Theon stepped into the house with a headache already building behind his eyes. The entire drive home had been filled with silence and frustration, and somehow the image of Ares yelling at the restaurant still refused to leave his head.
The sound of gunfire from a video game echoed through the living room. He found Ares stretched comfortably across the couch, controller in hand, eyes fixed on the television like the world around him did not exist. The bright flashes from the screen lit up his face while explosions rattled through the speakers.
Theon stared at him for a moment, disbelief mixing with irritation. "You were rude to Vael," he said finally.
Ares did not answer. Not even a glance. His fingers kept moving over the controller while his character sprinted across the screen, shooting enemies.
