Almost Three years had passed since the first war with the demons. Rick had spent all three years researching the magic.
Now he thought it was time to recruit some people with him and make his squad.
All this began almost five years ago when the so-called God appeared.
Rick can't forget the day that had happened, his whole life turned upside down that day.
On that day everyone on earth was teleported to a different dimension. It was like space where they were floating in it.
Around them there were stars everywhere like in the night sky.
As far as Rick could see there were people floating. Then suddenly a white appeared above them.
It took the form of a human.
"Welcome my subjects. I am the one who created the earth. One who you call God. I have called all of you here to give you all a very important task." He said his voice directly in everybody's head.
"I am not alone, there are other gods who have made their worlds with different species. You have to fight them and establish your dominance. As well as prove me the ultimate creator, the ultimate God." He said, raising his voice.
He then explained that the fight will happen with magic like in the fantasy stories that have become very popular lately.
Our world doesn't have magic but it will have magic when we go back, he said. But unlike our planet all others had magic from the start.
We have to get accustomed to magic quickly.
"And your first fight will be in two years. Your first opponent is demons. I have very high hopes for you." He said in a very serious tone.
His tone clearly told that demons were very strong. The fight with one species ends after two wars between them.
But to get out of the fights with all the species you either have to wipe out all other species. Or just kill all of your own people.
After his speech all of the people were teleported back to the places from where they were taken.
Initially there was very much enthusiasm for magic. People were doing different experiments.
Everybody imagined themselves to be the protagonist in this fantasy-like world.
An international organisation for organising the people who were going to fight in the war. It was named WO and people who were going to fight were named warriors.
There were many suggestions, but to not start a controversy a simple one was taken.
Rick still remembers that time and the people of that time.
Everyone was excited about the war; they were thinking that it would be easy to defeat the demons. After all they were humans and humans always win in our stories.
But those were our stories. This was not a story.
The first war began. The demons were like humans in body structure with two hand legs. But there were different types of demons.
Some looked like humans while others had sharp teeth and faces that could just kill some people by their looks.
Magic was being used but we were far inferior to demons in terms of magic use. We were using our older weapons, like guns and missiles.
They were more effective than the magic. But it only took two days for demons to figure that the bullets did not have magic imbued in them.
The moment they figured out that the tide reversed. Our humans began to be attacked by demons. They were far more in numbers than our warriors.
The first war lasted one week. It should have lasted one month. There were going to be two wars, both of which should last a month.
One third of humanity was wiped out. Cities were completely destroyed. Everywhere there was despair, people were going insane seeing the bloodshed. The destruction could have been worse.
But it was able to be controlled because the gods thought that we were not ready enough and they were not satisfied to see such a one sided genocide.
So the first war ended after a week. We were given three years to prepare for the next war with demons.
If we survive this then our opponent would change.
Rick was just a normal warrior in the first war. He was very afraid of death. Rick knew that the excitement that people have about the war will only turn into despair.
He wouldn't have even fought in the war if he was not broke.
In the first war he had seen the demons from very close. Had watched them kill people mercilessly.
At that point of time he had a promise to himself to make a group of people who were the strongest in the world. He wanted people who would not think twice to murder.
After the war the surviving warriors were given a huge amount of money and Rick used all that to prepare for the next war.
Rick had spent all his time training and studying magic. He was studying because he knew to get strong he has to know everything about magic.
Now with only four months remaining till the next war Rick felt that he was ready and it was time to recruit his people.
He had already researched about the people he was going to recruit.
After two continuous years Rick went out of his chamber that he had built to train. Rick did all kinds of exercises with studying and using different spells.
So he needed a bunker that had facilities for all of this. He used all the money that he earned from the war to make it.
He had nobody close to him. So nobody came to even meet him. He only talked to people online just so that he wouldn't forget how to speak.
Now he needed to test out his new abilities and he had the right opportunity to do it.
He coul
d also recruit his first member through this. Rick entered the God's tournament.
