"Son," Ms. Suru said as she walked into her son's room, as Tekio was watching something on the TV.
The room was much larger than any other in the house. Originally, it was the family's living room.
After Tekio awakened his quirk, the living room was made into a makeshift bedroom, and because the family didn't know what else to do, they just kept the makeshift bedroom as his actual bedroom.
As soon as his mom took her first few steps into his room, Tekio grabbed a small stick and used it to press the pause button on the remote.
He was watching a movie about the hero Godzillo. Ms. Suru knew that her son couldn't see the TV screen, but he still enjoyed hearing the large hero help people.
"It's about UA," Ms. Suru told her son.
Before she could say anything else, Tekio carefully reached into a nearby shelf and, with two fingers, pulled out an action figure of Gang Orca with a felt cape.
"I'm, I just want you to be safe," Ms. Suru said, "And I know you're strong, but there are so many heroes there, and when they see you, they might attack you," Ms. Suru explained.
"Sharin," Mr. Suru commented, walking into their child's room.
"It's silly, I know, but I can't stop worrying," she responded.
Tekio tapped his mother on her shoulder.
"Hmm?" she hummed.
Tekio pointed at himself, then raised his arms and flexed.
"My strong boy," Ms. Suru said, beginning to cry as she hugged Tekio, though her arms couldn't make it fully around her son.
"Go get 'em," Mr. Suru said, patting Tekio on his wheel while tearing up.
Tekio brought a hand to his face as if to wipe off his tears, but he had no eyes to cry through. So instead of crying, he put his arms out and held his parents and held them close.
"Tekio, buddy," his dad wheezed out.
Okay, maybe not too close.
————————————————————————
Transportation was always an issue for Tekio; his size and the large wheel on his head made it hard to fit into cars and buses.
Though, thanks to certain mutant quirk groups, there are a few modes of transportation that are only for people with mutant quirks. You just need to go through a quick test to tell if your quirk is debilitating enough.
That was no problem for Tekio, though. The moment he walked into the testing building, he immediately got his pass to take the mutant transportation.
Sure, it was slower, a bit crapped, Tekio had to sit on the ground, and it didn't even make it all the way to UA, but Tekio took what he could take.
————————————————————————
After some walking, Tekio arrived at U.A. High School.
The school was enormous, with metal heads of different alumni lining the way to the first testing hall.
There were many students along with Tekio walking to the testing hall; some of them, like Tekio, were wearing backpacks. Quite a few of the students were whispering about Tekio.
However, there was no point in whispering; Tekio could hear them just fine.
What he also heard was this one kid who was muttering.
He was muttering something about eating hair.
Sopping and turning around, Tekio faced the muttering kid, though the kid didn't notice that Tekio had stopped.
Tekio put his hand out in front of the kid, which led to the kid running into Tekio's hand.
The kid snapped his head forward, wondering who he went to.
"I'm so sorry!" he quickly blurted out, bowing.
Tekio tapped the kid on the shoulder.
Feeling a tap, the kid looked up to Tekio. His jaw almost fell to the ground; he worried that he pissed off someone he really shouldn't have.
Tekio then put one of his outstretched fingers on his lipless mouth.
"Sorry for mumbling," the kid apologized.
Tekio then pointed at the kid before putting two fingers out and tapping them together.
The kid looked on, confused.
Tekio repeated the motion, thinking the kid was still confused.
Then, Tekio grabbed his backpack and pulled out his ID, and showed it to the kid.
"Tekio?" the kid read.
Tekio pointed at the ID, then to himself. He then pointed at the kid.
"Oh, you want my name? It's Midoriya," he answered.
Tekio nodded after hearing Midoriya's name.
The two began to walk together. Midoriya noticed that Tekio had shortened his stride by a ton to match Midoriya's walking speed.
"Stupid Deku," a voice from behind the two called out.
"Kacchan," Midoriya commented, turning around.
"Get out of my way now, before I set you on fire," the seemingly angry boy called out, "And who are you?" he asked Tekio.
"..." Tekio answered.
"Huh? What are you scared?" the boy asked, getting closer to Tekio.
"..." Tekio then retorted.
"Some kind of tough guy, huh," the boy said while speeding up, "Just stay out of my way," he told Tekio as he walked by.
Tekio then looked at Midoriya.
"That was my best friend, Kacchan," Midoriya explained.
Tekio looked back at the loud boy, then back to Midoriya.
"What?" Midoriya asked.
Tekio then looked to the U.A. gate and sped back up to his normal walking pace.
"Wait, where are you going?" Midoriya asked, trying to catch up to Tekio.
As Midoriya tried to catch up to Tekio, he ended up slipping. However, Tekio didn't stop for him, mostly because he noticed there was someone behind them who caught Midoriya.
---------------------------------------
Walking into the large hall, Tekio looked up and down for a place to sit, and luckily for him there was a spot.
It was on the top row, and it was large enough to fit Tekio well.
From bottom to top the size went from rather small to very large. The seats were made with perspective students with permanent size changing quirks in mind.
Sitting down, Tekio had a smile on his face. Which led to several others near him to move over a bit. It wasn't like they were close to Tekio anyways, there was a giant wheel on his head after all.
"What's up U.A. candidates?" a hero at the bottom of the stage said, "Thanks for tunin' into me, your school DJ. Come on and let me hear ya!" he yelled out.
Not a single soul said a word, made a noise, or do anything to show their excitement.
"Keeping it mellow, huh?" the hero responded, "That's fine I'll skip straight to the main show. Let's talk about how this practical exam is gonna go down, okay?" he asked, "Are you ready!" the hero then called out.
Once again no one said a word, however in the back of the room, a student with a wheel over their head pumped their fist in the air.
"Yeah!" the hero yelled out pointing at the student putting their hand up.
After pumping his fist up, Tekio heard Midoriya start muttering to himself again. This time it was about the hero President Mic. It was getting annoying.
"Like your application said, today you rockin' boys and girls will be out there conducting ten-minute mock battles in super-hip urban settings!" President Mic explained, "Gird your loins my friends, after I drop the mic here, you'll head to your specified battle centers sound good?" he asked the crowd.
In front of Tekio was a sheet of paper that had his battle center, battle center E, and some basic information about himself. All of the information was written in braille so Tekio could read it fine.
"Okay, okay! Let's check out your targets!" President Mic continued, "There are three types of faux villains in every battle center. You'll earn points on their level of difficulty so better choose wisely," he explained.
"Excuse me sir, but I have a question," a kid in the middle rows said raising his hand.
"Hit me!" President Mic replied.
"On the printout, you've listed four different types of villains. Not three," the standing kid pointed out, "With all respect, if this is an error on official U.A. materials, it is shameful," he explained to the hero.
"All right, all right, examine number seven-one-one-one," President Mic called out, "Thanks for calling in with your request. The fourth villain type is worth zero points, that guy's just an obstacle we'll be throwing in your way," he explained.
"Thank you very much," the standing boy thanked, "Please continue," he said before sitting back down.
"That's all I got for you today; I'll sign off with a little present!" President Mic said, "A sample of our school moto! As general Napoleon Bonaparte once laid down, a true hero is one who overcomes life's misfortunes," he quoted, Mm-hm, now that's a tasty sound bite," he added.
"You ready to go beyond? Let's hear a Plus Ultra!"
