GA: Chapter 167: True Dragon Heart's Blood — Qin Tian's Transformation

"A spherical object discovered inside the flood dragon's skull. It contains a tremendous concentration of energy. Whether it's the legendary Dragon Pearl, we can't confirm — but even if it isn't, it should at minimum be the focal point where the flood dragon's energy accumulated."

At that, Liu Suifeng's expression turned serious.

"This was originally supposed to go to the research institute — but considering your ability is tied to dragons, we thought it might benefit you considerably. So we're including it with the rest."

"It's precisely because you're first tier — the strongest we have right now outside of the White Emperor — that they were willing to release it at all. Anyone else, and they wouldn't have."

After all, this was the first genuinely dragon-related mutated creature they'd encountered. The spherical object packed with such enormous energy could well be the legendary Dragon Pearl, which carried immense research value.

If Qin Tian weren't first tier, one of Huaxia's priority-cultivated powerhouses, and if his ability weren't tied directly to dragons — they never would have let it go.

"I'll remember this."

Qin Tian said it earnestly.

"You've earned it."

Liu Suifeng smiled as he said it.

How much Qin Tian had given for Huaxia — they saw all of it.

Not just Qin Tian — Huo Yu, Chen Bing, Ning Guang, Wang Ming. These were the geniuses Huaxia was cultivating as a priority, all of them first-tier powerhouses.

So whenever resources were found, apart from a portion set aside for research, the rest was divided among Qin Tian and the others as fuel for their growth.

Liu Suifeng handed over the case and left. Qin Tian carried it out of the practice room and returned to his quarters to cultivate.

Click.

He opened the case.

Inside were twelve vials of gold-red blood. And at the center rested a single pearl — roughly four centimeters across.

"Roarrr—"

Faintly, barely audible, a dragon's cry seemed to reach Qin Tian's ears. His body trembled involuntarily.

A slow breath.

Qin Tian didn't hesitate. He picked up one vial and opened it.

BOOM.

A tremendous draconic pressure surged through the room. A violent energy swept out from the vial — and behind Qin Tian, a crimson fire dragon materialized in phantom form, its gold-red pupils fixed on the dragon blood before it. A second, even more overwhelming draconic presence rose in response — and the energy within the vial was forcibly suppressed back into itself.

He tilted the vial and swallowed the gold-red dragon blood.

RUMBLE—!

With a thunderous roar, an immense torrent of energy surged wildly through every part of Qin Tian's body, washing through flesh and bone alike.

His ability was extraordinarily compatible with true dragon heart's blood. Though the dragon had transformed into a Flame Dragon, and the blood might not be a perfect match, the difference in their tier was enough — he could absorb all of the blood's energy regardless.

His body shook again and again. His bones crackled continuously. Searing pain swept across him in waves.

Qin Tian bit down and endured it. In the depths of his pupils, a faint trace of gold-red was beginning to surface.

As time passed, the energy of the first vial was gradually absorbed to completion. Without a moment's pause, he opened the second and drank it down.

Pain.

Violent, overwhelming pain.

It felt as though countless steel needles were driving through him simultaneously, as though a hammer was pounding him from every angle. The agony nearly exceeded what Qin Tian could bear.

But he thought of his goal. Thought of the person he wanted to become.

He bit down again, and pushed through.

"Roarrr—"

The phantom Flame Dragon behind him let out a long cry. It slowly opened its jaws — and the remaining ten vials opened on their own, the true dragon heart's blood within them floating upward through the air and flowing toward the phantom dragon.

And not only the blood — the Dragon Pearl at the center of the case surged into Qin Tian's body as well.

Crack. Crack. Crack.

Something like thunder seemed to flash through the air. A crimson cocoon slowly formed around Qin Tian, and within it, a terrifying energy was gestating.

Meanwhile, in Hangzhou.

"Flood Dragon heart's blood?"

"How has Ning Guang gotten this strong? He can actually hunt a flood dragon now?"

"Wait — the flood dragon was half-dead from tribulation lightning, and Ning Guang just walked up and finished it off? That's more like it."

"There was also a Dragon Pearl inside? Do flood dragons even have Dragon Pearls?"

"Give it to Qin Tian if you want, but why not just refine the whole flood dragon body along with the Pearl into a pill and feed it all to him? That might cause his ability to evolve, and even if not, it would be a significant boost."

"Research? After all this time, what have they actually produced? Better to just let Qin Tian eat it — once he's stronger, he can get anything."

"Is the pill-refining ability user not powerful enough to break it down properly? Ideally they'd..."

Huo Yu turned the vial of dragon blood over in her hands, thinking. She was planning to use it in a moment to call forth the most powerful fire-type summon carrying true dragon bloodline that she could currently summon. Absorbing it herself would definitely produce the worst results.

She was a summoner. There was no way she was going to sink to fighting monsters in close-range physical combat.

And she had no idea what element the flood dragon had been. If it was water-element — would that cause some kind of negative reaction?

Huo Yu sank into thought.

After a long pause.

"Forget it — it's not like I'm the one eating it directly."

"I'll test one vial first and see."

As precious as dragon blood was, Huo Yu wasn't particularly attached to it. She wasn't Qin Tian — her ability was summoning-type. When she was strong enough in the future, what fire-type summon couldn't she call? The most important thing about dragon blood for her was the enormous energy it contained. In her mind, anything dragon-related should just go to Qin Tian.

Jealousy?

What was there to be jealous of? It all went toward protecting people in the end.

Whoever could make the most use of it should get it — that was only logical.

Of course, that logic only applied to dragon blood. If it were something like one of the Five Elements Armors, a Kamen Rider summoner, an Imperial Arm, or a Clow Card — different story entirely. Those, she'd keep for herself and share with nobody.

Dragon blood would come again. Those things, once gone, were gone.

"Now then — what should I summon..."

As she murmured to herself, a mysterious formation of glowing symbols slowly rose beneath her feet. As she channeled spiritual energy into it, something began to materialize at the center of the array—

An egg?

Hmm???

A thoroughly baffled expression crossed Huo Yu's face.

"What? Why did I just summon an egg?"

This shouldn't be possible. Her ability was fire-type summoning — but that didn't mean eggs were included in what she could call. She should only be able to summon fire-type creatures with established intelligence and consciousness.

Or had she been misunderstanding her own ability this whole time? Could she actually summon eggs, and had just never managed it before due to bad luck?

Oh, right, I see how it is — yeah, absolutely not.

She'd summoned who knows how many times. If eggs were actually possible, there was no way she'd gone this many attempts without a single one appearing.

So what exactly was this egg?

Huo Yu approached it cautiously and pressed a hand against it.

Then pressed again.

Warm. Hot. Smooth.

Honestly felt just like an ordinary egg — just bigger than usual.
