keifer pov
I landed in Manila before sunrise.
The second my feet touched the ground, Honey was already arranging everything for us to head toward the Fernandez Mansion and continue the search for Jay.
Every second without her felt heavier.
Every day that passed made me feel like I was losing her more and more.
And I hated it.
I entered the mansion and saw guards moving everywhere while Angelo was talking with the security team.
angelo : we already checked the ports again. nothing.
keifer : increase the security around every family connected to me.
angelo : already done.
I rubbed my forehead tiredly.
I had barely slept these past few weeks.
All I could think about was Jay.
Where she was.
If she was safe.
If she hated me now.
Then Mica suddenly spoke.
mica : we are trying to find jay here… but what if she already left the country?
The whole room became silent.
Because that possibility made sense.
Too much sense.
That would explain why we couldn't find even a single trace of her.
angelo : should we expand the search internationally?
I slowly nodded.
keifer : do it.
angelo : understood.
Everyone quickly started making calls while I stared outside the window.
My chest felt painfully tight.
keifer (in mind) : wait for me, jay…i will find you no matter which corner of the world you are hiding in.
jay pov
It had been a month since I started living with these idiots.
And somehow…
they still couldn't find anything about why Keifer push me away
Honestly, their detective skills were terrible.
But lately something else had been bothering me.
Every morning I woke up dizzy and nauseous.
Sometimes I couldn't even eat properly.
I thought maybe it was because of stress.
Or maybe because of online high school draining my energy.
Still…
something felt wrong.
I was lying on my bed attending an online class when I suddenly heard Thyme shouting downstairs.
thyme : jay! come downstairs!
I frowned.
He sounded serious.
Too serious.
Thyme never sounded like that unless something big happened.
I quickly went downstairs and froze.
Everyone was sitting in the living room looking unusually serious.
Ren was leaning forward quietly.
MJ looked tense.
Kevin wasn't joking for once.
Even Thyme looked worried.
jay : thyme… you called me?
thyme : yeah. sit first.
My heart suddenly started beating faster.
jay : what happened?
ren : just sit down first, jay.
I slowly sat on the sofa while staring at them nervously.
No one spoke for a few seconds.
The silence was suffocating.
So I finally broke it.
jay : why did he push me away?
Their expressions changed immediately.
MJ sighed heavily.
mj : you know keifer was about to get his inheritance, right?
I slowly nodded.
kevin : because of that… his enemies started increasing. even some people from his own family wanted him gone.
jay : and?
thyme : they found out about you.
I froze.
ren : you became his weakness.
My chest tightened.
jay : what does that have to do with him lying to me?
kevin : they were planning to use you against him.
mj : so keifer pushed you away to protect you.
I stared at them silently.
My throat suddenly hurt.
jay : he could've just told me…
My voice came out small and shaky.
ren : he knew you, jay.
thyme : you would've involved yourself immediately.
jay : but still…
Tears started forming in my eyes.
I quickly stood up before anyone could see me crying.
jay : i want to be alone.
And I went upstairs.
The second I entered my room, I locked the door and slid down against it.
Tears fell uncontrollably.
I hated this.
I hated missing him.
I hated understanding him.
And I hated that despite everything…
a part of me still wanted to see him.
Suddenly a strong wave of nausea hit me.
I quickly rushed toward the bathroom and threw up.
My head started spinning badly afterward.
jay : what is happening to me…
I weakly walked toward my bed, but before I could reach it—
my vision blurred.
The entire room started spinning.
And then—
everything went dark.
thyme pov
After Jay left, the whole living room became silent.
No one knew what to say.
ren : maybe we should've waited before telling her.
mj : yeah…
kevin : that was too much for her.
Thyme sighed heavily and leaned back on the couch.
One hour passed.
Then another thirty minutes.
And suddenly something felt wrong.
Too wrong.
Jay was never this quiet.
Even when upset, she would scream at us at least once.
But now?
Nothing.
Ren suddenly stood up.
ren : i'm checking on her.
We all followed him upstairs.
He knocked on her door.
ren : jay?
No response.
He knocked again harder.
kevin : jay, open the door. it's us.
Still nothing.
A bad feeling immediately settled inside my chest.
Ren's face paled.
ren : break the door.
That was all we needed.
Thyme and Kevin immediately forced the door open.
The second the door opened—
everything stopped.
Jay was lying unconscious on the floor.
thyme : JAY!
Ren quickly ran toward her and checked her pulse.
ren : she's breathing.
mj : why isn't she waking up?!
ren : we are taking her to the hospital now. thyme, get the car!
I quickly ran downstairs while Ren carried Jay in his arms.
She looked so pale.
Too pale.
The drive to the hospital felt endless.
Doctors and nurses immediately rushed her inside while we handled papers and questions.
Every second felt terrifying.
Then finally—
the doctor walked out.
doctor : jasper jean's family?
f4 : us!
doctor : she's stable now. she fainted because of exhaustion and stress. however, we still need to run a few tests to confirm something.
thyme : confirm what?
doctor : we'll talk after the results come out.
And then he left again.
The tension became even worse.
A little while later, Gorya, Kaning, and Tia arrived at the hospital.
gorya : what happened?!
kaning : why did you suddenly call us here?!
tia : where's jay?!
thyme : she fainted…
I explained everything.
From Keifer.
To the truth.
To Jay collapsing.
Everyone became silent afterward.
Tia looked especially worried.
Then after what felt like forever—
the doctor finally returned holding some papers.
doctor : miss mariano's family?
all : yes?!
The doctor adjusted his glasses before speaking.
doctor : miss mariano is...
