Chapter 55 - Chapter 55 – The Truth Behind the Gold Cards

After Potions class ended, the four first-years walked side by side through the castle corridors.

Harry still looked furious.

"I'm telling you," he declared angrily, "Snape absolutely was the mastermind behind what happened that night."

His fists clenched tightly.

"The way he targeted me during class today proves it. He knows I've already figured out his true colours!"

Ron immediately nodded so hard it looked painful.

"Exactly!" Ron agreed passionately. "He probably poisoned Scabbers too as part of some evil conspiracy."

Ron lowered his voice dramatically.

"Snape must've realised Harry discovered the truth, so now he's trying to silence us before we expose him."

Hermione originally wanted to argue.

Really.

But somehow, after listening to Harry and Ron repeatedly connect random events together with absurd confidence, even she began feeling uncertain.

Especially when she remembered Snape's injured leg from that night.

A terrifying thought slowly surfaced inside her mind.

What if the wound really had come from the three-headed dog?

And if that was true…

Then perhaps the Cerberus truly was guarding something important.

Hermione's expression slowly changed.

"Wait…" she muttered thoughtfully. "What if Snape released the troll intentionally to distract everyone?"

Harry and Ron instantly turned towards her.

Hermione continued analysing rapidly.

"If the troll caused chaos throughout Hogwarts, then everyone's attention would be elsewhere. That would give Snape an opportunity to sneak past the three-headed dog and steal whatever it's protecting."

The more she explained, the more convinced she sounded.

Harry and Ron's eyes immediately lit up.

"That's brilliant!"

"Hermione, you're a genius!"

The two boys almost started applauding on the spot.

All three of them now firmly believed they had uncovered a massive conspiracy.

They absolutely needed to investigate what Snape was trying to steal.

Technically speaking, Hermione's deduction actually approached parts of the truth.

Unfortunately, after prolonged exposure to Harry and Ron's detective abilities, her suspicions still ended up landing directly on Snape.

Meanwhile, Logan silently watched the three increasingly excited conspiracy theorists while deciding not to interfere.

Honestly, as long as they were happy.

No matter how hard they investigated, everything would somehow return to Snape eventually anyway.

At that exact moment, Fred and George suddenly appeared out of nowhere directly in front of the group.

The four first-years immediately stopped walking.

Why were the twins here?

They didn't even have lessons in this corridor today.

Ron frowned suspiciously, preparing to ask questions.

Before he could speak, George walked directly over to Logan and patted him heavily on the shoulder.

"Logan," George whispered solemnly, "you truly are our greatest business partner."

Fred immediately nodded beside him.

George continued proudly, "Here's your rightful share of the profits. We sincerely apologise for using your image rights without permission."

Then he added even more dramatically—

"And from this day forward, Fred and I will always be your loyal senior brothers and strongest supporters!"

Before Logan could react, Fred abruptly shoved a heavy black bag into his hands.

Clink.

The unmistakable sound of gold echoed from inside.

Then, without explaining anything further, the twins immediately fled down the corridor at top speed.

They didn't even stop to acknowledge Ron.

Ron stood there in stunned silence.

At that moment, he genuinely felt like he had been adopted accidentally.

Since when had Logan become their beloved younger brother?

What was Ron supposed to be then?

Meanwhile, even Logan himself looked confused.

Why had Fred and George suddenly appeared just to give him a bag full of Galleons?

And what nonsense were they talking about regarding image rights?

Logan didn't remember agreeing to anything.

Were they seriously just giving him money for no reason?

That felt suspiciously generous.

More importantly, based on what Logan remembered about the Weasley family's financial situation, the twins absolutely shouldn't have possessed this much money in the first place.

So where exactly did all these Galleons come from?

Had they robbed Gringotts?

Eventually, Logan decided he needed to have a proper conversation with the twins later.

Beside him, Harry and Ron both stared at the heavy bag with disbelief.

Ron looked especially heartbroken.

"Why would Fred and George give you this much money?" he asked sourly.

"I'm their actual younger brother!"

Harry was equally shocked.

More specifically, he was shocked the twins somehow possessed enough money to casually hand over an entire sack of Galleons.

Unfortunately, Logan himself couldn't answer any of their questions because he honestly had no idea either.

Then—

Hermione suddenly spoke.

"Oh?" she said sweetly. "Looks like someone still doesn't realise how popular he's become lately."

Her smile looked dangerous.

"Some witches apparently sleep while hugging his gold cards against their chests now. Isn't that adorable?"

The atmosphere instantly changed.

Harry's survival instincts activated immediately.

His eyes darted between Hermione and Logan before he silently grabbed Ron's sleeve and slowly pulled him backwards several steps.

Logan remained completely unaware of the approaching disaster.

"Hermione?" he asked curiously. "Why are you speaking so strangely?"

Then he blinked innocently.

"Do you know what Fred and George were talking about?"

Hermione turned towards him slowly.

The look in her eyes instantly reminded Logan of a furious wife catching her husband cheating inside a hotel room.

Danger.

Extreme danger.

"Oh, I know exactly what they meant," Hermione replied pleasantly.

Logan's survival instincts finally began screaming.

He immediately turned towards Harry for help—

Only to discover his "good friend" had already retreated several metres away while watching him with deep sympathy.

Logan nearly stopped breathing.

What happened to friendship?!

He had literally comforted Harry during Potions class earlier!

And now Harry abandoned him immediately?

As though understanding Logan's betrayed expression, Harry sighed helplessly.

"It's not that I don't want to help you, mate," Harry said solemnly. "But sometimes… you need to understand the situation."

Then he quietly stepped another metre backwards.

Logan suddenly had a terrible feeling.

....

Several minutes later, the truth finally emerged.

Fred and George had apparently turned Logan himself into commercial merchandise.

His feelings became extremely complicated afterwards.

On one hand, having his photographs secretly sold across Hogwarts without permission was honestly outrageous.

On the other hand…

The twins had voluntarily given him a share of the profits afterwards.

And technically speaking, their little business really did qualify as an impressive money-making scheme.

More importantly, the entire situation indirectly boosted Logan's popularity throughout Hogwarts even further.

Which honestly wasn't entirely bad for future plans.

Logan reluctantly admitted one thing.

Fred and George occasionally came up with genuinely brilliant ideas.

In fact, sometimes it felt like the two of them should've become businessmen instead of wizards.

If they entered the Muggle world properly someday, they might actually become terrifyingly successful entrepreneurs.
