Right as [The World] shot out of Arthur to grab the dark blur tearing through the air, the thing let out this insane screech.
Then suddenly, Momo Yaoyorozu and the other girls felt this intense chill. Like when Shoto Todoroki uses his Quirk.
Instantly, the air mid-flight started freezing fast, slowing [The World] down by like half a second.
Whoosh!
The shadow changed direction mid-air, zipping past [The World]'s face like an arrow.
Swish
A cut appeared on [The World]'s cheek, and a little blood sprayed out.
Right then, a bloody gash showed up on Arthur's face too.
"Arthur!" Momo shouted, freaked out.
"Interesting," Arthur said, wiping the blood off his face as he turned to look.
Everyone else turned too and saw that the shadow was literally just a hawk with super sharp eyes.
"Wait... a hawk?" Itsuka Kendo said, confused.
Then the hawk's eyes were crazy sharp, like actual blades, and she flinched back half a step. "Those eyes..."
"A normal hawk can't move that fast. Arthur's Quirk is precise enough to catch bullets," Momo said, not believing it.
Feeling the killer intent rolling off the hawk, Momo raised her hand to signal Tsuyu and the others to back up. "Everyone, get back! That bird has the vibe of someone who's actually killed people."
Unlike Tsuyu and the other girls who hadn't been in real life-or-death fights, Momo had fought alongside Arthur against plenty of nasty criminals. That bloodthirsty aura was real.
Then the hawk's beak curved a little.
That made Kyoka Jiro shiver hard. "Dude, did that thing just smile? Can birds even smile?"
"Koda, your Quirk lets you talk to animals, right? What's it saying?" Itsuka Kendo suddenly remembered and yelled at Koji Koda.
Koji covered his head with both hands, stuttering in panic. "I-I can't talk to it! Its heart is full of murderous rage! It's terrifying!"
"Hey, Koda."
Arthur walked past Momo and the other girls, hands on his hips, and couldn't help but smile.
This guy... if his guess was right, the hawk's real identity had to be that one. No doubt. Fate or something?
"Skreeech!" The hawk let out another sharp cry, either excited or because it sensed something similar in Arthur. Its creepy smile got even bigger.
Crack, crack, crack, crack, crack, crack!!
The hawk spread its wings, and the air around it turned bluish-white.
It froze the air itself.
"That's just like Todoroki's Quirk!" Mina Ashido yelled.
Then the frozen air condensed into triangular ice spears. Honestly, in terms of precision, Shoto Todoroki might not even be this good. He usually just blasts everything at once and makes an ice mountain.
"Hah!!!" The hawk shrieked, and the ice pillars around its wings launched forward.
[The World] instantly blocked in front of Arthur, its muscular arms throwing punches at super speed, shattering every single ice pillar into pieces.
"Holy crap!" Ochaco Uraraka, Mina, and the others clenched their fists and cheered. "He blocked all of them! Go Vice Prez!"
But Arthur didn't look proud at all. He felt the cold creeping up from below.
In an instant, he jumped up and looked down.
The spreading ice shards, like a snake waiting to strike, had been hiding in the shadows and now swept across the ground under his feet. In one go, it froze Momo, Itsuka Kendo, Koji Koda, and the others to the spot.
"Ahhh! I'm frozen!" Mina yelped, trying to pull back, but her feet were completely stuck.
"Okay, I get it! That bird's first attack on Arthur was just a fake-out. Its real goal was to block our escape with ice!" Kyoka Jiro said, finally realizing.
"It's even more agile than Todoroki!" Ochaco said, totally shocked.
"Peep peep!"
While trapping everyone, the hawk started rapidly freezing the whole training ground's air into ice. At the same time, a freezing breath slowly condensed into a shape behind it.
It turned into a weird monster about the size of a person, with a pair of bloody red eyes and a face like a dinosaur skull, but with six centipede legs on its lower body. Once the hawk summoned it, the whole training ground got even colder than before.
"Exactly!" Arthur landed from mid-air, staring at the hawk with pure excitement. Like a gambler who just saw his chance to win big.
Itsuka Kendo shouted, "That bird has a Quirk too!"
"No," Momo said, gritting her teeth while frozen to the ground. "It's more like it has the same Quirk as Arthur. That bird is also a Stand user."

