Chapter 80 - Chapter 80 – The Great Hogwarts Snow War

After the snowfall, Hogwarts resembled a dreamlike kingdom of silver and ice.

Snow covered every rooftop, courtyard, and tower beneath a pale winter sky. The Black Lake shimmered like polished crystal while cold winds carried swirling snowflakes across the grounds.

And in the middle of all that beauty—

War had begun.

A snowball war.

Leo stood proudly atop the shoulder of the enormous snow mecha, looking every bit the commander overseeing a battlefield.

The gigantic construct towered over the lakeside, radiating overwhelming pressure.

Leo folded his arms calmly.

Confidence and amusement filled his eyes.

Meanwhile, Draco and the others crowded inside the enlarged snow excavator opposite him.

Draco crossed his arms with visible dissatisfaction.

"Hmph. Why do all of us have to share this thing?"

He looked around the cramped cabin.

"There's nothing elegant about it."

Ron burst out laughing.

"Elegant?"

He nearly doubled over.

"Draco, you should be more worried about getting buried alive in snow later!"

Charlotte bounced excitedly inside the cabin like an overexcited bird.

"This is amazing!"

Her eyes sparkled.

"This is going to be the greatest snowball fight ever!"

Even Hermione looked unusually excited.

Her eyes shone brightly as she stared at the two giant snow constructs facing one another.

"With things this size," she said eagerly, "I don't think this can even be called a snowball fight anymore."

At first, everyone had been annoyed about sharing control of the excavator.

Nobody knew exactly what role they should take.

Then Charlotte noticed the enormous digging arm.

Her eyes immediately lit up.

"I've got it!"

She raised her wand.

The gigantic hook arm lurched into motion.

Snow erupted upward in huge waves as the arm swung through the battlefield like a giant weapon.

Charlotte grinned triumphantly.

Hermione immediately understood.

Without hesitation, she seized command.

"Draco, move left three steps."

"Charlotte, adjust the throwing angle."

Her voice became sharp and focused.

"Ron, watch the right flank."

"Harry, tell me if Leo tries anything sneaky."

For a brief moment, it genuinely felt like she was directing a military operation.

Draco naturally refused to lose face.

"Hmph. I already knew that."

Even while speaking arrogantly, however, he focused completely on controlling the excavator.

The machine quickly became far more coordinated.

Meanwhile, Harry leaned casually against the cabin wall.

He had no interest in fighting over control.

Ron, on the other hand, clearly wanted an important position but lacked the courage to challenge either Hermione or Draco.

As a result, he became support staff.

"This is ridiculous," Ron complained.

"You lot stole all the important jobs."

Harry laughed.

"It's fine."

He patted Ron's shoulder.

"We'll still win together."

Outside—

The battle escalated rapidly.

Leo's giant snow mecha launched massive snowballs across the battlefield like artillery shells.

BOOM!

The excavator barely blocked one using its giant shovel.

Snow exploded everywhere.

At first, the excavator could only defend awkwardly while Leo overwhelmed them through sheer firepower.

But slowly—

Hermione's command structure began taking effect.

"Rotate right!"

"Charlotte, hook swing now!"

"Draco, stabilise the left side!"

Under her direction, the excavator finally began fighting back.

The digging arm scooped up enormous quantities of snow before launching them forward like a catapult.

The battlefield instantly descended into chaos.

Massive snowballs flew everywhere.

Some exploded against the ground and created giant craters.

Others collided midair and burst into glittering snowstorms.

Leo's mecha dodged fluidly while retaliating continuously.

Then suddenly—

The giant robot changed tactics.

Instead of attacking from range, it charged directly toward the excavator.

THOOM.

THOOM.

THOOM.

Each step shook the snowy field.

The excavator immediately charged forward as well.

Then—

The two colossal constructs collided head-on.

BOOOOOOM!

The mecha threw a massive punch.

The excavator blocked with its digging arm.

Snow erupted into the air like an avalanche.

The surrounding students stared in complete shock.

