The five of them, and the dog, are all seated at the dinner table. With Mary front and center for all of the discussion. Milo was currently digging into some delicious treats, for being able to find her first.
Mary was also eating some leftover marshmallows that Ms. Avery restocked the cabinet before leaving with Melissa.
"So… Mary… why were you removed from the CEO position?" Ethan asked her while tapping a pen on the table, with a notebook in hand from who knows where. Meanwhile, she had a face full of marshmallows, almost choking on some, but calming her down enough so that they could get some information out of her.
She swallows all of the marshmallows in her mouth so she doesn't choke to death. "U-um, I-I was seen as u-unfit for the position anymore…" she says whilst scratching the table, having to get Arthur to stop her. "They s-said that the c-company needed a-an actual l-leader…" she lifted her hand off of the table, and Ethan caught a glimpse at all the scratch marks she'd left behind.
"An unfit leader huh…" Ethan pondered for a minute. "What'd you do for them to come to that conclusion?"
"T-the A.C.P.D. needed s-someone who could, i-instill fear into the p-population…" She said, "I o-obviously d-didn't want to do that. S-so they f-fired me, a-and put someone e-else into that p-position…" her hands were shaking like crazy, worrying the rest of them. Milo even looks up to see her legs shaking a bit, so Milo gets up, and struts her way over to her, laying down right next to Mary's leg to comfort her.
"Was this a mutual decision between them all?"
"Yes… they all wanted me gone…" she looked down at Milo rubbing her fur against her leg. Letting her breathe a tiny bit.
Just then, the main entrance slammed open. They all twisted their heads towards where the sound could've come from. There were also some muffled voices coming from the direction as well.
"You sure that we got everything?" Melissa is seen right beside Ms. Avery; who was carrying some groceries in her right arm.
"Yes I'm positive… I do hope that Braxton and the others are doing okay…" Ms. Avery says. "I haven't left him alone for this long in years…" she looks through the bag, and checks her phone to see if they got everything. Nodded her head when she saw that they didn't miss anything today.
"Oh c'mon! They'll be fine. They won't kill themselves at least~" Melissa says.
"WHAT!" her jaw dropped to the floor in an instant.
"Haha! I'm just joking girl!" she bumps Ms. Avery's shoulder, and she fake laughs in response. "I bet they're all just sitting around, and doing nothing anyway…" Melissa lets out a deep, belly sigh.
They both make it to the kitchen, where they were going to put away all the stuff; but then they stop dead in their tracks after seeing what was going on.
"What the hell is going on here?" Melissa catches Mary out of the corner of her eye. "And why Mary of all people here?" she walks up to the dinner table, and sets down the bag that she took out of Ms. Avery's hands. Arthur and Braxton were going to look through it, but Melissa just swats their hands away from the thing. Ms. Avery and Mary just stare at each other, with Mary looking pale. Mary's hands were clenched so tightly, that blood started to pour out of them in droplets. Milo opens her mouth to taste it, but then is disgusted on realising it tasted like metal.
"Hey, Avery. You Okay?" Melissa comes back over to her, and starts waving her hand in front of Ms. Avery's face. Her eyes blink twice, before coming back to her senses.
"O-oh! Sorry there! I just zoned out for a second…" She apologizes, even though nobody was mad at her. "Anyway… what are you all doing here? And I didn't know you guys came back Ethan!" she waves at him, in which he returns.
"Oh no! It's only me sadly… the other two got into a huge mess…" Ethan's face tilts down just the slightest bit.
"Oh yeah… why weren't they with you anyway?" Arthur got into the bag by this time, the rest couldn't really care enough right then though.
"I think that they might have gotten arrested…" They all went completely silent. Even Arthur stopped rummaging through the grocery bag. "Yeah, they left yesterday night, and they hadn't come back. So Sarah and I went out looking for him, that's when we learned from some country lady that a guy named Lukas got taken away…" Mary looked somewhat concerned.
"What did they do?!" Melissa was really concerned at this point.
"Don't really know, just that they were probably framed for something mass murder related…" Ethan's face darkened. "I also don't know where they are right now. So I came back here to warn you guys about it"
"So, should we go and track them down or something?" Braxton was eyeing the donuts, down at the very bottom of the bag.
"I mean, yeah? We first gotta find out where these guy would be located at…" they all scratched their heads, forgetting that they have a pretty good lead right in front of them.
"W-was there A.C.P.D. tape a-around the crime scene?" Mary spoke up.
"Oh, um, yeah… I think?"
"Then t-they would probably be located in the very s-south, right next to the Canada and US border" Mary explained. "T-they made that building right after I was f-fired as the CEO I t-think" her hands were fidgeting like crazy as she said all of this.
"Wow. really? Ok then" Ethan gets up from his chair, and ruffles his hair a little bit. "Braxton, Arthur. You guys are gonna come with me!" they both sighed aggressively, pissing Ethan off a little bit. They both flailed their arms onto the table, and lifted themselves up. Almost like they were in sync. Braxton looks over at Maria, and asks: "you wanna come with us?" she shakes her head no. which they all completely understand.
"Alright then you two! Let's go to the car, and go break these guys out!" Ethan launches his left fist upright. The two of them follow sloppily.
