When she returned home with her brother, their parents were already waiting for her.
After dinner, Gwen still couldn't sleep. Thoughts crowded her mind: school pressure, worries about love life, and the elderly woman she had met earlier, who had suddenly disappeared. Eventually, exhaustion won, and she fell into a deep sleep.
The next morning, her mother knocked on her door. Gwen woke up immediately.
"Sweetheart, come eat with your father and me."
"Okay, Mom, I'm coming."
At the dining table, her parents were quiet, but Angelo broke the silence.
"Sis, do you have someone courting you?" he asked directly.
"No, why?" Gwen replied, puzzled.
"Then why were there red roses outside when Mom opened the door this morning?"
"Huh? Red roses?"
Angelo showed her freshly picked, vibrant red roses that had appeared just outside. Gwen's eyes widened she knew it couldn't be from Aaron since he didn't know they had moved into a new house.
"Just let your daughter be, Alma. Gwen is already a young lady and at the right age," said Gwen's father, Edmon, with a smile.
"I don't have a problem if she gets a boyfriend, as long as she finishes her studies," her mother replied.
"But Mom, Dad, I don't have a suitor. Maybe someone was just playing a prank and left those flowers outside our door."
"Oh come on, do you really think those beautiful flowers are just a prank? Those look like high-class flowers from a flower shop," Angelo reacted.
"I told you, I don't have a suitor! Why do you keep repeating it?" Gwen said, annoyed.
"Alright, both of you, stop it. Finish your food or you'll be late," Alma interrupted.
"Maybe sis admirer is rich, Mom," Angelo added.
"You're still not stopping?" Alma responded.
Gwen simply finished her meal and hurriedly left.
"Wait, Sis! Wait for me!" Angelo shouted as he ran after her.
