Zoe walk into the dimly lit restaurant, her eyes scanning the cozy space like a radar 🍴. The aroma of freshly baked bread wafted through the air, mingling with the soft jazz playing in the background. Her blind date had described it as "quaint" – understatement of the century.
As she searched for her date, her gaze swept past couples huddled over wine glasses, families laughing over dinner, and a lone guy typing away on his laptop. Ah, there – tall, messy hair, glasses. Looked kinda cute, actually .
He spotted her and stood, waving awkwardly. She smiled, heart doing a tiny flip.
" hey"
" hi, I'm Rex"
" I'm Zoe"
" waiter" Rex calls as a waiter approaches them.
As they settled in, the waiter appeared, and they rattled off their orders:
"Grilled salmon with quinoa, extra lemon."
"Spicy pasta, no onions, extra parmesan"
Small talk flowed as they waited for the food.
They chatted and chatted for a while and exchanged numbers and they parted ways.
while Zoe was driving, her car started mis functioning as it stopped half way to her house, she came out and noticed everywhere was cloudy, she became a bit scared as she dialled her gate keeper number,
" I hope he hasn't gone to sleep, I swear I'll fire him this time around for being incompetent" Zoe cursed under her breath
" what am I suppose to do, I can't find taxi in this street"
the rain began dropping as Zoe got more scared, she heard a screeching sound from her left and sighted a figure with an umbrella. the figure approach her.
" here" he gave her the umbrella
" you'll get drench"
"I'm fine, I can see your car is faulty"
" yeah"
" you could stay in my apartment for a while, before the rain stops" he said his voice low and even

" yeah" he said as he lead the way.
" I hope he doesn't have anything sinister up his sleeves" Zoe soliloquy
