"I'll give it to you straight," Henry snarled. "Leave a leg behind, and I'll let you live! Otherwise, I'll just have to drag you back alive!"
In Shiro's arms, Aki had slowly drifted off to sleep. Shiro gently patted her back, lulling her into a deeper, more peaceful slumber.
The other nurses watched with envious eyes. If only they had a boyfriend as reliable as the man holding Aki.
"Gahahaha! I've sailed these seas for over forty years, and I've never heard a joke so damn funny! Since you're so eager to die, let's let our fists..."
"...do the talking!"
As the last word left his mouth, Henry vanished, reappearing instantly right in front of Shiro. A violently swirling energy enveloped his right arm, making the very air tremble.
"Strong Fist: Double!" Henry roared fiercely, throwing a devastating punch.
His speed was staggering. To the onlookers, it seemed as though he had simply teleported in front of Shiro. Yet Shiro didn't even seem to register the incoming attack, his hand still gently patting Aki's back.
"Gahaha! Die!" Henry laughed triumphantly, his previous sense of unease completely forgotten.
"Die? No, no, no. I'm far too young, and I have no intention of dying today," Shiro's voice suddenly whispered directly into Henry's ear.
Somehow, he was already standing behind the pirate captain.
"Photon Kick!"
Shiro casually raised his leg, delivering a blindingly fast whip kick. Henry's single eye widened in absolute horror.
"Impossible!" he shrieked, finally realizing exactly who he was dealing with.
Bang!
Like a fired cannonball, Henry was sent rocketing backward. He smashed cleanly through the hull of his own pirate ship docked nearby, leaving a massive, splintered hole in his wake.
Hiss!
Everyone present sucked in a sharp breath. This guy is too strong! Henry isn't even in the same league!
"You lot are next," Shiro said, turning his attention to the remaining pirates. He raised his left hand, forming a finger gun, and pulled the imaginary trigger.
Pew! Pew! Pew! Pew!
The women flinched as the sickening sound of flesh being pierced echoed across the deck. The pirates, who had been arrogantly strutting around just moments prior, were instantly reduced to a heap of bloody corpses, their chests riddled with holes like a sieve.
"You bastard! I'll kill you!"
Henry surged back out from the wreckage of his ship. He hurled a barrage of highly compressed, fist-shaped air blasts that bombarded Shiro like artillery shells.
"Look out!" the nurses cried in unison. They were entirely on Shiro's side now; if he fell, their fate was sealed.
"Putting your life on the line, huh?" Shiro murmured. "Heh. Is this really all you've got?"
He casually raised a hand, deploying a shimmering screen of light in front of him. "Photon Barrier."
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Deafening explosions rocked the warship. The vessel violently shuddered under the relentless, thunderous barrage.
"Reflect." Shiro clenched his outstretched hand into a fist.
Instantly, the Photon Barrier shot forward. Before Henry's astonished eyes, the solid wall of light slammed into him with the force of a runaway sea train.
Spurt!
Crack!
The sheer concussive force was horrific. Henry coughed up another massive mouthful of blood as half the ribs in his chest snapped.
"He's amazing!" The nurses clasped their hands together, their eyes sparkling with pure admiration. Who wouldn't want a boyfriend like this? Powerful, handsome, and incredibly tender when it counted.
"Give it up, Limping Henry. You were never going to win. The gap in our strength is just too wide," Shiro said coolly. He raised his right hand, aiming another finger gun directly at Henry's head.
"Hmph! In your dreams!" Henry spat, blood dripping from his chin. He refused to yield, lunging at Shiro one final time. "Horn Impact!"
Seeing this, Shiro couldn't help but shake his head in pity. He pulled his imaginary trigger. "Photon Cannon."
A blindingly radiant beam of pure energy erupted from Shiro's finger, completely engulfing the charging pirate.
"Ahhhh!"
Henry unleashed a bloodcurdling, agonizing scream that tore through the sky. He desperately tried to force his way forward, his lone eye bulging with sheer unwillingness, but the overwhelming power of the energy beam blasted him mercilessly backward.
His screams lasted for a mere two seconds before abruptly cutting out. Limping Henry was completely erased from the face of the world.
"N-No way!"
The remaining members of the Henry Pirates felt their scalps go numb with terror. Their monstrous captain hadn't even lasted five moves against this Marine!
"Run!" someone finally shrieked. Panic erupted as the pirates scrambled to pilot their ship away.
But Shiro merely aimed his left hand at their fleeing vessel and squeezed his fingers.
"No!" the pirates howled in unwilling despair, entirely unable to escape the incoming onslaught.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!
Massive orbs of brilliant light, each the size of a millstone, rained down from the sky like a meteor shower. They crashed heavily into the pirate ship, instantly obliterating the vessel and vaporizing the crew along with it.
As the roaring explosions faded, the ocean grew quiet. There was no trace of the pirate ship left—only a sea of floating splinters and water stained deep crimson.
"Alright, it's over," Shiro called out, turning his back. "Ladies, please adjust your clothing. It's a bit... improper."
At his reminder, the nurses suddenly realized their uniforms were torn and soaked, clinging revealingly to their bodies. Flushing beet red, they hastily covered themselves and bolted into the ship's cabins to find fresh clothes.
It took nearly an hour before the cabin doors finally opened again.
