(JAY JAY) pov
I was at Drew's house when I suddenly felt something shift behind me, like a presence I couldn't quite see. A strange uneasiness crept over me. When I turned around, I noticed that the rooster, Yuri, was gone. That didn't feel right—he never just wandered off.
A chill ran down my spine. Trying to shake off the feeling, I stepped outside, but the moment I did, my heart sank. Drew was nowhere to be seen either. The silence around me felt heavy, almost unnatural, as if something was terribly wrong.
My hands trembled as I quickly pulled out my phone and tried calling Keifer. The call connected, and I could hear faint movement on the other end. Just as I was about to speak, something struck me hard from behind. Pain exploded through my head, so intense it felt like my skull had cracked. I staggered, my vision spinning, the ground beneath me shifting as if I had lost all balance.
Everything started to blur. I tried to focus, to say something—anything—but the words wouldn't come out. The last thing I remember was kiefer voice calling my name from other side and then just darkness closing in, swallowing everything whole.
(keifer) pov
I was standing on the balcony of my room when my phone suddenly started buzzing.
When I looked at the screen, my heart skipped a beat—it was Jay. She never calls me at this time. Something immediately felt off.
I picked up the call, and all I could hear was the sound of something being hit… hard. Repeatedly. My mind went blank.
"Jay? Are you there? Please answer… Jay! JAYYYY!"
A chill ran down my spine. Anger rushed through me so fast that my hands started shaking. If anyone had hurt my Jay, I swear I would break every single bone in their body.
But right now, I needed to think. I needed to act.
I quickly called Angelo. The phone rang three times before he finally picked up.
"Angelo?"
"Yeah?"
"Is she home?"
"No. She told me she's at Cin's house."
Something wasn't right. I could feel it. Deep down, I knew she wasn't there.
"Okay… I'll call Cin and ask him."
I was about to hang up when he spoke again.
"Kiefer… whatever it is, inform me, okay?"
I ended the call and immediately dialed Cin's number. He picked up after just one ring.
"K-Kiefer… you ca-called me… ni-nice…"
He was stuttering. That only made my worry worse. I already knew—Jay wasn't at his house, and he knew exactly where she was.
"Cin, tell me where the hell Jay is. And don't even try to lie to me."
"Kiefer, please don't get angry… She's at Drew's house. I told her not to go, but she didn't listen."
"Okay. I need you to ask Edrix to track her location. Fast."
"O-okay, Kei—"
Before he could finish, I cut the call and dialed Angelo again. I told him everything.
"I'm coming," he said.
And for the first time, fear hit me harder than anger.
I grabbed the car keys from the table and rushed out, my steps quick and unsteady. Within seconds, I was inside the car.
The engine roared to life, the sound echoing in the silence around me. I slammed my foot on the accelerator and sped off, driving like a madman, barely caring about anything in my way.
My mind was racing faster than the car.
When I reached the Fernandez mansion, I didn't even have time to react—two cars pulled in right behind me. They didn't stop, didn't ask anything. They just followed. They knew.
Something was seriously wrong.
We reached the meeting point, and Section E was already there, waiting.
I stepped out of the car, scanning the area quickly.
Yuri wasn't there.
A strange, uneasy feeling settled in my chest, but the thought of Jay being hurt was worse—far worse.
Then I saw Cin.
I marched straight towards him, anger boiling over.
"Why didn't you tell me she was at Drew's house?!" I shouted, my voice echoing.
I turned to the others, my frustration exploding.
"Where the hell is Yuri?!"
Cin spoke, his voice tense.
"Kiefer… he's with Jay. I told him she was alone. I couldn't tell anyone else… so he must've followed her."
My fists clenched instantly.
"That fucking bastard…" I muttered under my breath.
I knew it. I knew he had done something
Because I knew one thing for sure—
Jay and I…
we were both on his hit list.
I turned to Edrix. He was already typing rapidly on his tablet, his eyes fixed on the screen.
a
"Edrix, location. Fast," I said sharply.
But something was wrong. He never took this long—never.
"Keifer…" he finally spoke, his voice tense, "I can't. Someone is blocking my routers."
"Shit."
I immediately turned to Angelo. He looked just as worried as I felt, his expression tight and uneasy.
Before either of us could say anything, his phone suddenly buzzed.
He glanced at the screen—
and the color drained from his face.
Something was very, very wrong.
Angelo turned toward me—
and that's when I saw it.
Fear.
Not the usual kind… but the kind that comes when you're about to lose someone who means so much to you
My chest tightened.
"What is it, boss?" I asked, my voice high and urgent.
"Kiefer, we have to move. Fast," he said, his tone serious, almost rushed. "She's with someone… very dangerous."
My heart skipped.
"Who is it?"
"We don't have time," he cut me off. "Come with me. I'll explain everything on the way."
Something felt terribly wrong. Worse than before.
I couldn't bear the thought of her suffering—especially because of me. But this time…
This time, i wasn't the reason
It was someone from her past.
"Okay," I said quickly, forcing myself to stay focused.
I turned to Divid and handed him the keys.
"Take my car. I'm going with Angelo"
And without wasting another second, I followed him—knowing whatever was coming next…
was going to change everything.
