The moment she realised that she was too close to me she jumped back.
"Ahha, I'm sorry about that... Whenever I see someone getting hurt, I end up examining their wound."
Hmm... that's a very weird habit you have there.
"I-its fine."
I said, stuttering a bit because I wasn't really very comfortable talking to a women right now.
*Ring ring*
Just as the 2nd bell rang.
"Well than, I should get going."
I said as I started walking back when she grabbed my hand and said.
"Wait!"
"Huh?"
I was so stated by her grabbing my hand, My heart skipped a beat.
God... what is wrong with this heart of mine.
I was just painstakingly rejected by my childhood friend and treated like the worst kind of a trash no human would wanna be treated that way...
And... instead of rejecting every human that crosses my path so I could save myself from another such humiliation... my heart is out here skipping beats for another women?
Gimmi a break!
"Mm... can I help you with something?"
I asked, a bit fidget like a loer that's never talked to a women.
"Aah... would you please keep it a secret that I was crying here to your friends."
I chuckled a bit when she said 'friends'.
As I remembered that 1 friend of mine who wasn't even one.
"Don't worry, I won't."
It's not like I have one.
But instead of feeling reassured, she just stared at me... she seemed somewhat pissed.
Did I do something wrong?
"What was with that chuckle just now?"
"Huh?"
"Qre you trying to play tricks with me? If you are going to tell everyone about it than just do it, I don't like being threatened like this."
Threatned?
Aah... was it the chuckle?
It must have made her guard up.
"I'm sorry, I may have caused a misunderstanding due to the chuckle. Please, don't worry... I won't tell anyone I swear."
I stated, smiling a bit at her somewhat angry look.
She's really cute when she's half angry isn't she?
"So... than why did you chuckle like that when I asked you to keep it a secret."
"Huh? Well... do I have to tell you? It's kind of personal."
"Huh? Ofcourse... because if you don't I'll feel really restless."
Damn it, I shouldn't have openly chuckled like that.
"Well... if you want me to tell you why I chuckled... you have to tell me why you were crying just now."
"Huh? How is that even related?"
"Well, To you it may not seem related but to me it is. It's quite personal as to why I chuckled like that at your mention."
"Aah... wait, I get it... do you perhaps... have no friends?"
"Aah..."
"Looks like I hit the nail in the head."
She looked a little pissed, more than she was before.
"..."
"For that simple reason... you wanted to know something really personal about me... That's a little creepy... you know."
"No wait wait... it's not just because of friends... I did have one but.. Well, They didn't really believe me when I most needed her to and in the end... she just ended her friendship with me... worst part was... she was my first love... so when you asked me to promise that I wouldn't tell my friends about it I remembered all the stuff I told her just to hold a conversation that would never last very long... I guess I didn't have to tell you all this. When I wagered to tell you why I chuckled, I thought it might be somewhat perpendicular to my situation. Something related to a boyfriend or crush. I guess there was no need for me to tell you all this."
"Aah... I see, That's... that's kinda sad."
She said after which...
"Ooh shit, look at the time. It's already this late? The teacher will scold the shit outta me."
I said as I dashed out.
Not even bothering to ask her name and class.
Not like it'll matter Anyway.
We won't be meeting again, and I know for sure that we won't.
...
After classes ended, I slowly made my way towards the station to get back home.
There were many students taking the same path as me and it was rather awkward because everyone had atleast 1 or 2 people with them conversing happily.
While I had my head down walking alone a bit faster than others.
Than I caught sight of 2 people walking together.
I momentarily stopped and waited for them to get farther away from me so I wouldn't have to deal with some unforseen circumstances.
Than I remembered... how whenever I saw her walking with her friends, I'd run to her just to chat a little.
If I hadn't known her at those times when she was at her worse.
I probably would have never been allowed into her space.
Such was the social standing.
That was where I as a human stood.
I never thought that there was a barrier between us... until that day.
And since than, that barrier never seems to weaken.
Instead, it keeps getting stronger and sturdier.
And I keep getting further and further away from her.
...
I opened the house door, and saw that nobody was home right now.
After going some steps, I could see the hall.
On the dining table was what seemed to be dinner.
My mom has probably gone for her night shift and my sister should be back after her club activity.
I don't want to brag but my sister is supposedly the most beautiful women in the school.
She goes after my extremely beautiful mother.
While I go after my father... who... Lost his life due to the pandemic.
He always used to brag about how he bagged a women like my mother.
He worked day and night to make sure every one of us was Well fed.
Even though we weren't Well off, his efforts for the family always made us respect him.
He was quite enthusiastic about feeding us every day and went to his office with a beaming smile.
My mother on the other hand... she's exhausted from all the overwork.
I used to have a part time job that I worked and used for my sister and me.
But, after the whole ordeal... I lost it because I wasn't concentrating Well.
I feel like now... I can go back with all the clouded thoughts out.
Especially because I Don't think my mother can take any more of the 3rd part time job.
Especially because they are squeezing out every bit of work they can out of her because of her vulnerability.
I saw a board looking for workers, and it looked like a new cafe.
I don't really know if I have a chance or not but since tomorrow is a Saturday and a holiday I should go and give an interview.
While I was in thought, the main door creaked open and a sweet voice entered my ears.
"I'm home."
She stated cheerfully.
"Welcome back. How was your day?"
I asked with a beaming smile on my face.
"You won't believe what happened today."
