Keifer's Pov
As I finished and looked at her,
She didn't say anything instead she just moved and hugged me,
I just pulled a little and she looked at me but I wasn't able to look at her,
I just muttered,
Keifer: "I have some work, I have to go out, don't wait for me."
I said and left the place leaving her confused,
While she called for me,
Jay: "Keifer wait."
I shut the door but her voice echoed, I took my car keys and went.
I just wanted to be alone for sometime, because if I stay with her for one more minute, I might lose my mind and blabber everything to her.
Which I know it will end up, we will become awkward and distant.
I would never want that, because there is already no one in my life, I don't want to loose the one person that matters to me more than anything in the world.
I drove away from the city for some air but strangely I couldn't breathe because everything felt heavy even breathing.
I got out of the car and just stood there thinking about the situation which I had no control whatsoever.
I let out a breathe.
Then I checked my phone there was multiple missed calls from Jay and even now she is calling.
I answered her call,
She asked with a voice filled with panic,
Jay: "Keifer, Where are you?."
Keifer: "Jay." She didn't even let speak because of her fear,
Jay: "Keifer I am scared by your behaviour, what are you doing? Come back home." She pleaded.
Which made me even more sad because of the situation, I pushed her into while she is already in distress.
I held my forehead,
Keifer: "I am sorry, I will be back."
Jay: "Okay, Come soon."
I said and went straight to my car mindlessly and started driving towards her,
I reached home and went inside and I see her running from the room towards me,
She tackled me in a hug and I was taken aback a little,
When she hugged me, I just let myself to pretend, that maybe this is how we would be if we were a couple. A grin appeared on my face.
I don't know what happened but I did understood one thing, even though she might not know the reason for my pain,
Maybe she is my pain and calm to my heart,
I never want to lose even though it pains me.
I hugged her back tightly.
Then we pulled back,
Jay: "Idiot, who leaves like that in middle of an emotional conversation, are you mad? What was I supposed to think?"
She asked angrily but beneath all I could see was her care,
I just smiled, which made her more furious,
Jay: "You jerk."
Keifer: "Don't worry, I won't take stupid decisions."
Jay: "Do something like this again. I myself will push from the hill."
I just laughed and she tried to hide it but couldn't and joined me and I felt light a little,
Then we settled on the couch,
Jay: "Keifer." She called me softly,
Keifer: "Yes" she looked at me in the eye,
Jay: "I think maybe we should just call off the plan."
I stayed silent and let her continue,
Jay: "I mean look at us, we did what we could, maybe they aren't meant for us."
I know she was talking about David and Freya but why does her words hurt me more.
Jay: "Maybe they both are one they were supposed to fall in love and we were just passing clouds. And also us we too deserve more than the bare minimum they were giving us, I mean even we went on better outings than everything we went with them."
I just smiled at her,
Jay: "I think we should close this chapter here."
I chuckled because that chapter was closed by me a long time ago and I never looked back.
Keifer: "Okay."
And she smiled,
Jay: "Great and one more thing, I know this hurts but If you need talk about this or something, You know I am always there."
She sounded so genuine and apart from love one more thing I admired is our friendship.
I just nodded and said,
Keifer: "Sure." With a smile.
Jay: "That's my boy." She said and patted on my head.
Keifer: "Stop, Stop right there."
I said and pushed her a little, when she tackled,
Then all I can hear was our laughter.
And it was followed by the bell.
Jay's Pov
We looked at eachother and both of us went and opened the door and it was an unexpected company,
Freya and David.
Keifer: "Come in. " he said normally, I wasn't focused on them, I was focused on him because of the breakdown he just had, I just hope it doesn't affect him.
They came in and settled and he went in to get something for them, but something about seeing them together did nothing to me, I thought it would affect me but weirdly it didn't they way I thought it would be and I was glad maybe It was just in my head
David: "Sorry for dropping suddenly guys."
I just smiled and said,
Jay: "It's fine, we are done with our work, So it's not a problem."
Keifer: "Here you go." He said placing the tray.
He sat on the couch and I sat close to him, just to make sure he is okay.
I kept my hands on his back and kept patting him gently.
He looked at me discreetly and smiled.
And I returned.
Freya: "Well, we are just here to give you guys the invite and wanted to know if you guys will have dates."
Keifer was about to speak but I interrupted him,
I looped my arm around his,
Jay: " Well, Thank you so much. And I guess one invite will be fine, and we will working anyways and about the dates, I think we will be eachother's plus one to the wedding."
I said and everyone around the room with surprise or shock, I guess.
What was I supposed to do, it seemed like she was mocking us, and especially after his breakdown I am not letting him go through this.
I just gave them a grin calmly.
Freya: "Wow, it's good then I guess." She replied awkwardly with a smile
Jay: "Yes it is."
David: "Okay, then we will see at events, which is going to pretty soon, I guess."
Jay: "Yes, we will." I said and looked at Keif,
Keifer: "Ahh … he looked at me … yes Sure, will see you." He said and looked at them.
They stood up and we did too and I did not remove my hand from his still.
Then they bid bye. And we locked the door.
He looked at me,
And we went and settled on the couch,
He was about to speak to me, when the bell rang again and he looked at me and I signed him to answer the door.
He went and opened and
Keifer: "What are you doing here?"
He said and I looked at the person.
