~Elsie's POV
I was still sitting on the bed quietly when I heard the door open softly behind me.
I turned slightly, and my eyes landed on Salvatore standing by the entrance. He did not walk in immediately. He stayed there first, giving me enough space like he always did now.
His gaze moved over my face slowly, probably noticing that I had been crying again, but he did not mention it.
"Do you need anything?" he asked gently.
I shook my head at first.
Then after a small pause, I spoke quietly.
"I want to go outside," I said softly. "I need fresh air."
Something changed in his expression immediately. It wasn't a surprise exactly, more like relief mixed with happiness that I was asking for something instead of hiding inside the room again. He nodded quickly.
"Okay," he said gently. "Let us go outside."
