Some people are open to try new things, but not me. I have always been afraid of getting out of my comfort zone, but not anymore. Yes, you heard me right, potatoes, not anymore. I'm Melanie Hudson, but my friends call me Mel or Lanie—anyone you prefer. I'm turning 18 in a few months, and I'm not going to have holdbacks. I'm trying everything and everything.
I'm from a middle-class family, and we're quite an extended-nuclear family because, even though I have only one brother and my parents, I have a lot of family members who come a lot, often, and sometimes it can be very inconvenient. Don't get me wrong, I love family, but I love space.
When I was fifteen years old, I wanted to be a singer. I found myself always writing poetry and turning the most basic things into song. I even sing—talk, it's kinda annoying, really. Well, my brother, Miller, was a member of a boy pop group called _Burberry Boys_. Well, I personally think it's a weird name, but since our little town has the same name, I think I pretty much know where they were coming from.
I love pop music, sometimes R&B, but you know, I also love to make mine, and also have a girl band sometimes. I love the process, but November 23 changed a lot. My brother's band was having a little concert just outside of town, but the planners and some promoters ripped them off, making the group lose funds and sending them on a forced hiatus. I was pissed off; I was hoping to go with them and have a good time, so I started to change my mind about music and focus on other things.
I've always lived in Burberry, and life has always been great, though filled with ups and downs, but hey, when you have great people around you, you can never go wrong. I have four best friends, well, and a few on the side, but mostly four: Lara, Kelly, Megan, and Ashley—best friends forever. They basically know everything about me, and we're all born in the same year. Megan is the oldest and the most mature one. Lara is always shy—I mean, I am, but not as Lara. Kelly is fun, and Ashley is the nerd, but I say we make a good combo.
Yeah, and about me, we'll find out. I promise you, you won't regret!
Before I forget, I am a foodie, and some of my best meals are ramen noodles. I love sushi and smoothies—grapes, to be exact. And I have never had a boyfriend, or my first kiss yet. But if there's one thing I know, it's that there's always a first time for everything.
We have like a few more months till high school is over, and I planned on going on a vacation to my grandma's house. We don't actually get along that well because I have my opinions on things, and I don't think older people are always right, so that's a problem for her.