The women stepped out, looking absolutely radiant and beautiful. Some exuded a gentle charm, others a mature allure; regardless, it was a sight that would leave any man mesmerized.
But Shiro didn't even seem to notice them. His eyes were entirely focused on Aki. He held her close, a gentle, fond smile playing on his lips, a sight that made the other women burn with jealousy all over again.
If only I had a man like that... Thoughtful and overwhelmingly strong. They suddenly realized just how incredibly lucky Aki was to have a boyfriend like Shiro.
"So, what was your objective for this voyage? How did you end up running into a pirate crew?" Shiro suddenly looked up, his clear eyes sweeping over the group.
"We were deployed as medical support," one of the nurses explained, her voice trembling slightly. "Because we're all nurses, we never expected to run into a pirate crew right here..."
"And the Marines... they all sacrificed themselves to protect us," another girl added, breaking into soft sobs.
As she cried, the rest of the women lowered their heads in mourning. Those men had died to keep them safe.
"I see. Let's leave it at that," Shiro said softly. "First, please tend to Vice Admiral Bastille's injuries. I'll contact Marine Headquarters, report the situation, and have them dispatch a rescue team. Then, we head back!"
"Understood!" The nurses nodded emphatically. Although Shiro's rank wasn't the highest, his commanding presence had completely won them over. Who wouldn't obey a strong, handsome hero?
"So that's the gist of it, Fleet Admiral Sengoku. I'll leave the rest up to you!" Shiro said into the Transponder Snail, his tone sounding utterly helpless. Before the man on the other end could reply, he hung up.
"That brat! Trouble follows him no matter where he goes. He's a natural-born disaster magnet!" Fleet Admiral Sengoku slammed the Transponder Snail down, thoroughly irritated by Shiro's casual, willful attitude, yet entirely powerless to do anything about it.
"Sigh... I'll just have Garp make the trip," Sengoku muttered, massaging his temples.
He was acutely feeling the strain on the Marines' top-tier military strength. Momonga, Yamakaji, and the other Vice Admirals were constantly bogged down with endless missions. Momousagi and Chaton were permanently attached to Tsuru's unit, keeping a vigilant eye on the Yonko in the New World.
That left only Smoker and Shiro as his reliable wild cards.
And Smoker was as stubborn as a mule. The man point-blank refused to work at Headquarters, insisting on guarding Loguetown in the East Blue.
That meant Shiro was the only highly capable, high-tier fighter Sengoku had at his immediate disposal. No doubt, Shiro would soon end up like Momonga—drowning in endless assignments.
"Sigh..." Sengoku let out a long, weary sigh. He looked as though he had aged ten years in a single day.
Half an hour later!
After waiting on the warship for what felt like an eternity, Shiro finally spotted Garp's dog-headed warship lazily approaching.
"You old geezer!"
The moment Garp's ship was close enough, Shiro vanished. He instantly reappeared right in front of the legendary Marine Hero. Coating his right arm in Busoshoku Haki: Hardening, Shiro threw a vicious punch directly at Garp's face.
The sudden ambush caught everyone else completely off guard. They watched, utterly bewildered.
"Bwahahaha! Looks like you've grown some wings, brat!" Garp laughed boisterously. "Genkotsu!"
Garp's right fist tore through the air, carrying the roaring sound of wind and thunder as it violently collided with Shiro's Haki-coated strike.
BOOM!
A deafening, thunderous explosion ripped through the air, sounding like the wailing of the heavens. The resulting shockwave from their clash was so tyrannical it sent the surrounding Marines flying off their feet.
The sheer force of the impact cleaved the ocean's surface in two, churning up a terrifying fifty-meter-high tidal wave that crashed outward. They had literally created a tsunami with a single clash of fists.
The scale of the destruction was absolutely horrifying.
Hiss!
The Marines standing behind Garp sucked in a collective breath of cold air. They had heard rumors of Shiro's strength, but they never imagined he was this monstrously powerful. The way they looked at him changed—they were staring at a freak of nature.
"Bwahahaha! Good! Very good!" Garp laughed uproariously. He flexed his arm, adding a sudden burst of immense pressure.
The sleeve of Shiro's right arm instantly shredded into confetti as the young Marine was blasted backward through the air.
"Not bad at all! You actually managed to take seventy percent of my power! You've improved a lot over this past year and a half, brat!" Garp grinned, his face full of excitement and genuine pride as he watched Shiro stabilize himself mid-air. Truth be told, Garp practically viewed Shiro as a fourth grandson.
"I say, couldn't you have hurried up a little?!" Shiro complained, dropping down to sit cross-legged on the deck, throwing his hands up in exasperation. "I've been waiting so long I'm going crazy! It took you three whole hours to cover such a short distance! Seriously, I don't even know where to begin roasting you!"
"Bah! What's the rush, youngster? I'm here now, aren't I? Besides, with you here, the girls weren't in any real danger. What does it matter if I take my time?" Garp retorted, plopping down onto the deck himself and happily munching on a bag of rice crackers.
"Whatever. I'm not wasting my breath on you," Shiro sighed, clearly done arguing. His eyes scanned the crowd of Marines behind Garp. "Hurry up and get someone to steer my warship. I have no idea how to sail the damn thing. If I knew I'd have to wait three hours for you, I would've learned how to pilot it myself!"
