"Are we just going to stand here like this? Because last time I checked, this is a school, and anyone could walk in and completely misunderstand what's going on," I said when he still didn't speak after several long minutes.
"I can't get what I saw out of my head," he murmured. Even his voice sounded uncertain, almost lost in itself.
"So what do you think you saw? I mean, what do you think I am? Some creature trapped in a human's body?" I asked.
And as I said it, I made a decision. There was no way I could tell him anything now.
Which also meant I couldn't keep lying to myself that I had someone who wanted to be with me. Not when he didn't even know what I really was.
If he knew the truth and still chose to stay, then maybe that would mean something. Until then, it didn't.
