"Under the Same Rain"
The sky had been heavy all afternoon, as if it was waiting for the perfect moment to let go. When the rain finally started, it came softly at first—tiny drops tapping on the pavement like a secret melody.
Emma stood at the bus stop, holding her bag close, watching the rain fall. She hadn't brought an umbrella. Typical.
Just as she sighed, someone ran toward the shelter, slightly out of breath. It was Daniel—his hair damp, his shirt already soaked from the sudden downpour.
They looked at each other and smiled awkwardly.
"Looks like we're both unprepared," Daniel said, laughing lightly.
Emma nodded. "Seems like it."
For a moment, they stood in silence, listening to the rhythm of the rain. It wasn't uncomfortable—just quiet in a way that felt… peaceful.
Then Daniel stepped forward, looking out at the rain. "You know what? Let's not wait."
Emma raised an eyebrow. "Wait for what?"
"For the rain to stop."
Before she could respond, he gently took her hand. His touch was warm, steady—unexpected, but not unwelcome.
And then they ran.
Out into the rain.
Water soaked through their clothes instantly, but neither of them cared. They laughed like children, spinning, splashing through puddles. The world around them blurred, leaving only the two of them under that endless sky.
Emma looked at Daniel, her hair clinging to her face, her heart racing—not from the running, but from something deeper.
"This is crazy," she said, breathless.
"Maybe," Daniel replied softly, stepping closer. "But it feels right."
The rain fell harder, but in that moment, it felt like the universe had paused just for them.
He brushed a strand of wet hair from her face.
And without another word, he kissed her.
It was gentle at first, like the beginning of the rain. Then deeper, warmer—like the storm itself.
When they pulled away, both smiling, the rain still falling around them, Emma whispered, "I think I'll like rainy days from now on."
Daniel smiled. "Me too."
And under the same rain, something beautiful began.
