"Crap, we're taking on water! Someone help, the ship is sinking!"

A pirate lackey shrieked in absolute panic. The gaping hole left behind by the explosive light blast was already gurgling with the deafening roar of rushing seawater.

The grim realization sparked immediate chaos. The crew screamed in terror, scrambling frantically across the splintering deck. Several men abandoned all hope right then and there, diving straight into the churning sea.

"Mōko Rekkōha! (Fierce Tiger: Rending Light Wave!)"

Torsen's furious roar suddenly erupted from another smoking crater on the deck.

An instant later, five vicious, glowing claw-waves tore out from the wreckage, streaking violently through the sky directly toward Baishui.

"Light Particle Barrier!"

Seeing the incoming assault, Baishui calmly muttered the technique's name. With a casual, sweeping motion of his hand, a transparent shield woven from shimmering light particles materialized around him.

BOOM!

But Baishui quickly realized he had severely underestimated the sheer weight behind the strike. The absolute second the claw-waves struck the barrier, a deafening, piercing screech rang out as the light shield fractured. The concussive force alone threw him backward through the air by more than ten meters.

His pupils shrank. His muscles tensed immediately, his expression hardening with an unprecedented level of focus.

When it rains, it pours. As if sensing Baishui's momentary vulnerability, Torsen was already airborne, propelling himself upward with Geppo. He pressed his razor-sharp claws together, forming a deadly, spear-like point, and lunged straight for the fractured energy barrier.

CRACK!

It shattered in a single hit! The light barrier exploded into a shower of dissipating, glittering fragments.

Torsen flashed a wicked, feral grin. Murderous intent burned brightly in his eyes as his claws plunged toward Baishui's unprotected chest without an ounce of resistance. If the attack connected, Baishui would be a dead man.

"Light Particle Cannon!"

Baishui matched his enemy's smirk with an icy sneer of his own. Moving with lightning speed, he raised his right hand, curled his finger as if gripping a trigger, and unleashed a devastating beam of pure, concentrated energy.

If Torsen wanted his life, he was going to have to pay for it in blood.

"You lunatic!" Torsen cursed, the hair on the back of his neck standing on end. Relying purely on battle instinct, he ducked low and violently threw his momentum to the side to narrowly evade the blinding blast.

"Light Particle Volley!"

Seeing his opponent dodge, the corner of Baishui's mouth ticked upward. He immediately raised his left hand, firing a dense, inescapable barrage of light spheres, plunging Torsen right back into the danger zone.

"Damn it!" Torsen swore, his face darkening. The fleeting advantage he had risked his life to seize was instantly erased.

I still underestimated you! Torsen knew he had misjudged the Marine, but he never expected the gap to be this impossibly wide. This guy... with his level of strength, he'd be an absolute powerhouse even in the Grand Line! He fights like a monster with a 200 million Berry bounty!

"Rankyaku: Mōko Kōjin! (Tempest Kick: Fierce Tiger Light Blade!)"

Torsen roared, his legs lashing out in a frantic flurry of kicks. Crescent-shaped, pale-blue blades of compressed air tore through the sky, colliding violently with the incoming light barrage.

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!

Violent shockwaves erupted in every direction, the concussive force rattling the very heavens. The air hummed with a continuous, deafening rumble.

"Incredible..."

"They're on a completely different level!"

"To be that strong at his age..."

"I'd be happy if I had even a tenth of his power!"

The Marines watching from below muttered in absolute awe, deeply shaken by the terrifying display of Baishui's strength.

Is this your true power, Baishui? Captain T-Bone gripped the hilt of his sword, his skeletal face tight with complex emotion.

"Dammit! Kill them all!"

Suddenly, a bloodthirsty roar echoed across the water. T-Bone and his men looked up to see the pirate ship, the Fierce Tiger, aggressively accelerating straight toward their Marine battleship.

"Open fire!" T-Bone ordered, a fierce, battle-ready grin spreading across his face.

---

Out on the open ocean, it is a universally acknowledged truth that practically no pirate ship can match the raw firepower of a Marine battleship. Marine vessels are standardized, scientifically developed, and centrally supplied. Their destructive capabilities easily eclipse the makeshift cannons slapped together by the average pirate crew.

