"Harry, listen carefully," Wood said seriously while holding up the tiny golden ball. "The Snitch moves faster than lightning itself. A Seeker's entire job is to catch it before the opposing team does."
The golden wings buzzed rapidly between Wood's fingers.
"The moment the Golden Snitch is caught, the team earns one hundred and fifty points, and the match ends immediately."
To put it bluntly, Quidditch was often decided by whichever Seeker caught the Snitch first.
In Wood's mind, he already had a rough vision for Harry's future position on the team. The only thing left was proper training to determine whether Harry truly possessed the talent necessary to become Gryffindor's Seeker.
And honestly?
Wood's instincts were screaming that Harry absolutely did.
Their team might finally have an extraordinary Seeker again.
With that thought, Wood immediately dragged Harry into increasingly intense practice sessions across the Quidditch pitch.
...
Over the following days, life at Hogwarts gradually returned to normal.
The panic caused by the troll attack slowly faded, and students eventually settled back into their usual routines. Although Logan's legend still circulated around the castle, the endless excitement from earlier had finally begun calming down.
Meanwhile, Logan himself had been extremely busy.
Within a few days, he successfully earned recognition from the final professor required for the "Conqueror Instructor" mission.
Mission complete.
As the notification appeared inside his mind, Logan finally let out a satisfied breath.
He received four additional Legendary Points.
Combined with the four he already possessed, his total now reached eight.
Unfortunately, Logan knew that still wasn't enough.
The forbidden spell he planned to create next would require an absurd amount of resources. The revolution had not yet succeeded, and Comrade Logan still needed to continue working hard.
Of course, the mission rewards included more than just Legendary Points.
There was also a special item reward.
The Strange Compass.
Strange Compass:
Silently recite the name of a target item or creature. If the target exists within a limited range, the compass will guide the user towards its approximate direction.
Remaining uses: 3
(The compass will self-destruct after all uses are exhausted.)
Note:
When it comes to catching cheating partners, our compass team are the professionals!
Logan's first impression was that this thing resembled an alternative version of the Marauder's Map.
Although it had limited uses, its functionality was far broader than the Marauder's Map in certain ways. It wasn't restricted to Hogwarts, and it could even track objects instead of only people.
That flexibility made it extremely valuable.
If used correctly, this compass would definitely become one of Logan's most important tools in the future.
Still, this wasn't his biggest reward.
No.
The truly terrifying item was something he had obtained earlier.
The Red Dung Fruit.
When Logan first saw it, he briefly suspected it was some kind of cursed magical fruit.
Then he read the description.
And immediately realised it was far more evil than anything he expected.
Red Dung Fruit:
① An apple formed from unknown excrement-like organic matter. It possesses an unbelievably disgusting texture and smell, yet visually appears identical to a normal apple. Any creature staring at the fruit for more than two seconds will automatically develop the urge to bite it.
② Any creature consuming the fruit enters a weakened state for thirty minutes. Effects cannot stack.
③ As long as the original body remains partially intact, the fruit will restore itself completely after ten seconds.
④ The effects are completely ineffective against the user (Logan Anderson).
Even Logan was stunned after reading the description carefully.
This thing was horrifying.
Not only could it disgust opponents psychologically, but it also inflicted a weakened status effect. More importantly, unless someone consumed the entire fruit in one bite, it could regenerate endlessly and be reused repeatedly.
Compared to the limited-use compass and Dragon Tiger Root, the Red Dung Fruit was practically sustainable warfare equipment.
The more Logan thought about it, the more satisfied he became.
Anyone daring to provoke him in the future would absolutely receive a complimentary "apple."
Naturally, all special system rewards could normally be stored safely inside the grimoire itself until needed.
Which led Logan towards a dangerous thought.
He wanted to test the fruit personally.
Specifically—
He wanted to understand exactly how severe the weakening effect actually was.
And because the Red Dung Fruit regenerated infinitely, there was no reason not to experiment with it.
The only problem was finding a test subject.
Logan immediately rejected using himself.
Even with immunity to the effects, he still had absolutely no interest in eating magical excrement disguised as fruit.
So who could he use instead?
Harry?
No.
Ron?
Definitely not.
Neville?
Absolutely not.
Hermione?
Logan immediately dismissed the idea before it fully formed.
Those were his friends.
Experimenting on them for curiosity's sake would be completely unethical.
Especially Hermione.
Things between them had already become strange enough lately without adding magical dung poisoning into the relationship.
So who else could he use?
The professors were obviously impossible. Attempting something like that on Snape would probably result in Logan dying before the fruit even activated.
For a while, Logan genuinely couldn't think of any suitable victims inside Hogwarts.
Then he suddenly froze.
Wait.
The description specifically mentioned creatures.
That meant the target wasn't limited to humans.
Magical creatures worked too.
The moment Logan realised this, a single candidate immediately appeared inside his mind.
Peter Pettigrew.
Logan's eyes slowly narrowed.
Why waste time hunting dangerous creatures in the Forbidden Forest when Hogwarts already contained the perfect test subject?
Scabbers.
Or rather—
Peter Pettigrew disguised as Scabbers.
Honestly, Logan didn't feel the slightest bit guilty about it.
Peter had betrayed Harry's parents, framed Sirius Black, and indirectly destroyed countless lives. From Logan's perspective, the man was one of the primary reasons Harry's entire childhood had become a disaster.
Testing magical dung fruit on him barely even qualified as punishment.
If anything, Logan considered himself merciful.
Not only would the experiment provide valuable information, but it would also teach Peter a small lesson at the same time.
Two birds with one stone.
Meanwhile, inside the Gryffindor dormitory, a fat grey rat happily sat atop a table while nibbling contentedly on a nut.
Peter Pettigrew had lived in rat form for many years now.
As an unregistered illegal Animagus, transforming into Scabbers had allowed him to survive after Voldemort's downfall while Sirius Black rotted inside Azkaban in his place.
Of course, life as a rat had been humiliating.
But Peter firmly believed something important.
Living miserably was still better than dying gloriously.
His current existence might have been pathetic, but at least it was safe. He never lacked food, shelter, or protection inside the Weasley family.
Honestly?
Things could have been much worse.
Completely lost in his peaceful thoughts, Peter happily took another bite from his nut.
Life was wonderful.