It can freeze air into ice or shape ice into weapons to attack. In the original Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, it was one of Dio's main subordinates.
But unlike Dio's bird in the original, this hawk's Stand is also visible to other people. That means it's something that belongs to this world. It's the second animal to awaken a Quirk after U.A. High's principal, Nezu.
"I'm taking it," Arthur said with a scowl.
"Arthur!" Momo shouted.
"Stay put, Momo," Arthur said, narrowing his eyes. "After I deal with this guy, I'll come free you."
"Skreee!" The hawk's eyebrow twitched, and its Stand, Horus, bared its teeth behind it with a piercing shriek.
Crack, crack, crack, crack, crack, crack!!!
In the frozen air, tons of ice started forming into triangular pillars. At a glance, it looked like super-sized hail, no joke.
This bird felt even stronger than the one from the original.
[The World] got into a fighting stance, ready to take all the hits. Suffocating cold and killing intent filled the whole training ground.
Right as [The World] and Horus were about to clash

Countless red feathers flew in from somewhere and smashed all the ice blocks Horus had made. The hawk's expression totally changed, and it immediately shot into the sky, turning to look.
"Wait, this attack method..." Momo's eyes locked onto the scattered red feathers.
Everyone else looked toward where the feathers came from. The feathers all flew back into the air and formed a pair of giant wings. A short guy in goggles, around twenty years old with a beard on his chin, was soaring mid-air with a pair of crimson wings, looking down.
"You, you're..."
"The No. 3 Hero! The Wing Hero, Hawks!"
"Why is the No. 3 Hero here?!" The frozen girls shouted in disbelief.
Whoosh!
In an instant, the hawk vanished from mid-air, disappearing into the deep sky among the clouds at a speed too fast to track. Arthur's eyelid twitched. He merged [The World] with his body like he was about to jump up and chase, but Hawks spread his wings and blocked his path.
"Don't you think your frozen friends behind you are more important than chasing that bird, hero candidate?" Hawks said casually.
"Young man, Arthur!"
A loud thud echoed as All Might in his muscle form suddenly appeared. He was also surprised to see Hawks. "Hawks? What are you doing here?"
Midnight, Thirteen, and the other teachers also arrived quickly. Seeing the scattered ice shards on the ground and the No. 3 Hero there, they looked just as confused as All Might.
"I'll explain later." Hawks spread his hands, then crooked a finger toward Momo and the other girls with frozen feet. "You teachers should check on the students first."
Seeing that, Midnight and the others quickly called Recovery Girl to help get Momo and the rest unstuck.
"I can't sense Horus's aura anymore." Arthur glanced in the direction the hawk flew, then looked away. "Whatever. Since it's also a Stand user, we'll meet again soon enough."
Recovery Girl showed up fast and unfroze everyone's feet. All Might told the whole class to return to the classroom, then took Hawks to the principal's office.

But after hearing that Arthur and the others had run into an animal with a Quirk and even met the No. 3 Hero Hawks, everyone immediately started discussing that instead.
"The No. 3 Hero, the Wing Hero, Hawks!" Izuku Midoriya's eyes lit up. "He opened his own agency at 18 and made the top ten in the rankings back then. He's the first hero in history to hit the top ten as a teenager. His Quirk is Fierce Wings, and people call him the guy who's too fast!"
Compared to Izuku, who was more focused on Hawks, Shoto Todoroki was thinking more about the hawk. According to Mina Ashido's description, the opponent also had an ice Quirk. And like Arthur and Tokoyami, it could summon a living creature.
