Vael scrunched up his face immediately. "You always meet girls. That's nothing new."
"I know. But this one is different," Ares said. "If things go well…I might actually consider dating her."
Theon nearly choked on his wine. "What?" he coughed out.
Vael blinked slowly. "If there's one thing I know about you, it's that you don't date."
"Exactly," Theon added. "Dating? Really?"
Ares shrugged. "I've always avoided relationships because I wanted the right person."
"The one?" Theon asked skeptically.
Ares nodded once. "Yeah."
Theon stared at him in disbelief. "So you think this girl is the one?"
"She's different."
Vael folded his arms and studied him carefully. "How?"
Ares looked thoughtful for a moment. "She just is."
"That explains nothing," Vael deadpanned.
Ares rolled his eyes. "Okay. Fine. The first day I met her, I liked her immediately."
Theon raised an eyebrow. "So you're attracted to her."
"It's not just attraction," Ares said firmly.
