Now, Sarah's eyes fell on a knife lying beside her on the table. Slowly, she moved her weak hand toward the knife. She struggled a lot to pick it up because there was very little strength left in her hands. Somehow, with great difficulty, she managed to lift the knife.
Now, she was about to stab the knife into her stomach.
Before she could do that, Dr. Kevin noticed her. He rushed toward her and quickly tried to take the knife from her hand.
"Hey, beautiful, what are you doing? Leave that knife right now," he said.
But Sarah looked at him angrily and said, "Please leave my hand. I have no desire to live such a life. Please move out of my way."
Dr. Kevin did not step back at all. He continued trying to take the knife from her hand. Both of them struggled, holding onto the knife.
Sarah did not change her decision and refused to let go.
In the middle of that struggle, Dr. Kevin applied a little more force, and by mistake, the knife cut his hand.
Blood started flowing heavily from Dr. Kevin's hand.
Seeing this, Sarah immediately realized her mistake. She panicked and said, "I am so sorry, Dr. Kevin. I never wanted to hurt you. Because of me, you got injured."
Dr. Kevin calmly said, "It's okay. It's just a small injury."
He bandaged his hand and told her not to blame herself.
Then he softly said, "Can I talk to you for a while?"
Sarah lowered her head and nodded slowly, just like a small child who feels guilty after making a mistake.
Dr. Kevin asked again gently, "Can I talk to you for some time?"
Sarah again nodded, looking down.
Dr. Kevin then said, "Hey, beautiful, how can you be this weak?"
Slowly, Sarah lifted her face. Her eyes were filled with tears, and they began to fall down her cheeks.
She said, "Doctor, you tell me… what is the meaning of such a life? I have lost my memory. I do not remember anything. I do not know who I am, who my family is, I do not even remember my own name. And another truth is that I cannot even walk. So tell me, what is the use of living like this? It would have been better if I had died."
Dr. Kevin again gently placed his finger on her lips and said, "Shh… we do not say such things."
"You should thank God that at least you are alive. As for your purpose, slowly everything will be fine. Trust me, you will definitely find a reason to live."
Hearing this, Sarah could not control herself anymore. She started crying like a small child, crying deeply from her heart.
Seeing her like this, Dr. Kevin got worried and said, "Hey, hey… I am so sorry. I never wanted to make you cry."
He gently wiped her tears and gave her some water. He comforted her and said, "I will slowly make everything better. Trust me."
Looking into his eyes, Sarah felt a small hope again.
Dr. Kevin asked her to take some rest. He gently stroked her head, trying to make her sleep.
Slowly, Sarah fell into a deep sleep.
On the other side, Ryan had already put up missing posters of Sarah all over the city. He had become completely restless, constantly thinking about where Sarah might be, in what condition she might be.
Somewhere deep inside, he also blamed himself. He said to himself, "I have hurt Sarah a lot. I made her cry. I broke her trust. I disrespected her. I am guilty. If I find Sarah once, I will correct everything. I will keep her happy forever."
At that moment, Alice came with food for Ryan and said, "Ryan, please eat something. You have not eaten properly for many days. You are only searching for Sarah."
Ryan replied, "Until I find Sarah, I cannot sit peacefully. I need her at any cost."
There was a strong sense of possessiveness in his voice.
Meanwhile, in the hospital, a nurse came to Dr. Kevin and told him that in a few days, the girl who had lost her memory would be discharged.
She added, "But doctor, where will she go? She does not remember anything, not even her own name."
Dr. Kevin calmly replied, "Do not worry about her. We will find some solution."
After the nurse left, Dr. Kevin started thinking about her. He thought that, at least for humanity, he should support her. That girl trusted him and respected him. And since he had already given her hope, it was his responsibility to help her.
He decided that until her memory comes back, he would stand by her and become her support.