After all, the underlying technology for these warships was engineered by none other than Vegapunk, the greatest scientific mind the world had ever known.

KABOOM!

A synchronized volley of cannonballs tore through the air, slamming squarely into the hull of the Fierce Tiger. The bow of the pirate ship was completely obliterated in a spectacular explosion of fire and splintered wood.

"Keep firing!" T-Bone bellowed, commanding his Marines to maintain the relentless barrage. He wasn't about to give the pirates a single second to catch their breath.

"Light Particle Cannon!"

High above the sea, Baishui leveled his right hand once more. A blinding beam of pure energy, as thick as a water barrel, blasted down toward the scrambling pirates.

"NO!" Torsen unleashed a desperate, agonizing scream, utterly powerless to stop the incoming devastation.

BOOM!

Fire illuminated the sea, accompanied by an earth-shattering crack. The Fierce Tiger was violently snapped in half right down the middle. Caught in the expanding shockwave of flames, the vessel began to rapidly disintegrate into ash before their very eyes.

The pirate grunts were blown away like helpless insects, falling in droves. Even the crew's executives, like Ghost Mouse, were sent tumbling pathetically across the splintered deck, covered in soot and fighting just to survive.

This was a level of destruction they simply couldn't withstand.

"I'LL KILL YOU!"

Torsen's eyes turned bloodshot. He stomped against the air with incredible force, tearing through the sky to instantly reappear right in front of Baishui.

BAM!

Baishui casually blocked the brutal kick with his elbow. A brilliant flash of light pulsed from his body, erupting with concussive force that violently repelled Torsen. Spreading his wings of light, Baishui surged forward in swift pursuit.

"Haa!" Baishui shouted, executing a flawless, devastating axe kick that plummeted straight down toward Torsen's head.

Damn it! Torsen had initially assumed Baishui was just some arrogant punk overly reliant on his Devil Fruit powers. But the sheer weight behind that kick shattered that delusion entirely. Even without his abilities, Baishui's hand-to-hand combat skills were more than a match for him.

Thud! Thud!

The impact was staggering; it left Torsen's arms completely numb. Firing off two rapid Geppo kicks to absorb the momentum and push Baishui back, Torsen immediately rebounded, launching himself at the Marine once again.

CLASH! BANG! SMASH!

In the blink of an eye, the two men exchanged over twenty brutal blows in mid-air.

A few minor scratches appeared on Baishui's body, but they were entirely superficial. Compared to the battered, panting Torsen, the Marine was practically unscathed. The terrifying shockwaves rippling out from their aerial clash were so intense that Torsen's surviving crew and T-Bone's Marines could only watch from below, unable to intervene. Entering the fray was too dangerous; a single stray gale from their fight could easily sweep any interloper off their feet.

"You bastard...!"

Suspended in the air using Geppo, Torsen heaved aggressively, gasping for breath. His eyes burned with intense, bitter reluctance as he glared a hole right through Baishui. The raw intensity of the stare was almost enough to make Baishui's skin crawl.

Torsen realized he had severely underestimated his opponent yet again. What was supposed to be a routine extraction mission had turned into an insurmountable chasm. Baishui's strength far exceeded anything they could have predicted.

If they couldn't defeat Baishui, there was zero chance of rescuing Chris. Hell, at this rate, Torsen would end up in an Impel Down cell right next to him.

"Longe Baishui... alright then. I'll remember that name!"

Left with absolutely no alternative, Torsen was forced to abandon the mission—and abandon Chris. If he pressed the attack, the entire Sabertooth Pirates crew would be wiped out here and now.

"Trying to run?!" Baishui smirked. "Did you ask for my permission first?"

He raised his right hand, unleashing a blinding pillar of light that chased after the fleeing pirate captain, perfectly cutting off his escape route.

"Damn it! Don't push your luck, brat!" Cornered, Torsen let out a furious roar. He whipped around, stomped heavily against the air to anchor himself, and threw a desperate, full-power punch straight into the path of the incoming energy beam.

---

BOOM!

