Chapter 56 - Chapter 56 – Hermione’s Anger

Hermione was furious.

Those so-called Dream Gold Cards were absolutely ridiculous.

Only brainless little witches would believe such absurd nonsense.

What?

Owning a gold card meant you were destined to end up with Logan?

Please.

How could anyone believe something so stupid?

Were their brains filled with mashed potatoes?

And the most outrageous part was the price.

Worthless golden cards were being sold around Hogwarts for outrageous amounts of Galleons, while those rich pure-blood girls proudly showed them off like engagement rings.

Some of them even carried Logan's moving photographs around everywhere as though they were already planning the wedding ceremony.

And inside Hermione's own dormitory—

One girl actually slept while hugging the card against her chest beneath her pyjamas.

Hermione nearly died on the spot after witnessing it.

What kind of disturbing behaviour was that?

Perverted.

Absolutely perverted.

For some reason, Hermione suddenly felt strangely cheated on.

The worst part was that she couldn't even storm over and rip those ridiculous cards into pieces.

After all, the girls had spent actual money buying them.

Technically speaking, the cards belonged to them now.

And more importantly—

In what position could Hermione possibly criticise them?

She and Logan were only friends.

Good classmates.

Good rivals.

That was all.

They weren't in that kind of relationship whatsoever.

So she had absolutely no right to interfere.

Fortunately, Logan himself seemed completely unaware of the entire scheme.

Which meant Fred and George acted independently without his approval.

At least that counted as a small blessing.

Nearby, Ron stared at Logan's side profile with deep envy.

He genuinely never expected being handsome could practically print money.

Fred and George had simply taken a few photographs, coloured some cards gold, and somehow earned piles of Galleons.

Ron suddenly felt inspired.

If he looked as handsome as Logan, couldn't he also sell magical photographs of himself around Hogwarts?

Maybe some girls would buy them too.

The more Ron imagined the idea, the more excited he became.

Eventually, a dreamy smile slowly appeared across his face.

Harry quietly glanced at him.

Something about Ron's expression looked deeply concerning.

Without hesitation, Harry casually moved another metre away.

Boys needed to protect themselves while outside.

Just then—

A small figure suddenly collided into Logan from behind.

"Ah!"

Both people fell directly onto the corridor floor together.

"Oh no—I'm so sorry!"

The girl quickly stood up while nervously dusting off her robes before reaching down and grabbing Logan's arm to help him back up.

Only then did Logan properly see her face.

The girl looked extremely pretty.

Delicate features.

Clear skin.

Definitely the sort of witch who would become exceptionally beautiful in a few years.

Unfortunately, Logan had absolutely no memory of her whatsoever.

The little witch immediately grabbed both his hands excitedly.

"You're Logan Anderson, right?" she asked brightly. "I'm Eralika from Ravenclaw!"

Her smile widened further.

"I can't believe we ran into each other here. What an amazing coincidence."

Then she lowered her voice slightly.

"Perhaps this is fate."

Logan blinked.

Was it?

Honestly, the collision felt suspiciously deliberate to him.

Of course, saying that directly to someone's face would be unbelievably rude.

So instead, Logan politely smiled.

"I'm just glad you weren't hurt," he replied. "Be more careful next time."

Beside them, Hermione narrowed her eyes instantly.

Coincidence?

Fate?

What nonsense.

Her internal "suspicious witch detector" began screaming immediately.

The corridor was incredibly wide.

And Logan was standing there like a bloody lamp post.

How exactly did this Ravenclaw girl somehow "accidentally" crash into him?

More importantly—

Why Logan specifically?

Why not Ron?

Or Harry?

Obviously intentional.

Eralika, meanwhile, remained unusually enthusiastic.

Every time Logan attempted ending the conversation politely, she smoothly dragged the discussion somewhere else instead.

It was obvious she had no intention of letting him escape anytime soon.

Hermione silently tightened her grip around the books in her arms.

Then—

Without saying another word—

She turned around and stormed off furiously.

Harry immediately sensed disaster approaching.

Without hesitation, he grabbed Logan by the sleeve and apologised quickly towards Eralika.

"Sorry, Eralika," Harry said rapidly. "Logan and I already agreed to head back and play wizard chess."

Before anyone could respond, Harry physically dragged Logan away down the corridor.

Eralika watched them leave calmly.

She clearly recognised the excuse for what it was, but instead of getting angry, she simply smiled faintly while staring at Logan's retreating figure.

Slowly, she raised a hand towards her cheek and stroked it lightly.

"There's still plenty of time ahead of us, Logan Anderson…"

Her eyes gleamed strangely.

"We can learn about each other slowly."

....

On the way back towards Gryffindor Tower, Logan finally let out a breath of relief.

"Thanks for rescuing me earlier," he told Harry sincerely. "Otherwise I've no idea how long that Ravenclaw girl would've kept talking."

Harry looked at him strangely.

"You should probably focus on something else right now," he replied.

Logan blinked.

"What?"

"Hermione just ran off looking furious," Harry said flatly. "Surely you understand that's the important issue here."

Logan stared at him blankly.

Why would Hermione being angry have anything to do with him?

Unless…

Wait.

A terrifying possibility suddenly appeared inside Logan's mind.

Could Hermione actually like him?

Was she jealous?

Logan nearly scared himself with the thought.

Back in his previous life, he had experienced relationships before.

And honestly?

He found them exhausting.

At first, romance always felt wonderful.

But over time, feelings slowly wore down beneath daily life, arguments, expectations, and compromises. Most relationships eventually ended in only two ways:

Either people forced themselves to continue enduring things…

Or they broke up completely.

Very few genuinely reached the end together.

Love was like a walled city.

People outside desperately wanted to enter.

People inside desperately wanted to escape.

That was why Logan eventually stopped dating entirely in his previous life. Even when female colleagues invited him out, he always refused politely.

And afterwards…

He stayed home alone playing browser games.

Then one day, he used cheat codes.

And somehow transmigrated into the bloody Harry Potter world.

Thinking about it now—

If he'd simply agreed to one of those invitations back then, maybe none of this would've happened at all.
