Chapter 1 - prologue

A man entered their small eatery. She was about to greet him with a cheerful welcome, but she didn't get to finish it when she saw his familiar face. As he entered, he slowly approached the counter where she was. She couldn't even hear what he was saying yet, but her blood was already boiling due to his annoying presence.

When he reached the counter, he immediately spoke.

"Good morning, may I order your name, miss?" he said with a smile on his lips.

"Leave." That was all she said to him.

"I'll leave when I get your name," he replied.

"What do you think you are, huh? God? Why are you bothering me, there are plenty of other girls out there you can bother, why did you have to pick me?" she snapped at the guy in front of her.

It's been almost three months since he started coming back to their small eatery. He keeps asking her all sorts of questions, but she refuses to answer.

"Miss, I'm just asking for your name, and you're not even giving it to me," he reasoned.

She frowned and stepped out from behind the counter. "Why would I give you my name? I don't even know you. Why are you so persistent? You must have been born with a lack of sense," she said irritated.

The guy smirked and pulled out a chair to sit down. "I'm introducing myself so I can get your name. Or are you waiting for me to use my influence to find out?"

She laughed softly and patted his shoulder. "Even if you use all your wealth, you'll still get nowhere with me. Good luck with that," she said mockingly and turned to head to the kitchen.

...

"Alexie, you're going to burn the food!" a loud voice shouted from afar. She jumped and quickly turned off the stove.

"Sorry about that," she apologized as she removed the pan from the stove.

"Alexie are you okay? You seem a bit off today," her friend asked with concern.

"I'm fine, Anne. I just have a bad feeling today. That guy won't leave me alone, he's bothering me every day. Maybe he has nothing else to do with his life," she replied irritated.

"Just tell him to leave you alone," Anne said.

"Anne, you've seen how many times I've already told him to leave me alone, right?" she raised an eyebrow.

"Haha, yeah, quite a few times. Maybe he's just interested in you," Anne teased.

She approached her and hit her shoulder. "You, I don't know if you're on my side or not. And even if he was the last man on earth, I would never be interested in him, even if you tattoo it on a dragon's head," she said with conviction, raising her right hand in a vow.

"I hope you don't eat those words," was all Anne said before turning back to washing the dishes.

She sighed and sat down on a chair at her usual spot. It was by the side, with a blue table, where she wrote and calculated her employees' salaries.

She sighed again and whispered, "Crazy people..."
