Chapter 57 - Chapter 57 – Malfoy’s Secret Crisis

"How could it possibly be Fred and George...?"

Draco Malfoy stood alone in the corridor muttering anxiously to himself.

Originally, he wanted to find the mysterious merchants selling Logan's Dream Gold Cards.

Unfortunately, Crabbe and Goyle proved completely useless once again.

They knew absolutely nothing.

Which forced Malfoy into investigating personally.

After secretly gathering information from various girls throughout Slytherin, he finally uncovered the horrifying truth—

The mysterious card dealers were actually Fred and George Weasley.

The two people Malfoy hated most at Hogwarts.

For several seconds, Malfoy simply stood there silently while his expression twisted painfully.

On one hand, he desperately wanted those No. Series Dream Gold Cards.

The thought of possessing cards featuring Logan's moving photographs made his heart burn with excitement.

But on the other hand—

His pride as a pure-blood wizard screamed at him in protest.

The Weasleys.

Those impoverished blood traitors.

How could Draco Malfoy lower himself to beg them for merchandise?

That would be an unforgivable humiliation to pure-blood society.

Sending Crabbe and Goyle secretly to purchase them wouldn't work either.

Everyone at Hogwarts knew those two idiots belonged to him.

Using them would essentially announce to the entire castle:

"Draco Malfoy desperately wants Logan Anderson merchandise."

Absolutely impossible.

Buying cards from female students also failed miserably.

At first, the girls chatted pleasantly enough.

But the moment Malfoy offered high prices for their cards—

Everything changed instantly.

No matter whether he offered double or triple the original price, those little witches refused completely.

One girl even hit him with her handbag.

Thinking about it now still made Malfoy touch the sore spot on his forehead resentfully.

Several minutes later, Malfoy found himself unconsciously walking towards a secluded corner outside Hogwarts.

Only after arriving did he suddenly freeze.

Wait.

Why did he come here?

Was some mysterious force controlling his body?

Then Malfoy remembered something.

This corner happened to be one of Fred and George's usual trading locations.

Well…

Since he was already here accidentally…

Maybe taking a quick look wouldn't hurt.

Just looking.

Nothing more.

After barely convincing himself, Malfoy cautiously approached the corner ahead.

Then—

He stopped abruptly.

A familiar witch currently stood there speaking with Fred and George.

Malfoy instinctively hid nearby and began eavesdropping.

"We truly never expected someone as distinguished as Lady Lacey from Slytherin to visit us personally," Fred said dramatically.

George immediately nodded.

"What an honour," he added solemnly. "May we ask what Miss Lacey wishes to purchase today?"

Lacey?

Malfoy's eyes widened slightly.

He recognised her immediately.

They had met several times during gatherings between major pure-blood families.

Lacey came from a wealthy and influential old wizarding family.

Although her family's status still fell below the Malfoys, they possessed enormous financial influence throughout certain magical industries.

Even Draco had to acknowledge that fact.

But why was she here?

Lacey folded her arms arrogantly.

"I heard you two are selling gold cards," she said coolly. "I'm interested."

Then she raised her chin slightly.

"Name your price."

"I want every remaining card you have."

Fred and George exchanged stunned looks.

Meanwhile, hidden nearby, Malfoy felt something deeply wrong with reality itself.

Why did Lacey want Logan's cards?

Among all four houses, Slytherin generally showed the least enthusiasm towards Logan Anderson.

Most pure-blood boys openly disliked him.

And many Slytherin girls claimed similar things publicly.

Their reasoning was always the same.

Logan was talented, yes.

But he wasn't from a proper pure-blood family.

Malfoy personally considered those people complete idiots.

In his opinion, blood status meant absolutely nothing compared to genuine greatness.

And one day, Logan would undoubtedly prove every single one of them wrong.

Malfoy firmly believed that.

Which made this entire situation even stranger.

Because Lacey herself had publicly criticised Logan multiple times inside the Slytherin common room.

She openly mocked him.

Claimed he was overrated.

Even declared once that Logan would eventually "pay for his arrogance."

So why was she secretly trying to buy his gold cards now?

A terrifying possibility suddenly struck Malfoy.

Could she actually be one of those girls secretly obsessed with Logan while pretending otherwise publicly?

Or worse—

Was she planning something against him?

Malfoy instantly became alert.

Indeed.

Being too outstanding wasn't always a good thing.

But fortunately—

Draco Malfoy would never allow Lacey's evil scheme to succeed.

At the same time, Fred and George themselves looked visibly suspicious.

"You seriously want to buy Logan Anderson's gold cards?" George asked slowly.

"Are you trying to prank us?"

Fred stared at Lacey carefully.

Then, after accidentally noticing certain impressive physical features for several seconds too long, he quickly regained his composure.

"If I remember correctly," Fred said suspiciously, "you regularly insult non-pure-blood wizards inside Slytherin Tower."

He narrowed his eyes.

"Logan isn't pure-blood."

George crossed his arms beside him.

"So unless you explain properly," Fred concluded, "we're refusing to sell you anything."

Lacey's expression instantly darkened.

Disgust appeared openly on her beautiful face.

"Are the two of you insane?" she snapped arrogantly.

"You have customers willing to spend money, and instead you want to interrogate me?"

Her voice became sharper.

"What right do you have to lecture me over personal opinions?"
