Juna sat on the edge of the bed with her tail wound tight around one leg, watching the princess take the chair at the small desk across the room.
'Why is she here?' she thought, her ears turning back flat against her hair, 'she came without guards, so this is an apology or an order.'
The hostility came back the way it always did whenever Didi got close, unearned by anything the princess had actually done, which made it no easier to sit still under.
Didi looked at the floor for a long moment before she said anything.
'She is going to say something bad,' Juna thought, her claws finding the seam of the mattress, 'maybe she worked out that I cannot stand her.'
"I have a favor to ask you," Didi said, lifting her head until she met Juna's eyes, "a large one."
"What is it?" Juna asked, stiffening where she sat while her claws pushed into the mattress.
"I need you to get Hajin to the royal banquet next week," she said.