Their mouths hung open.

Some screamed excitedly.

Others immediately ran back toward the castle to summon more spectators.

Nobody had ever seen a snowball fight like this.

The giant mecha battle only grew more intense.

The robot launched heavy punches while the excavator countered with its hook arm and giant shovel.

Snow exploded everywhere as the two massive machines wrestled across the frozen field.

Then suddenly—

A loud commotion erupted nearby.

Everyone turned simultaneously.

The Weasley twins had arrived.

Fred and George raced toward the battlefield with a huge crowd of students following behind them.

Both twins carried armfuls of snowballs while grinning wildly.

"We heard there was a legendary snowball battle happening!"

Fred shouted.

"And naturally," George continued,

"The Weasleys couldn't miss it!"

Then they finally noticed the giant robot.

And the excavator.

Their eyes immediately lit up.

Fred pointed dramatically.

"George."

"Yes, Fred?"

"This."

George nodded solemnly.

"Is brilliant."

Then both twins raised their wands.

"We absolutely cannot lose to them."

"Watch this!"

The surrounding snow immediately surged together.

The ground trembled violently.

A gigantic snow giant slowly rose from the earth.

The towering creature glittered beneath the winter sunlight like a living titan of ice.

Its enormous arms swung heavily while freezing winds roared around its body.

The moment it fully formed—

It charged directly toward both sides.

"Oi!"

Draco shouted furiously.

"Why are they attacking everyone?"

Fred laughed.

"Because chaos is more fun!"

George nodded enthusiastically.

"Much more fun!"

Leo's mecha reacted instantly.

Massive snowballs launched toward the advancing giant like missiles.

The snow giant smashed through them with its fists.

Meanwhile, the excavator also joined the battle fully, launching giant projectiles from its shovel.

The battlefield descended into complete pandemonium.

Snowballs exploded everywhere.

The giant roared forward.

The excavator fought desperately.

Leo's mecha counterattacked continuously.

And then—

More students arrived.

Lots more.

The spectacle had become impossible to ignore.

Ravenclaws.

Hufflepuffs.

Even older students.

Everyone rushed toward the lakeside.

Some arrived merely to watch.

Others took one look at the battlefield and immediately joined.

Within minutes, dozens of snowballs filled the air.

Then dozens became hundreds.

Soon magical snow creatures began appearing everywhere.

A group of Ravenclaws created a giant snow dragon.

Several Hufflepuffs built a herd of charging snow hippogriffs.

One particularly ambitious seventh-year somehow constructed a snow fortress complete with battlements and magically animated defenders.

The battlefield expanded rapidly.

It no longer resembled a snowball fight.

It resembled a war.

A very ridiculous war.

And it was glorious.

Even the professors eventually noticed.

From a distant castle window, Professor McGonagall stared at the battlefield.

Her expression became increasingly complicated.

Beside her, Professor Flitwick stood on a stack of books so he could see properly.

"Remarkable!"

He sounded genuinely impressed.

"Look at the transfiguration work!"

McGonagall pinched the bridge of her nose.

"Those children are going to level half the grounds."

Meanwhile, Hagrid stood outside his hut laughing so hard that Fang began barking in confusion.

"Now that's a proper winter activity!"

The giant gamekeeper nearly doubled over.

Back on the battlefield—

Leo watched as the number of combatants continued growing.

Then he smiled.

If everyone was joining...

Why stop now?

He extended both hands.

The snow mecha suddenly began expanding.

More snow rushed toward it.

Its body grew larger.

And larger.

And larger.

The giant machine rose above the battlefield like a frozen colossus.

The shadow it cast stretched across half the lakeside.

The entire battlefield fell silent.

Harry stared upward.

"…Leo."

"Yes?"

"What exactly are you doing?"

Leo smiled brightly.

"Escalating."

A second later, the giant snow colossus raised one enormous hand.

And launched a snowball the size of a carriage.

The Great Hogwarts Snow War entered its next phase.
