Chapter 3 - The Wheel does not concern itself with Steel

Tekio had an easy trip to his designated battle center, mostly thanks to the extra leg room given by the U.A. buses.

All the prospective students who were assigned to Battle Center E had been corralled in one large area. In front of all the students was an absolutely massive set of iron gates.

There was a small area where they could put down their backpacks and other items that wouldn't be used in the test.

The prospective students had begun to form groups with one another; they talked about their quirk and their strategies to get the most points.

Though, unfortunately, none of the students wanted to talk to-

"Hey," a kid said, walking up to Tekio, "Denki Kaminari, what's your name?" he asked.

Tekio quickly went over to his backpack, pulled out his ID, and showed it to Kaminari.

"Uh," Kaminari said, squinting at Tekio's ID, "Your name's Nagoya? Hey, it's like the city!" he remarked.

Tekio then attempted to point to where his name was, and not where he was born. Though Kaminari wasn't looking.

"So Nagoya, got any tips?" Kaminari asked.

Tekio shook his head from left to right.

"Really? Dang," Kaminari said, disappointed, "I was thinking of just zapping 'em and hoping they short-circuit them," he explained.

Tekio pointed at himself and then punched the air.

"I mean, looking at you, that should work," Kaminari commented while scratching his chin, "But do you have a backup plan in case the robots are too tough?" he then asked.

Tekio put his right hand up and clenched his fist. From the top of his wrist, a large sword, the width of his arm, popped out.

"Whoa!" Kaminari exclaimed, "You got a second one of those?" he asked.

Tekio shook his head from left to right once more while the large sword retracted back.

Suddenly, the large iron doors swung open, opening up the group of students to a large mock city complete with buildings and vehicles.

"Right, let's start!" President Mic yelled out, "Get moving! There are no countdowns in real battles!" he continued.

It was like a smoking gun. After President Mic finished talking, the testees began to run out of the starting area and into the city.

Though before any of the other students could make it past the gate, Tekio had already made it to the nearest robot.

It has two shields in its hands. Along with that, it had a long neck and three laser cannons on its chest.

Tekio couldn't tell how many points the robot gave, but it was the closest one, so he attacked it anyway.

Of course, if Tekio could see, he would have noticed the large '2' on each of the robot's shields.

After reaching the robot, Tekio slammed his fist on the top of the robot, mostly crushing it in the process.

"Co-mmencing, at-at-attack," the robot sputtered out.

The robot then attempted to hit Tekio with a blast, but a punch to the stomach of the robot quickly put a stop to that.

It was then that the wheel, which floated above Tekio's head, began to creak to life.

Without looking at the robot to his right, Tekio ran up to it and gave it the same two punches as he did to the other robot.

And as he attacked the robot, the wheel began to spin faster.

"Target acquired," a larger robot announced, rolling onto the scene, "Commencing atac-"

"CLANK"

Tekio did not raise a hand against the robot; he simply turned towards the robot, pushed off, and ran through it.

The robot was crushed.

"Center C looking good."

"Sending two more one-pointers to A."

Nearby to the various Battle Centers was the control tower filled with teachers and other staff members.

They oversaw each of the Battle Centers and made sure there were never too few robot villains in each of the centers.

In the past, there was a fixed number of faux villains in each center, and no more would be added, no matter what. However, after All Might took the test, he was the only one in his Battle Center to pass, a U.A. first.

And so, the teachers make sure that each student had the opportunity to find and destroy enough villains to pass.

It was a careful process, but in the years past All Might's test, all has been well.

But suddenly, several villains began to be destroyed.

"Seven villains down in Battle Center E!"

"Five more down!"

A single Battle Center took then attention of several staff members as many villains began to be destroyed.

Luckily, there was an automated system that added points to whichever testee destroyed the faux villain. This was done through several cameras placed both on the metal villains and around each Battle Center.

"Examine seven-seven-seven," a rat called out, "Get me the information of that student," the small bear ordered.

"Here," a tired hero replied, handing over the student's information.

Grabbing the paper, the dog read over it.

"The 'Perfect Cycle of Adaptation'. What an interesting quirk name," the rat said, reading off the paper.

"A mutant quirk, I assume?" the tired teacher asked.

"Partly, it seems he has a quirk that can mutate himself, in effect, giving him more mutant quirks," the small bear answered.

"What happened to him that caused him to adapt into that?" a block-like teacher asked, looking at the wing-faced man on the screen.

"Power Loader, are the faux villains all made of the same material?" the dog asked.

"Yeah, so you think he adapted to the material?" Power Loader answered.

"It's my hypothesis, now the zero-point robot is also made out of the same material, right?" the rat asked.

"Course," Power Loader answered.

"So, if he's adapted to the metal, will he easily crush the zero-pointer? Will he need to adapt to its size? Or will he run?" the small bear wondered as his hand hovered over a large red button.

————————————————————————

"Okay," a student said, running up to a two-point robot, "Its weakness is its back!" the student said, prepping to jump onto the robot's back.

However, as the student moved, they heard something approaching. Stepping back, the student looked over to where they heard the noise.

It was on the other side of a building, though that was because there was a fight happening on the other side of the wall, right?

Suddenly, a pure white, about eight-foot-tall man with wings on his face and a ripped-up hoodie ran through the wall before running into the robot, destroying it.

He then turned to face the student, and then Tekio waved at the flabbergasted student.

Tekio then turned towards a seemingly random direction.

The ground quaked as a ginormous robot began to roll onto the city. It was much larger than any building in the Battle Center, and it sported two giant hands.

It began to scan the area, searching for any people. Every student who saw the faux robot began to run in the opposite direction; they hoped that they could avoid being crushed.

Unfortunately for the robot, Tekio had no eyes to see it, so with a smile on his face, Tekio rushed towards the giant robot.

As Tekio ran closer, the others ran away, and so Tekio was the closest to the robot, so he became the only target.

The robot slammed its giant metal fist down onto Tekio. There were supposed to be safety measures in place stopping the faux villains from seriously hurting students, however a certain dog mouse small bear thing had turned that off for this robot.

Tekio held up the robot's hand as it tried to crush down on him, and as he did, his wheel began to spin once more.

But before the wheel could make a full rotation, Tekio popped his sword out of his right arm and cut a hole through the giant robot's hand. Tekio then squeezed through the hole before grabbing onto the robot's arm.

Tekio then began to scale the robot's arm with his hands and feet. His fingers dug into metal, and his shoes began to fall apart.

Noticing that there was something on its arm, the villain moved its other hand to squash Tekio.

"CLANK"

Before the hand could reach Tekio, he leapt farther up the robot's arm. And with a few more leaps, Tekio made it to the top of its head.

Tekio then pulled his fist back before slamming it into the robot's head. The single punch didn't finish it off, so he hit it again, and again, and again.

Eventually, the light on the robot flickered before shutting off. It then fell forward; the robots' weight slammed on the ground, crushing several buildings.

Luckily, all of the other testees had left the area and were watching the fight. However, they may have been far enough away not to be affected by the fight, but not the giant cloud of dust that was kicked up from the robot falling.

Though they still looked forward. And as the dust settled, they saw Tekio walking towards the exit.

His sweatshirt was ripped, his shoes were gone, but there was still a wide smile on his face. Though his lipless smile creeped out the other perspective students.
