It then hit me.
Out of all the mind-boggling lunatics in this tale, the craziest was by far my husband.
Even the Pope seemed to be a little startled at Zahid’s reaction.
He probably didn’t expect Zahid to go this berserk on him.
This was the worst possible scenario.
If Zahid was to kill the Pope right here and now, he would instantly become the top fugitive in the entire land.
Not only would they all know about the fact that I am the Purifier, but I would also have to become a fugitive alongside Zahid, who surely wasn’t going to let me go, and live the rest of my life running from the law.
I had to stop him.

The urge to let Zahid do his thing whispered in my ears.
Perhaps lunacy was infectious.
It kind of felt like I was thinking more like Zahid, now that I’ve spent such a long time being around him.