The energy beam and the bare fist collided with terrifying force. An apocalyptic shockwave erupted outward, roaring like a thunderclap across the sea. Down below, the complexions of Ghost Mouse and T-Bone both turned pale. Both commanders scrambled to stand in front of their respective subordinates, bracing themselves to block the devastating fallout of the clash.

"So what if I'm pushing my luck?!" Baishui yelled back. "In this world, strength dictates everything! If you were stronger than me, I wouldn't have a damn thing to say!"

Refusing to give his enemy an inch, Baishui flared his wings of light. His body blurred into a phantom, tearing through the air with a sharp hiss. Seizing the opening, he leveled his left hand at Torsen and pulled the trigger.

"Light Particle Volley!"

Immediately, a massive swarm of glowing orbs blasted forward, perfectly sealing off every possible avenue of escape around Torsen.

"Mōko Hakōken!! (Fierce Tiger: Crushing Ruin Fist!!)"

A look of absolute savagery twisted Torsen's face. To Baishui's surprise, thin tendrils of blood-red light began to coil around the pirate's fists, emitting an aura so vicious it made the Marine's heart skip a beat.

"If I'm going down, I'm taking you to hell with me!"

Pure, unadulterated madness consumed Torsen's eyes. His fists blurred into a furious flurry, hurling out massive, pale-red spheres of compressed air shaped like the snarling heads of ferocious tigers.

Pop!

The moment Baishui's light orbs collided with the tiger-shaped energy blasts, they vanished with a faint pop—just like burst bubbles. It was as if all their destructive energy had been instantaneously siphoned away.

"What?!" Baishui was stunned. He hadn't expected Torsen to be hiding such a terrifying trump card—one capable of completely negating his Light Particle Volley in less than a single second.

"Light Particle Barrier!"

The hair on the back of Baishui's neck stood up. He only had a split second to summon his defensive shield before he was completely engulfed by the dense barrage of tiger-headed shockwaves.

COUGH!

COUGH!

Two agonizing sounds of blood being violently coughed up echoed simultaneously. Like kites with their strings cut, both combatants plummeted from the sky, crashing down toward the bows of their respective ships.

"Baishui!"

"Captain!"

Frantic shouts erupted from both vessels. On the Marine warship, T-Bone lunged forward, catching the bloodied and severely weakened Baishui in his arms. Across the water, a burly pirate managed to catch the battered body of Captain Torsen.

"Go...!"

The absolute second Torsen regained a shred of consciousness, he wheezed that single word through bloody teeth. His voice was heavily strained, yet laced with desperate urgency.

"What?!" The pirate crew was utterly stunned. They never expected their captain's very first command to be a full retreat.

"I... said... get the hell... out of here!"

Torsen's eyes suddenly bulged with furious adrenaline. Grabbing the burly pirate who had caught him, he violently hurled the man backward. Then, driven by what could only be a terminal burst of energy, Torsen vaulted off the deck. Using Geppo to suspend himself just above the water, he slammed both fists brutally into the ocean surface.

The kinetic impact generated a massive tidal wave, forcibly pushing the severed remains of the Fierce Tiger backward to safety. At the same time, the colossal wave acted as a physical wall of water, blocking T-Bone's warship from pursuing them.

The crew of the Fierce Tiger finally understood why their captain had pushed himself to such suicidal extremes. Shoving their grief aside, Ghost Mouse immediately seized the helm, pushing the ship's remaining engines to their absolute limit to flee the battlefield.

Behind the wall of water, a bloodied Baishui shakily raised his left hand one final time. He unleashed a dense swarm of light orbs, shooting Torsen directly out of the sky while the remaining projectiles chased after the retreating pirate ship.

But he was just a second too late. Thanks to Ghost Mouse's decisive piloting, the Fierce Tiger had already slipped past his maximum range.

Severely wounded and drained, Baishui had no choice but to let them go.

T-Bone didn't even bother checking on Torsen's watery fate; his sole concern was whether his subordinate was going to survive.

"Quick... seize him now... capture Torsen!"

Firing that final shot seemed to drain the absolute last drop of stamina from Baishui's body. The moment those words left his lips, his eyes rolled back, and he collapsed completely into unconsciousness.
