Chapter 18 - CHAPTER 7: CLASH OF DOMINANCE

The air turned heavy.

Still.

Like the world itself was holding its breath.

No one moved.

No one spoke.

All eyes were locked on the space between Lira and Alpha Darius.

Power radiated from both of them—different… but equally overwhelming.

Ronan stood a few steps behind Lira, his body tense.

"This is bad…" he muttered under his breath.

But Lira,

She was calm.

Too calm.

Darius took another step forward, his boots pressing firmly into the ground.

"Show me," he said, his voice deep and commanding.

"Show me why they fear you."

Lira tilted her head slightly.

"You came all this way…" she said softly.

"Just to test me?"

Darius' lips curved faintly.

"No."

His eyes darkened.

"I came to see if you're worth keeping… or worth eliminating."

A ripple of tension spread across the camp.

Ronan's fists clenched.

But Lira,

She smiled.

Not kindly.

Not softly.

Dangerously.

"Try."

That was all she said.

And it was enough.

In the next second,

Darius moved.

Fast.

Faster than any normal wolf.

He lunged toward her with brutal force, his fist aimed straight for her chest.

Gasps filled the air.

But Lira didn't move.

Not even an inch.

At the very last second,

She lifted her hand.

And caught his fist.

Effortlessly.

The impact sent a shockwave through the ground.

Dust rose into the air.

But she didn't budge.

Not even slightly.

Darius' eyes widened.

Just for a moment.

"You're strong…" he said lowly.

Lira's grip tightened.

"But not enough," she replied.

With a simple twist,

She forced him back.

Darius slid across the ground before regaining his balance.

The camp erupted in shocked whispers.

"That was Alpha Darius…"

"She stopped him… just like that?!"

Darius straightened slowly.

And then,

He smiled.

Not offended.

Not angry.

Excited.

"Good," he said.

"Very good."

His aura exploded outward, raw Alpha dominance flooding the entire area.

Some rogues dropped to their knees instantly.

Others struggled to stand.

Even Ronan gritted his teeth under the pressure.

But Lira,

Didn't react.

Didn't flinch.

Didn't bow.

Her silver eyes only glowed brighter.

"Is that all?" she asked.

Darius' smile faded slightly.

Then

He released more power.

Stronger.

Heavier.

The ground beneath them cracked.

The air trembled.

This was true Alpha dominance.

Crushing.

Unforgiving.

But Lira simply stood there.

Unaffected.

Untouched.

Unmoved.

Silence fell again.

Darius stared at her.

Now

Not with curiosity.

But realization.

"You're not resisting…" he said slowly.

"You're… above it."

Lira stepped forward.

And for the first time,

Darius felt it.

Pressure.

Real pressure.

The kind that pressed against his chest.

The kind that made it harder to breathe.

"What… are you?" he asked again, his voice lower now.

Lira stopped in front of him.

Close.

Too close.

Her silver eyes locked into his.

"You already know," she said quietly.

The wind began to swirl violently around her.

The sky darkened further.

And then,

She released it.

Not all.

Just a fraction.

But it was enough.

A wave of pure, ancient power surged outward.

It wasn't just dominance.

It wasn't just strength.

It was something deeper.

Something older.

Something divine.

Darius' knees bent slightly.

Not fully.

But enough.

Enough for everyone to see.

A shocked silence spread across the camp.

Alpha Darius,

Was being forced down.

Lira's voice echoed softly.

"I do not bow."

Another pulse of power hit.

Stronger.

"I do not submit."

Darius clenched his fists, resisting with everything he had.

His pride.

His strength.

His Alpha blood.

But it wasn't enough.

Not against her.

"Remember this," Lira said, her voice now layered with that same ancient echo.

"When you speak to me…"

She stepped even closer.

Her presence overwhelming.

"You stand before something far beyond Alpha."

Then,

She pulled back.

The pressure vanished instantly.

Darius staggered slightly, but didn't fall.

He stood still.

Breathing heavier than before.

The camp remained frozen.

Waiting.

Watching.

Then slowly,

Darius straightened.

And laughed.

Low.

Deep.

Genuine.

"This…" he said, shaking his head slightly.

"This is unexpected."

He looked at her again.

But now,

There was no arrogance.

No dismissal.

Only respect.

And something else.

Interest.

"You're dangerous," he admitted.

Lira didn't respond.

"You're not just a threat…" he continued.

"You're a turning point."

A silence passed between them.

Then Darius turned slightly, glancing at his warriors.

"We're leaving."

Gasps echoed.

"But Alpha," one of them started.

"That was not a request," he said coldly.

They immediately fell silent.

Before leaving, Darius looked back at Lira one last time.

"This isn't over," he said.

A faint smirk touched his lips.

"I'll be watching you."

Then

He walked away.

His warriors followed.

And just like that,

The storm passed.

But something had changed.

Completely.

Ronan let out a long breath behind her.

"You just made an Alpha… back down."

Lira looked up at the sky, where the clouds slowly began to clear.

"No," she said softly.

"I made him understand."

Her eyes glowed faintly once more.

"This is only the beginning."

And deep within her,

The Moon Goddess stirred stronger than ever before.
