Chapter 32 - Breakfast

The dining hall was smaller than Hajin expected.

Not small in a cramped way, but intimate compared to the throne room. A long table sat in the center with enough chairs for maybe twelve people, though only a handful were filled. Candles burned evenly along its length, their light catching the polished wood and the silver dishes laid out in careful rows.

Hajin sat near the middle of the table with Juna on his left, her tail wrapped tight around her leg under the chair. She had not said a single word since they walked in.

Across from them sat Didi with her mother to her right and a younger boy Hajin did not recognize to her left. 

The boy looked maybe twelve, with the same sharp eyes as the King but none of the weight behind them yet. He kept stealing glances at Juna's ears before looking back down at his plate.
