(AMARI'S POV)
I don't know how long we stayed in silence. But it felt like eternity when a loud throat clearing pulled my eyes away from Kaelen's.
"Good morning to you too, Alpha Kaelen." It was Seraphina's voice, loud and heavily dripping with sarcasm.
Kaelen broke eye contact and cleared his throat. "Good morning, ladies."
"Good morning." Rudina and I chorused.
"Are you leaving now?" Vanessa said, stepping forward.
I assumed they had met already this morning, with the way they ignored his greetings.
"Yes." Came his reply.
"Don't you think the dress looks marvelous on her?" Seraphina said, beaming at me.
I felt the heat crawling to my cheeks as his attention turned to me again. This time, after a deep stare at my face, his eyes wandered down, sending butterflies to my stomach.
I bit my lower lip, wishing we could skip this part quickly.
As slowly as his eyes went down my body, they went back up and landed right on my face.
My throat felt dry.
