gilgamesh clearly started acting like a riddle-monger the moment she saw Illya, so she must have had her 'All-Knowing and Omnipotent Star' activated, which makes it even harder to understand.

Damn it, as the Mushroom's biological father—oh, now the Mushroom's biological mother—this female Gilgamesh is just too out of spec. With omniscience, there shouldn't be any enemy she can't handle. The only possibility is that her enemy is outside the scope of her omniscience.

Which means existences outside the Nasuverse, like Ai-chan, or perhaps Jean Stardust themselves.

At this point, Jean Stardust roughly understood the purpose of female Gilgamesh's visit: it was simply because the Star couldn't see their situation, so she came to test their attitude.

And then, through that declaration, she judged that they probably wouldn't be on the same side as her enemy, so she just left.

Of course, this was just a theory, and it didn't even quite fit the character of Gilgamesh as they remembered, but intuition told Jean Stardust that it was probably very close to the truth.

---

After being disrupted by female Gilgamesh, everyone's mood had dampened, so Jean Stardust decided to do something happy to cheer everyone up.

First, clapping their hands to attract everyone's attention, they poured a large amount of gold bars and gemstones from their spatial pouch onto the carpet, forming quite a pile.

Although others were just a bit surprised, Rin's eyes lit up with at least 1000 lux of brightness, and with a speed that even Cú Chulainn would envy, she jumped over, almost burying her head in the pile.

"Ah, Elder Sister is really something." Sakura covered her face with her hand, looking unable to bear watching.

Jean Stardust took out their phone and began taking continuous photos in a ruthless manner.

"Ah, this..." Coming back to her senses, Rin realized her behavior was inappropriate, but looking at the jewels in front of her, she seemed to give up thinking and hugged them again.

"Don't get excited, take it slow. These are all for you."

Just calculating based on monetary value, these gemstones could buy an entire street, especially in this post-bubble Japan, where in smaller places, they might even be enough to buy half a city.

So it was no wonder Rin was acting so boisterous right now.

She picked up the jewels, sorting through them while muttering to herself.

"Sapphire, pink diamond, moissanite, ruby, phosphophyllite, pezzottaite, black opal..."

However, Jean Stardust wasn't very clear about the specific types. They casually picked up a huge blue gemstone and read the word engraved on the setting.

"Hope?" When Jean Stardust read this word, Rin immediately looked over. After checking the gemstone with a simple spell, she let out an arrogant laugh that was no less than female Gilgamesh's.

"Hahahaha, a diamond! A blue diamond! The genuine Hope Diamond!"

Then, she started rubbing her face against the gemstone.

"What is that?" Rin's appearance was truly too much to bear, so Jean Stardust asked Sakura.

"The Hope Diamond is the prototype for the Heart of the Ocean in the movie Titanic. It's a famous cursed gemstone. After many of its owners died, it was donated."

Only then did Jean Stardust remember why the gemstone looked so familiar. But was a gemstone filled with such ominous nature really okay?

However, Rin gave a completely opposite answer:

"Although other rare gemstones can sell for very high prices, only a gemstone like this, filled with history and legend, can become the most excellent magical medium."
